Works really well for a few years

Grilling on a Magma kettle would be nearly impossible without this component. Unfortunately they do not last long in a high humidity or salt air environment. I feel lucky if mine last 5 years. Small price to pay to keep a decent BBQ grill going.

Great fix for older Grill

Our old Magma kettle had a screen and briquettes that had seen better days. When we tried to find replacements we were directed to this newer assembly. It simply pressure fits into the grill - no screws- and the grill grate holds it in. It provides strong, steady heat. We use it in our boat- so no more messy briquettes to rearrange every time we set it up. Great retro for an older grill. We thought we may need a new grill (200+) so we are very pleased to have found this part.

Great replacement for the original screen.

Used this to replace my original rusted-out screen. Eliminates the need for the loose “briquette” pieces too. That’s nice if you need to stow your BBQ in an area that it can’t sit flat. It works well.

Excellent Upgrade

The original Magma gas grill had a metal screen and ceramic 'briquets'. These were always a problem, as the screen would rust away after a few seasons, and the briquets would move about when we went sailing and required the cook to handle a greasy grill, move the sooty briquets back in place, and so forth. The radiant plate ends all that, and seems to have improved the overall function of the grill. Probably the best purchase you can make to keep your old Magma gas grill cooking!

Huge improvement

I own the original grill which came with a screen and brikets. It was terribly uneven heat. I switched out the brikets for this plate. It is a huge improvement. No more burnt chicken on one side and raw on the other side of the grill.
