It works fine.
Used this on my generator, walk behind weed trimmer and John Deer riding mower. Got the oil out just fine. The Hose is a bit large for the generator and trimmer. But still worked. The rubber piece that the pump is on just sits in the canister opening. It popped out on me a few times while pumping and spilled oil. It's hard to get all the oil out of the hose so leaves a mess and hard to figure the best way to store. Seems expensive for a bunch of plastic. The canister could be bigger and should have measurement numbers instead of just marks. It worked though and I will continue to use. Better than draining through the drain plug or having to lift and turn the equipment on it's side.

Only one issue . . .
This worked fine for me,extracting the oil from a Honda HRX217 lawnmower. It took very little time and effort. No spills, no problems. The only issue I have is there are no hash marks on the collector bottle to tell you how much volume you have recovered. So you aren't sure if you got it all. But afterwards, doing a rough calculation based on the volume of a cylinder, I'm confident I got within a few hundredths of a quart of the capacity of my Honda out of there. And that is excellent. Now, what I will do, and what everyone should do before they use this, is (1) note the oil capacity of the engine you are going to use it on; (2) measure out a volume of water equal to that capacity; (3) pour the water into the empty collector bottle (NOT into your engine); (4) make a Sharpie mark at the water line and note which engine it is for. (Then don't forget to pour out the water.) If you have several engines, you can make several marks--there is plenty of room for marks. That way, when you pump oil out, you'll have confidence you emptied the crankcase.

Great product for doing small engine oil changes.
It works as advertised... you need to make sure you push the hose through the stopper, just a small amount to insure there is a tight seal. I was able to extract the oil easily and without the mess. It is best to place the opposite side of the lawn mower on 2x4 blocks to make sure much of the oil gets to the side where the siphon hose is located. Make sure you warm up the engine for a few minutes, making oil less viscous and easier to suction out. You may have to move the hose around a little bit as you are inserting it through the hole of the dipstick... This is to ensure the hose is at the bottom of reservoir. The only real issue is cleaning out the hose of residual oil.. I used air from air compressor to get most of the oil out of hose. Now I want to try it out on my Honda generator. This system is much easier than having to get underneath the mower and trying to locate the drain plug...

Oil vac for small engine
Sucks oil right out of small push mowers without turning upside down, easy to use. Happy with purchase. No mess.

Briggs & Stratton Oil Changer
I was putting off having my oil changed or doing it myself because of the inconvenience and/mess. Using this unit to change the oil on my lawnmower was fast and easy - took less than 10 minutes! I wish I had bought this a long time ago! The pump creates a vacuum in the jar which in turn sucks the oil out of the crankcase - oil/fluid never goes through the pump itself. Its like a syphon with the pump providing the priming - could be used to syphon. I am exceedingly happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

This item will work best when the engine oil is still wam.
I have only used it once so far for an air compressor, I was surprised at how quickly it drew out the heavy oil that was in it. Normally, the oil would only drip out of the drain on the compressor. This pump extracted all the oil in about a minute. It will be great for my lawnmower that does not have a drain plug on the bottom of the crankcase. Up till now I have had to drain the gas from the mower and hold it over a large drain pan to get the oil out of it. I have now used this tool on each of my small engined power equipment. It works extremely well and saves the mess made when poorly located drain plugs are removed from the engine with oil running along the machine surfaces and down everywhere except the drain pan. It works quickly to extract the used oil from the engine. do make sure the engine oil is still warm when using this to make the job go quicker and to be sure debris is still suspended in the oil. You won’t be able to entirely drain the crankcase with this the same way as removing the plug, so maybe doing a second oil change soon after the first will help to ensure all remnants of the old oil are churned up and removed from the engine.

Works as expected
I used this for my snowblower and lawnmower and worked very well. Seemed a little trickier for the snowblower when I shoved the hose down - maybe I pushed it too far down and it started curling back up a little? and nothing was being sucked up. Readjusted and then was fine.

Didn't work
Tried to use it to the letter but no oil(zero) came out. Tried to contact support but didn't receive an answer. Was not able to return it, apparently this is not a returnable item as per amazon support, so buyer beware.
