Looks expensive!

Looks really good for the price point! Only time will tell about how it will hold up, but for $13 I’m ok if it doesn’t last forever. The only thing we wish it would have came with is shorter screws. The screws it comes with are meant to expand into dry wall. We had to use our own shorter screws that would screw directly into our vanity. I also think it sticks out quite a bit, but I guess with a full toilet paper roll it makes sense. The toilet paper shown is the Costco Kirkland brand (sadly our last roll, say a prayer that we can find more during this pandemic!).

Since I don't like to have to re-fiddle with completed projects

These have a high quality chrome finish, and appear solidly made. The criticisms on these seem to revolve around a tendency to droop out of horizontal. Since I don't like to have to re-fiddle with completed projects, I added a step to the installation. After tightening the set screw to establish a horizontal installation (use a level!), I then removed everything from the wall. The set screw marked the base plate where it had been tightened. I used a drill bit slightly smaller than the set screw to make this a shallow but defined detente. I then reassembled the whole thing. Of course, a rigid assembly does you no good if the attachment to the wall is not solid. If possible, screw it to a stud, or use more aggressive drywall fasteners than those supplied. So far, so good. No wobbles.

Almost perfect

Very nice piece for the money. The screws provided are not flat headed and when screwed in all the way do not let the base sit flush against the cabinet. I am handy and save extra pieces from everything else I buy, so luckily, I had some. Would be nice if the manufacturer provided more than just the long anchor screws which were not ideal for my mounting. 4 out of 5 stars.

Looks great, easy install, sturdy and priced great!

This is about my 5th Gatco product purchased for my home renovation. My first purchase I was so pleased with the quality, look and price that I purchased for my second bath and then half bath. I have purchased 3 toilet paper holders, two towel rings, a single robe hook and a double robe hook (this double I was not pleased with the anchors included for hanging - you are best off using your own).

My main problem with this item is the difficulty in making sure the horizontal rod is perfectly level, or preferably tilted up to keep the roll from flying off into the garbage can. You have to tighten a tiny screw, using a hex driver, from the bottom, and it catches in between the ridges of the mounting base beneath. The problem is if the the mounting base isn't installed absolutely perfectly, the screw won't necessarily line up where you want it to. I would prefer if it has finer graduation in the groove so you could adjust the slant by microns. But the design is elegant and simple, and once you have it installed perfectly it works well, so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Perfect TP Handle and Matches Other Set

This is a great product and does not squeak like similar products sold at major retailers. I would highly recommend purchasing this over ones at Home Depot, Lowes, Etc. Install is fairly intuitive, just takes some time as you have to use an allen key to install.

Looks great but you have to replace it every 5 years or so

We have these in all 4 bathrooms. Like another reviewer noted (1 star review), the joint where the bar meets the part on the wall starts to loosen after some time and the bar tilts with no way to tighten it to maintain horizontal. For us this happened after about 5 years. Since the main work is putting the mounting bracket on the wall, we decided that given the fact that these are inexpensive and it's not very hard to replace as long as you don't have to put a new mounting bracket in, that we would just replace them, knowing that the same thing will happen in 5 years, but being okay with that versus the alternative. Reading all the other reviews for similar 1 arm toilet paper holders, they all seem to have similar problems.

stylish but somewhat flimsy

I do like the style and the quality seems to be good. It does not look cheap. And holds a paper roll well - I was worried before buying it that the roll will slip off, which did not prove to be a case. Some other reviewers mentioned that the holder does not attach well. I thought I will place it in such a location that there was no tempting to use it as a support when sitting or rising, and that will resolve the issue. While in fact we do not use it as such, there is still some flimsiness to it even with very light pressure onto the unit. I must be very careful to remember it to avoid any slight force when cleaning around.

Great buy!

I've had this tissue holder installed for a couple of months in our main bathroom and so far it's holding up very well. It looks modern and the toilet paper has never slipped off. Great buy!

High quality chrome hardware

Top quality sturdy hardware. The chrome is mirror like and and the hardware included is robust. Costs a little more than other options here but worth it. Have also bought other Gatco hardware items- double robe hook and towel ring and they are all top quality. I mounted this with the hook facing left and wanted the set screw hidden facing down. I backed off the allen bolt that connects the arm to the base, turned the arm 180 degrees and tightened it back up. Now the set screw on the base faces down with the arm facing left making for a perfect installation. Very pleased.
