Not like the pumice stones I usually get
I originally bought a package of pumice that fits nicely in my hand but dissolves pretty quickly. I use one whole stick for less than one half of one side of my pool. I saw this professional size one and got it today. I had to remove three layers of plastic to get to it and when I did it had a lot of pebbles that fell out and all over my kitchen. A corner was evidently crumpled. It is quite large for my hands and hard to direct it up in the corners but it does a better job of removing the calcium buildup without disintegrating. There are pebbles or something in the mix and I was worried that it could scratch the tile but it didn’t. I did, however, make the mistake of not wearing gloves, and my fingers are raw and one finger has a cut from being on the other side of the rubbing back and forth. I do try to keep up with the buildup so it wasn’t extremely thick, except in my waterfall which has natural stone and I wasn’t sure if it was safe for it. I did it anyways and it was pretty good. I did loosen a chunk of stone though… In general I’d say it is a good choice. Wish my husband or kids were doing it instead of me. ;)

After trying every pumice stone out there...this is EXACTLY the pumice I have been searching for!
I believe I could be the BIGGEST fan of this pumice stone. I ordered several different styles, sizes and brands from Amazon only to be disappointed after every single one of them UNTIL THE POOLMASTER 36700 PUMICE STONE. Most of the stones I tried would last only a few minutes and then totally disintegrate. I would have gone through dozens of them to get the pool shelf soft enough to sit on after the winter settled on the shelf. We have a large shelf and I ordered 3 of these thinking I would need several again and I couldn't figure out why they all disappear so fast. LETS JUST SAY I RETURNED THE OTHER 2 BECAUSE THIS ONE DID THE ENTIRE JOB AND WILL NEXT YEAR TOO! I cannot rave enough about this product and would recommend it 100% of the time over any other...I will not buy any other brand again! That being said I would recommend wearing a garden glove with rubber hands when using it just because I wore the skin on my hand out scrubbing. Still LOVE LOVE IT and will use it again and again!

It works
It"s a big block, and will last a long time. It will remove stubborn calcium deposits. I test used it on 4 badly deposited pool tiles. It will take some elbow grease but do not press too hard. Let the stone do the work. Use plenty of water to lubricate as you scrub. Wear rubber gloves so it won't rough up your hands. Best results is use the stone to get the stubborn deposit off, then use a swim pool 60 grit scrubbing pad ( available through Amazon) to finish up the light deposit. Took me about 10 mins to do the 4 tiles. Do not drop this brick on a hard surface, it will break. The last thing is to have lots of patience.

not good for over calcium tiles
It is a large stone which is good for a large pool its also not too heavy. Unfortunately our tile buildup was much too thick for this to help out. It took me an hour to get the buildup off just a couple tiles I couldn't imagine if I had to do my whole pool. We just hired a professional instead and had it done in a couple hours. I think this will be good for up keep but it was not helpful for heavy buildup.

Best Pumice for smoothing out the Plaster on the pool bottom
I don't use this on the pool tiles. When I refill the pool, I abrade the pool bottom to get rid of the rough feeling on your feet. You'll need about 3 of these for a 15 x 30 pool. You can use them between fillings by diving down, abrading, then vacuum (or have the pool guy vacuum) the crumbs the next day. This looks like dense natural pumice. It's not the lighter weight stuff that some people use on tiles. I needed it in a pinch on a Friday night and Amazon got it to me by noon the next day.

Outlasts every pumice stone on the market!!!
I have 120’ feet of tile around pool and spa. Went through three of the blue pumice bricks and only went 30’. This one went around the rest of the tile removing calcium scale with less effort. I still had over half of the stone left. Highly recommend purchasing this pumice stone for your pool tiles.

Easily Scrubs Off Calcium Nodules
This pumice stone works better than the others because it doesn't disintegrate as scrubbing (many do), so less pool cleanup and longer lasting. Large size easy to hold for scrubbing. Pumice is rough so use gloves or wrap plastic bag around - what I did.
