Short term use

We bought this as a temporary cage to separate one of our parakeets. The cage bottom is made of very cheap plastic and hard to clean. The metal part of the cage was very flimsy and hard to snap onto the bottom but I did get it on there eventually. It came with 2 brittle plastic dishes that attach but so tiny I don’t know how the bird is supposed to get its head in there comfortably to eat. It’s a nice feature but I didn’t use them they were too small. There was also one perch and a small circle swing which was a nice addition. I give it three stars as it fulfilled its temporary purpose but I would not recommend buying this for daily permanent use, it’s not sturdy enough.

Perfect for 1 budgie

The media could not be loaded. A good size cage if you have one small bird like budgie but if you have a big bird or more than one birds, this might be too small. You can only fit 1 toy without clustering the cage. I like the little boxes for food and water it has. It helps keep its cage a little clean.

Very small

The cage itself is too small. I bought it to travel between houses with 2 parakeets. It's a 2-hour trip and I wouldn't use it for a longer period. It would be cruel to use this as a permanent home - so don't. The door is hard to open, so you'll need pliers to make adjustments. And it too is small. It won't be easy getting the birds in and out. Finally, the bottom tray slides out when being carried. A bit of tape should help. I would not recommend this for anything other than short trips. Better to buy something bigger and of better quality.

A nice and useable cage for budgies

I'm a long-time bird breeder. This is a great cage for one or two pet budgerigars (parakeets to some people), or any small birds, as companion animals will likely spend most of their day out of the cage and go there to eat, drink and sleep. I like that it has a flat top as budgies love to sit on the roof of their cages. I'm not crazy about the plastic perches that come with the cage but I understand that's the most reliable thing the manufacturer can provide. I cut ~1/2-inch diameter natural branches down to fit the cage. I like the spring-loaded doors that hold the hooded seed/water cups in place although I use a tube waterer for my birds and that's easily attached to the outside of this cage. The only issue I have is that the built-in door "lock," a dimple in one of the door wires, is too deep and that makes it difficult to release the lock. But, that's a minor issue as you can just bend that dimple a little bit to one side to lessen the amount of engagement it has with the crossbar. I'm going to get more of these for folks that buy pet budgies from me.

Doesn’t stay together too well.

I bought this just as a travel cage for my bird (because it is WAY too small to be an actual bird cage). It’s easy to put together for the most part, there were a couple pieces where it was hard to get, but it doesn’t stay how it’s supposed to. It bends super easily and the hooks somehow pop out of place. Also, the bowls that come with it snap SO easily. Definitely not a permanent cage, but if you’re looking for something temporary… this will work.

Perfect travel cage!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this cage!!!! You will be very happy with it! I bought 2 of these for a cross country trip for a parakeet, & a parrotlet. They used them for roughly 2 months during the process. Easy to assemble. Perfect size as it wasn't too small for them, & wasn't too big to travel. Fit perfectly side by side on a hotel cart going into a hotel under a blanket. I was able to keep food & water securely inside the containers for them the entire drive. I added some of their favorite toys to make it feel more homey. They had no issues with the plastic perches/swing. Easy to clean. My favorite part is that the door locks into place & can't be opened without pulling it out/up so that my smart birds couldn't escape. The food dish doors are springs so they stay tight & secure. Sturdy cages!! No issues whatsoever. They'll be stored for future use, & future moves as we move often.

TINY bird cage, perfect for travel

The door on the front is hard to open, but you will be safe if you have a bird who tries to open doors. This cage is very small and I would consider it inhumane to house a bird in full time, but it is light and small enough to hold in your lap in the car. Perfect for traveling with a small bird! My two parakeets fit fine for short periods. My birds didn't care for the round swing and it blocks space in the already small space of the cage. The food and water bowls are the best part of this cage, they stay on very sturdy even when maneuvering the cage around and don't spill. The bottom tray is the perfect size for a piece of paper towel which makes cleaning very easy. The top comes off fairly easily to give you more room to put a bird in or let them out!

NOT a cage for daily use!!

Please take into consideration when deciding to purchase this cage that this is cage is WAY too small for any bird for daily use. Especially budgies that need lots of room to stretch their wings and fly. I only bought this as a travel/vet cage for my three budgies and as a hospital cage when they were sick. This cage was rather hard to assemble because of how misaligned the top is. Another thing the door is super tiny, neither myself or my husbands hand could fit through it to grab our budgies out or change their dish bowls. Only my 12yr olds hand could fit. It is rather sturdy once assembled and it did the job with transporting my birds to and from vet!! However I still do not recommend it as a cage for your bird to call home, as that’s what I’ve seen with some of the picture reviews.

Little cage for small bird training or transportation.

Easy to assemble but not very sturdy. This very small and light cage will be perfect for us as we'll be using it to train a young Budgie bird. I actually "reversed" the front panel with slight modifications so we can take the bird out with a stick at the upper part of the cage. The door mechanism isn't great either, it should be a "flap" opening instead of a sliding motion... The "door lock" is also quite stiff. We'll probably modify it too and use a "paper clip" to keep it locked. (Don't forget we reversed it). Nonetheless, we got it in 2 days for 10$ less than the pet shop price and will use it for the few upcoming weeks. The bird is happy. Good !

Buen producto, pero muy caro

Es bastante fácil de armar. Me gustó la calidad del acabado de la pintura, por eso dudo que se vaya a descarapelar... va a durar muchísimo. También me gustó que es muy ligera para colgar o si se tiene que estar cambiando de lugar. La calidad es muy buena, aunque la parte inferior es de plástico, pero muy resistente. La charolita que se saca para limpiar es bastante práctica y fácil de manipular. En general, es lo menos que se esperaría de un producto con semejante precio. A mi ave no le gustó, aunque la jaulita sí es muy, muy bonita.

Missing parts.

I received the cage and am happy with it for my needs except the top parts for the two feeding dishes are missing. I’ve been trying to get Amazon to send me the two tiny missing parts, but cannot find a way to contact them about this and it is very frustrating.

Don't waste your money.

My cat looked at it and said "no problem! ????" I have to buy another pack of cable ties to hold it together. With enough duct tape, I may be able to hang it up! If not for the powder coating, the wire would collapse in a heap! But the cleaning tray works.
