Quality, but heavy!
5 stars for quality, appearance, and functionality. But 3 stars for being clunky and heavy. I thought it was simply black leather with a soft fuzzy lining. I was surprised when I saw it has a triangle shaped opening, rather than an oval opening. I wish it was oval instead of triangle. It is incredibly stiff. There must be some stiff cardboard stiched into the leather that makes it so stiff. But the consequence is that it's heavy. The problem with it being heavy is that the more weight you have on your bridge or tailpiece, the quieter your bass will be. More mass on the bridge or tailpiece, the greater the muting effect. You'd be better off with a lightweight vinyl or thin leather quiver if you don't want your volume to suffer. I stopped using the quiver 24/7, and only use it during orchestra rehearsals for convenience.

Great semi-rigid bow quiver that's easy to install and stays out of the way!
I inherited an old plywood 3/4 bass which didn't have a bow or a quiver. I am learning to play it both in the plucked jazz/pop style as well as the bowed classical style, so I needed a quiver to hold my bow. This is a great quiver -- it is easy to attach in a manner so that it doesn't rest against the belly of the bass, and my bow goes in and out very easily. It's a semi-rigid quiver so the bow slips in and out with no bother. This is much nicer than a more flexible quiver would be. Excellent for beginner or pro!

This is the one to get! Excellent design and well made..
This very nice quiver is easy to get my bow in and out of and has a soft lining inside for protection.. Bow does not get in the way of my playing pizzicato when inside and has a professional look to it.. Seems well made and has the best design I think.. Looks like it will last a long time without any maintenance and I would replace it if it were lost.. A very good and inexpensive investment for any bow worth using and protecting.

Makes Using the Bow Much Easier
The quivers I've been using for years and years were kind of like leather socks - It was tough getting them to stay put. The quiver was always getting caught in strings or causing nasty vibrations. The Protec quiver has a definitive shape.It's made of a stiffer leather - It stays put and makes using the bow much easier. The bow goes in and comes out much easier. I have other Protec products and found them to be cleverly designed. This product fits the same profile.

Great - well designed, stiff opening.
This one has a well designed, stiff opening that makes it easy to insert the bow quickly. I tried a cheaper one that was not stiff and the opening had the "V" on the wrong side, so it was harder to insert the bow - it was a smaller target. It's worth the few extra bucks.

It is definitely used and put it back in the plastic bag and sell to me. I am not happy with that.
