Buyer Beware!
While the pattern is very beautiful, the quality is not consistent. The filigree stamping is very uneven in that it might be deeply blurred or details may be missing completely at the top of the forks and spoons. The salad/dessert forks were especially problematic in terms of quality. Also the oxidation can be somewhat erratic. Clearly, quality control is an issue. These items are made overseas and not made in America. Oneida is owned by another company. On a brighter note, customer service is excellent and willing to exchange any defective pieces. Replacement pieces are hand selected for quality to avoid simply getting more of the same.

Not the same Michelangelo of the past
I rarely take time to write a review, but I feel obligated to warn people that this is NOT EVEN NEAR THE QUALITY it used to be. I own over 24 settings of Michelangelo that I bought when it was still made in the USA. It is top-notch quality in every way and still looks brand new. In the past I have even given some as gifts to family members. I recently bought 4 more settings and can't believe what Oneida has done to this pattern. The pattern has changed and the detailing is gone. The new pattern is now stamped on and there is no quality control. Where there used to be fine floral engraving, there is now a swirly mess of metal. There are some places where the stamping didn't press hard enough and left a blank spot. On a few pieces, the stamping machine must not have been aligned with the metal, and the design runs off the edge. The fine micro-beading near the border has been replaced with tacky large dots. There is also something different about the metal, although I can't quite place it; the pieces feel light and cheap. One of the forks has sharp metal protruding from the handle. Most of the pictures you see online for this pattern are of the older version when it was made in the USA. Read the glowing reviews carefully and you'll see most of them are referring to flatware bought 10+ years ago. I can't mix this new stuff with my original Michelangelo pattern; I would feel embarrassed if a dinner guest picked up one of these.
