Doesn’t sound right

Sounds like a party favor more than a duck call. Long calls sound way off. Short calls sound ok.

Just for a Lark

I ordered this duck call as a prop for a show I'm doing because I wanted an interesting sound effect. Admittedly, I can't really change the pitch of the call, but it's loud and distinctive, which works great for what I want. It was reasonably priced, arrived in a timely fashion, and seems to be made of sturdy plastic (I've already dropped it once. It was fine). I will say the little strappy-thing that comes with it was useless to me- there's nothing to loop it around to keep it on there. Hence, I dropped it already. I'm sure you could figure out a way to attach it to something, though. I'd say it's a good buy, though I'm no hunter.

it works

The first time I went out with this I didn’t know anything about calling, but as I was on the lake in a boat leaving for the day, we saw a lone mallard and he flew over and I called him, he came right back. The picture is from that day with the call hanging from my neck. I am a beginner duck hunter and never used a call before I got this, it works.

Good for beginner's

This is great for just screwing around. It'll make people think you're a duck, I dont know about actual ducks. It all depends on your skill level and what you want out of it

This call is easy to use

Before you read too much of this, you should know that I'm not an experienced duck hunter. I can't authoritatively verify the quality of the sounds this call makes. That aside, it is a very easy call to make sounds with and does take a bit of abuse. My nephew loves to play with this call and blow it as hard as his lungs will let him. The best sounds, however, come from more gentle blowing and a large variety of duck sounds are available with simple variations of technique. To my inexperienced ears it sounds like the sounds ducks make. The price is hard to go wrong with. If you've got some of those very expensive calls, maybe their nicer but this would be a good back-up.

Best uncle gift for kids that aren’t yours

I don’t know if it attracts ducks or not... I do in fact know that it annoys my sister and brother in law... see I figure kids yell and talk all day. What better gift for my niece and nephew than a duck call. Checkmate uncle ..

Duck Call

I searched Duck Commander, Duck Dynasty items on Amazon and I thought this duck call was one of theirs. I am on unemployment so I can't afford to pay to ship it back and buy a different one. This is for a gift and my friend is going to be really disappointed that it isn't a Duck Dynasty duck call. We just got into the show and even the T-Shirt I bought isn't an "original" from Duck Dynasty but with it saying Hap-Pay, Hap-Pay, Hap-Pay and having ducks on it, she won't know that Phil signs the shirts. I found out after I ordered from Amazon and then went to the Duck Commander store. I am trying to pay less since I am on a fixed income but I am really upset about the duck call. Guess I need to do my homework better before ordering items.

Fun novelty...

I'm not a hunter. I bought this to call my ducks on the pond when I want them to come to me. It works well when they associate the sound with feeding time. It's also a great product if you want to really annoy somebody with the sound. The price was reasonable, or I wouldn't have bought it.

Ducks don’t echo

It’s easy to blow and make duck noises. But it echos. Ducks quacks don’t echo. Doesn’t sound real on a calm days.

loud, easy to use, great for beginer

used this call for this season and it is pretty good for the price !! It's very loud and best if used to get ducks from distance. I enjoyed how easy it is to use and overall sound. Only downside is the quality of the materials used which are pretty cheap. it's a good call for beginners
