Packaging and pump do not match

I ordered the Eheim 1046, and that is what I received. It appears to be new, and is now running the aquarium filter I purchased it for. However, the pump arrived in an Eheim 300 pump box, with the 300 cardboard packaging inside. The 1046 being a smaller pump, it was rolling around in the box because the cardboard did not restrain it, of course. I received what I ordered, but it leaves the impression that there is mischief here.

Quiet and reliable.

You can't hear it at all and it has been working without any issues. I would definitely buy this again.

Poor quality and support from MFG.

For starters, the 1046 is like 75gph and for most applications it is far too weak to push water through a UV Sterilizer. I bought this to power my Coralife 18W UV Sterilizer and there was a constant air pocket in the intake tube. Tried burping the unit by powering off, still lots of airpocket was unable to be eliminated. Also, the unit was prone to leaking. It didn't leak a lot but the bottom of the unit was always wet. Any movement would cause it to leak more. Some of it was coming from the intake barb and a tiny drip bubble formed around the rubber impeller drip O-ring seal. I tried calling Eheim but no support numbers on user manual. Googled Eheim but only found it when I browsed forum. I then called number and was told they would have to call me back but never did. I would not recomend this product to anybody using a tank bigger than 10 gallons. I bought the Mahineland 900 and that works awesome!! Was able to power up my UV sterilizer just find.

Incredibly well made and durable

These are what many companies use to run their Calcium Reactors because they are so reliable, and you can get parts for them! Many pumps, are disposable. I feel it is unfair to rate this pump 1 star because the buyer was not able to read the gallons per hour flow before he bought it. I find it obvious this won't run a UV sterilizer! It is made to run low flow for years and years. I have some of these that have to be 10 years old! and still running strong. I broke the ceramic impeller shaft on one, and was able to order just that part alone. Other brands eat your heart out! lol For what it is designed for, this is as good as they get. Made in Germany.

Extremely well built

I bought it on another online store (was cheaper there). This pump is on another level. All pieces are really made to last and you don't feel like is going to leak anytime soon. Very (very) quiet and very consistent and much heavier that similar pumps. Power Cord is VERY well protected. The one i got was made in Germany.

Excelente Bomba

Sin duda es silenciosa, bombea demasiado bien siendo ocupada para un sistema de water cooling, con el sello aleman 100% podemos decir que es una bomba demasiado buena.
