Not as Useful as I Thought
I just received the Maxpedition CMC wallet, and I want to like it. I just don't. The wallet is well-made, like all of the other Maxpedition items I've used. The two zippered pockets are quite handy, and the zippers seem sturdy enough; the outer pocket is even somewhat expandable. The wallet does have plenty of room, though it's not necessarily useful room (explained below). Another reviewer said that he felt like a little kid pulling out this wallet, and I agree. The loud velcro rip on this slightly oversized wallet does make me feel kind of stupid. I thought about unstitching the velcro and replacing it with a snap, but I'm sure I'd just ruin the wallet even more. Another minor problem with the wallet is the money flap. It's quite loose, and paper currency could easily fall out if placed directly in this flap. There is a pocket behind the flap that could also hold dollar bills, but they would have to slide in sideways, which might cause some difficulty in a check-out line when rushing to put my money away. There are only three pockets for credit cards or other cards. Sure, cards could also be placed in either of the two zippered pockets, or the two unzippered pockets, but they wouldn't be handy or well-organized there. And there is no place where a picture ID could be shown without taking it out. I know that an insert would remedy these problems, but not sure it's worth it. Also, the three stretchy thumb drive pockets are shallow and would therefore leave the drives half exposed, making it easy to damage them or for them to fall out. (Their presence appealed to me when ordering because I always keep a USB stick in my wallet.) In all, I like the wallet enough to keep it around in the hopes of finding a use for it somewhere. But I don't like it enough to replace my ratty old leather wallet.

Most secure wallet i've come across.
I absolutly hate wallets and carrying anything in my pockets. This one is no acception. It adds a bulge to your pocket and it is defiantly noticable. However the peace of mind knowing noting will fall out is worth it. Actual YKK ZIppers, havent failed yet.

Looking to change up your style of wallet?
You can tell right a way this wallet was made to last. Does not feel cheap. Right materials and quality to last you years of service. I’m used to the traditional leather bifold wallets for years. But, I was looking for a different way to carry money and my cards. This is a great choice so far. I’m liking this style of wallets. I even ordered the “spartan” wallet just to have in reserve. I’m even gonna order the “Maxpedtion Micro” wallet for my 10 year old son. He’s gonna like it. For anyone looking to change the style of carrying money this isn’t a bad choice. It does take some time to get used to the Velcro on it but that’s nothing major. It’s a Great choice. Oh, almost forgot and this wallet will even hold all your spear change.

Kind of a downgrade
My Maxpedition Spartan was getting pretty dirty and I decided to go with this one, mainly because it has a zippered section. The only problem is, the zippered section doesn't stay zipped on it's own. Honestly, I don't care for this wallet, I always worry that my cards will fall out. The card layout is a pain in the you know what, it slows me down at the checkout lines, I have to pry my cards out. The Spartan made it so easy. If Maxpedition could make a Zippered Spartan I would be in my glory.

OMG - This Is The Wallet of My Dreams. I Should Have Gotten Something Like This A Long Time Ago!!
Definitely beats the old standard leather trifold wallet I was using. I can store more bills, more cards (plastic, gift, and business), and more crap in this wallet than any other I've had. Yes, it's bigger than my old trifold, but it still fits in my rear jeans pocket. The trifold was just too short compared to this, meaning there was a lot of wasted space in my rear pocket that I couldn't use. This wallet utilizes that space to allow you to store more. And with all its compartments it isn't any wider, either. My old trifold used to bulge like crap when too much was in it. Plus, that crap would fall out, because the only decent storage space in it was in the main bill compartment. The trifold's crappy little card sleeves just didn't work for me. This wallet's compartments are a dream!! There are so many of them, I can organize my cards & crap into separate sleeves, rather than just clumping them all together, and they're easy to access! EXCELLENT JOB MAXPEDITION!!

Ultimately I decided that a slim or minimalist wallet would not be a good option. I loved the look of this wallet ...
After viewing several different styles of wallets, an Everyday Carry blog made me aware of the Maxpedition brand. I wanted a slim wallet, but the ability to carry coins and not have to fold up bills more than in half was important to me. Ultimately I decided that a slim or minimalist wallet would not be a good option. I loved the look of this wallet on Amazon and their website. The coin or zippered storage area on the back seemed like it would accommodate all of my wants. The problem was, and the reason I ultimately decided to return the wallet, the zipper on the outside pouch is poorly designed. The seam of extra material gets caught in the zipper on nearly ever use. Many times I was afraid I'd rip the material trying to free the extra cloth from the zipper. The coin storage area was a major selling point for me, and the fact that it was not functional was extremely disappointing. Finally, I thought I could overlook the Velcro closure, and I'd even convinced myself the potential security benefits would make the feature a plus. Was I wrong ... I wouldn't have returned the wallet if this was the only issue, but I felt like a little child using the wallet. I was surprised at just how loud the Velcro was when you opened the wallet, and every time I had to access my money or cards I'd sheepishly reach for the wallet and cringe as my wallet shrieked open. My coworkers even began to poke fun at how obviously uncomfortable I was about my toy wallet. I wish I could say I was mature enough to not be self conscious over something so silly, but I can't imagine taking that out in a business setting.

Sources to replace an identical wallet that was lost on a walk.
This is my second Maxpedition Hard Use wallet. I had been using my first one for over 4 years. It still looked as good as new. These are very tough. The bank note holder is a pocket closed on three sides that the notes slide into. With the wallet closed the fourth side is folded shut so that it becomes impossible for the notes to dislodge. The zips on the inner compartment and the outer coin pocket are very sturdy. There is plenty of space for cards. The wallet can be a bit bulky if the coin pocket is well loaded - equally it has the capacity to hold a fair amount. Enough for a couple of those expensive trips to the car parking machine. I also like the elastic fabric pockets (3) for stamps and other small items. If it wasn’t for the fact I lost my first wallet I would not be reviewing the purchase of an identical replacement. Well recommended!!

Robust, neat wallet
Good wallet - I spent a silly amount of time looking at reviews of wallets before choosing this one - mainly because of the irritation of trying to find one that looks smart, won't fall apart, has a secure coin section and isn't enormous - and have no regrets with this. My only quibble is that I would have liked a quieter opening than the velcro. The velcro does its job well and feels very secure... but makes a loud ripping noise when you open it, simply because the velcro binds so firmly. Would have been nice to have the silent sharks-tooth closure that US army wallets use. Size-wise, some reviewers commented that it was a bit large - while it's a bit bigger than bill-fold type, i think it's absolutely fine size-wise. All-in-all, feels robust and like it will last a long time.

My husband loves this
I asked him to tell me what he loved about this wallet I bought, a gift. Pros. Plenty of room to stash stuff, eg. small pen, notebooks, cash, banknotes, cards. Even carry my MRF 0+Tools in One Universal 3.0 Toolcard in the rear zipper compartment. Tough, dependable, well stitched, Teflon sprayed so it's water/stain repellent. Plenty of large compartments in rear, EDC carry. Cons. Very strong Velcro fastener. Bu$$er to open, snags on jumper. Expensive but worth it.

It's awesome!
It is awesome. A lot of card room. A lot of coin room. A lot of money and un-cashed cheques and un-cashed lotto tickets room.

A damded fine wallet
I have been looking for a proper wallet for a while, and after many disappointments this finally one hit the mark. Good coin compartment, plenty of card slots, and a variety of accessory locations. If you want a practical, well made and way to use wallet, you can't go wrong with this one. 10/10
