Toe-balanced blade putter, horrible standard grip, decent feel and weight, 35" shaft length and not 34"
On Pinemeadow's website, this putter was advertised as being comparable to the Taylormade Daytona Putter. Taylormade uses their patented grooved insert, while this Pre 2.0 Putter uses an insert with a scale-like design and two weights (one on the toe and one on the heel). One review that I read on their website indicated a customer actually lost an insert - it had just fallen off after a few holes. I can't see whether the insert is glued on, or whether it is part of the putter head. Nonetheless, the loft is mainly built into this insert. The toe-balanced aspect of the putter makes it more suited for someone with an arcing stroke. After testing this for several dozen strokes, I found the overall feel and weight to be OK - it's not unlike the cheap blade/mallet putter that came with my beginner's club set. The Pre 2.0 comes with a putter grip that resembles a pistol wrap grip, which IMHO, is a horrible design. The grooves from the wrap is distracting. I really liked the soft tacky feel of my Taylormade Ghost Corsa Rossa putter grip, and even the smooth paddle grip on my cheap blade putter felt better. That said, the lighter weight of this blade putter makes it somewhat easier to control for short putts versus a heavier mallet that can explode the ball when least expected. Also note that this putter really is 35 inches in length and not 34 inches. Overall: 4/5 stars. For the price, this is a fairly decent putter. The insert has an aggressive finish which started to shave off some of the surlyn material from my golf balls. I'd recommend changing the grip out to your favorite putter grip. The headcover uses 4 magnets to keep it attached, and I felt this is a very good cover. I don't see how it can fly off accidentally. UPDATE 3 OCT 2013: I played 18 holes with this putter but kept my Taylormade Ghost Corsa Rossa in the bag just in case, but I never felt the need to pull out the Ghost. The Pinemeadow's alignment markings are much easier to use to aim. The mistakes I made were not reading the greens correctly to apply the necessary momentum for the ball, or slight misalignments. The feel is much better than the weighted mallet head of the Ghost. It seems to suit my putting stroke. A co-worker (handicap of 16) noted my putting stroke was fairly decent. I know I've had some problems with the face-balanced Ghost in the past so I am wondering if I have a slight arc in my stroke versus a SBST stroke. Anyhow, this putter worked nicely. I didn't have any problems with the included grip, but I still want to swap it out for something smoother. UPDATE 11 OCT 2013: No complaints! The putter is excellent, I am doing much better at putting thanks to the easy to use alignment marks. I replaced the standard grip with a Winn Taylormade Ghost grip (I liked how it felt on my actual Taylormade Ghost Rossa Corsa putter). I noticed Pinemeadow is now cheaping out on their grips by using grip glue/adhesive instead of grip tape. Also, the local course started seeding the greens which involves excessive use of sand and grit. The grit gets trapped around the perimeter of the putter face insert (where the orange marking is found). It does not affect the putter performance, but it is kind of annoying that I can't clean it as easily as other putters.

Good as long as you hit right
Let me start out by saying that I'm a new golfer with a handicap of 35. My first golf set last year was a $100 full bag of clubs from a retail store. I liked the game so I upgraded my clubs to a new set, but the new set did not come with a putter. My old cheap set had a mallet style putter, so I wanted to pick up a blade putter to see if I liked that style, and for the price, this putter fit the bill. I've used this putter for just over a week now, and my opinion on it varies. When you strike the ball in the middle of the club head, it has a nice solid contact, and it seems to go right where you aim it. If you hit to far on the toe, or heel of the club, it seems a bit 'loose' and doesn't feel solid. This may be typical of all blade putters. Looking down on the putter is nice, the white line helps me line up my puts well, and the putter comes with a nice magnetic head cover that works well. If you are a good player and hit the ball correctly regularly, then this would be a great putter for a great price. *UPDATE* I've now used the putter for a while, and like it more than my original post reflects. I'm hitting it constantly in its sweet spot and its always a solid hit. I left my original post above, but add a +1 after getting used to the club.

It's really all you need
I've been playing golf, mostly pretty poorly, for over 25 years. I've come to realize a few things in this time. First of all, 90% of weekend golfers suck like me. Secondly, most golf equipment and accessories are grossly over hyped and over priced. In my opinion nothing is more so than putters. A few years ago I cashed in some credit card points for a really nice set of callaway clubs and an Odyssy 2-ball putter. I hated the putter from the get-go. It was rediculously heavy and overpriced. One night a few months ago I was browsing amazon for a cheap wedge. Found a great deal on the 2-way chipper. Also saw this putter and decided it was time to retire the Odyssy. For $25 dollars I figured this was a low risk investment. I am very pleased. Simple, light weight, comfortable in the hands. I like it so much better than the other putter which costs over $100 more. I really don't see how anyone would not be happy with this purchase.

Drive for show, putt for DOH!
The fact that I still miss my 3 footers has nothing to do with this putter and everything to do with the fact I can't read green speeds! Seriously though, this is a really nice putter, especially for the price. I wanted a blade putter, not them crazy looking mallets so this was a really nice choice. I'm not a good enough golfer to mention things like "sweet spot" or "weight ratios," but its light and feels good in my hands. The little sock-like cover for it was "meh," and would fall off like 4 times per round as I drove the cart. I eventually lost it and had to replace it, so keep that in mind. Recommended.

Sand is annoying in there.
Not bad for the price. Well weighted and balanced. The only problem I have is that sand gets between the head and insert. Like, a lot. I have a tool to have most of it out but it's in there. In there. Annoying. In there.

Decent putter, but paint chips off
it puts, so it does what its suppose to do so i cant argue about its functionality. Though the black paint comes off after a few rounds of golf and it starts too look ugly as all hell in your golf bag. Though its your basic putter so if you dont mind having a basic--ugly looking after awhile--putter this is perfect for you.

very impressed with quality
for the price, this putter is a must. It really shocked me with how great the quality of the steel is and the head of the club itself is a perfect weight and has improved my putting incredibly. The cover is also pretty sweet since its magnetized which makes it real easy to slip in and out. Do it. DO IT.
