Generally a great kettle, needs small improvements
I like that the water heats up in a glass beaker. BPH or not, I don't like water cooking in contact with plastic. A++ for using glass. I like the plastic holder and handle that resist heating up. A++ for this. The lid that pivots on a hinge needs improvement. The back part of the lid has a thumb tab to open and close the lid. This thumb tab goes down into the plastic handle when the lid is opened up all the way. The problem is that there is a plastic nub on each side of the thumb tab that makes it almost impossible to get the thumb tab to go down into the handle, and to then get the tab up out of the handle to close the lid. Unfortunately, it is necessary to push the thumb tab down into the handle to open the top sufficiently to clean the glass beaker and to add water to beaker prior to heating it. I SOLVED the problem by filing the plastic nubs down until the lid would open and close with little resistance. This was very easy to do and only took a few minutes. I used a regular file but I think this can be done even with a nail file, but it might take a few minutes longer. I attribute this problem to poor quality control in the Chinese factory where these are made. It is easy to fix this defect but when I buy something new I normally don't expect to have to modify the product to make it usable. It's possible that only a few mugs come with this defect so that most are OK. The only other issue I have is that if you push the lid all the way down prior to heating it can be hard to pull up out of the glass beaker when the water is hot. But if I only push it into the beaker part way it is easy to open when it comes out of the microwave. This is a potential safety issue. If the lid is pushed all the way in and is hard to get up when it contains hot water, a person might use force and end up splashing boiling hot water around. I would suggest to the manufacturer that they do a minor redesign to make sure the lid does not get stuck in place when it is hot, and I would suggest to anyone who buys this to be careful not to push the lid all the way in prior to heating. I think these two issues should be addressed by the manufacturer, either with minor product modifications or with improved quality control in the factory. One improvement I'd like to see is the addition of measurement lines on the glass beaker to make it easy to add exactly the amount of water that I wish to heat. I'm experimenting with permanent marker right now, but this would be a real improvement and would be very easy to do at the factory. In conclusion, I think this is the best overall microwave kettle I've been able to find. The basic design is vastly superior to any of the other products I've looked at. For what it is I'd say it's a little on the pricey side but it is worth the few extra dollars to get a better product. But they really need to fix the problems I listed. Overall, I like it so much that for me, it was worth buying and then dealing with the problems rather than settle for an inferior design, but I'm hoping that this company either addresses these issues or that a competitor comes out with a design with a glass beaker and handle that does not get hot but without the issues noted above.

Just press it all the way down... No, further than that
I have had this kettle for nearly 11 months now. As an avid tea drinker and well known lazy person, the ease with which I am able to make a drink and not burn my hands on a mug has increased tenfold with this purchase. The only thing that bothered me about this kettle was how difficult it was to clean. As I mentioned earlier, I am lazy- sometimes I leave the tea bag in the kettle with the last dregs of water hanging out on the bottom. This, of course, leads to mold. Last night, I was facing down my moldy tea kettle once again; trying to force my smaller-than-average hand inside the frustratingly tiny opening in hopes of cleaning away the mold and treating myself to a cup of English breakfast. I was telling my mom how annoying it was that the lid only opens up about a third of the way when I decided, screw it, I'm gonna try forcing the lever down into the handle more than I ever had before. Now, I never attempted this before because it really seemed like it wasn't going to go any further without breaking. I am an idiot. It popped up! Fully open. The lid went to a 90° angle, rather than the sad 30° I had been struggling with. For 11 months. TLDR- This thing is great. Don't be afraid you'll break it. Just. Just press the lever all the way down

Good micro tea pot
I tried two other microwave teapots before settling on this one. This one is reliable and easy to use though not the most attractive it is easy to clean and use and I found it to be a keeper!

For the Price, If you are Careful, It will last you and perform well.
I bought this to keep in my backpack for camping or.......well...backpacking. I bought this to make tea or coffee and not take up a lot of space like a coffee pot or french press would take up. I see a lot of other complaints on this item, saying it is cheeply made or some have trouble with it sealing. First of all, this is a very low cost item. It is made well enough that it will work with no problems. But......you may want to check the hinge part, and make sure it is pressed together. Now from what I have seen after making 10 cups of coffee with it, if it gets damaged, it will be from operator error. When you unlock the latch and open it up, do it easily and make sure the halves open oposing each other. Wash and rinse easily, and let it dry, then close it, latch it, and check the hinge. Just in case you need to adjust it. If you let it flop around or allow the halves to twist, or twist opposing each other, it will open up the hinge enough that it may not shut securely the next time you use it. But all you have to do is latch it, and press the hinge section back tight. Not rocket science, not hard to do, and an easy fix. You just have to be a little conscientious, and do a little preventive inspection and adjustment from time to time. But for a backpacker or camper, the low cost, space and weight savings it offers is a great trade for being a little careful with it.

microwwave tea kettle
Well made but not my cup of tea, I find it cheaper to use a electric kettle, microwaves are used to heat solid matter not clear water, soups and food ok, not good at heating water,. although it does not recommend I am going to try and heat soup one day. I like the idea, it may be ok for others, but not cost effective fore me and it takes longer than a electric kettle

Better infusion of the content
In my experience this design holds advantages over the traditional teaballs, such as easier filling of the ball, better infusion of the content and so on. It's a petty therefore, that a certain looseness, or flimsiness prevents this superior design to fulfill all its promises. In detail: Although the lock does its job well, the same cannot be said about the minuscule and loosely fitted hinge at the other end, which prevents the two half of the ball to close tightly. Although this small gap is not sufficient to spill tealeaves with longer strands, finer cuts and certain type of herbal teas will escape. It's a petty, because the design concept is basically sound, and it would take only a small, inexpensive adjustment at the manufacturing level to make this product perfect.
