Choose a pattern that works with all foods

And that means that you should consider what foods you serve, before you consider your personal style or the style of your dining room furniture. It's not a matter of ignoring your personal style, but it's a matter of considering the food first, then the living style. And definitely pick a pattern that you can easily match with table linens and serving pieces. This advice will keep you happy with your first china pattern choice for a lifetime. This Lenox pattern, Sugar Pointe by Kate Spade, is one of those timeless patterns. The trim is platinum, which--somehow, with this pattern--seems very bright and shiny. And the white is very white and bright--not egg shell. It is a plain pattern with a bit of fanciful curves working to keep it from being a "stark" pattern. I can't picture a food that this pattern will clash with. This pattern is easily match-able--from flatware, to the odd serving piece, to table linens. The bright white will easily take to contrasting color pieces as well. Lenox china is beautifully delicate, yet it is strong. I've used Lenox for decades, so I speak from much experience. It does not immediately chip from a ding from a kitchen sink faucet or lead crystal goblet. Sharp knives do not leave marks. It's always been an American company, and I think most of the dinnerware is still made in America.

Absolutely gorgeous, super elegant and high quality place setting

This beautiful place setting made my home feel instantly about 30% classier than it is. The delicate detailing on the plates, the beautiful shape of each, and the lovely rim of actual platinum makes this an incredibly elevated set. I've owned things made by Lenox before, and the quality has always been incredible. Not only are these beautiful, but they have also been durable. While I love having beautiful things for my grown-up self, in all honesty with two small children around the house, sometimes things get used a hair more roughly than they should. Somebody is helpful and puts away the grown-up plates with a little more of a clatter than a grown-up might have done, or somebody is loading or unloading the dishwasher and put things down a little roughly. None of these things have fazed these beautiful dishes. They are still kicking after about six weeks of use, and everybody who sees them comments on their beauty.

Classic and timeless

This Kate Spade bone china five piece place setting is elegant, classic, and appealing. It will go with virtually any design, contemporary or vintage, and could be passed down as an heirloom collection. Its timeless elegance guarantees it a place on the holiday table, during intimate family dinners, and for friendly festivities. It has the advantage of being both a designer set (Kate Spade) and a Lenox bone china set. This bone china set is dishwasher safe (but not microwave safe!). It stands out as an elegant, but not stuffy, set. Each piece is lined with gold scalloped edging--a beautiful delicate touch. There is a lovely light line elsewhere on the dishes, but that's it. Each has a minimum of decoration; each piece is understated. This setting is a winner; it far exceeded my expectations. It looks prettier in real life than in the photos.

Very Beautiful and Solid

This place setting is classic, timeless elegance. If you are choosing a pattern it's better to choose something pretty neutral because if you don't, you aren't going to want the pieces a few years down the road because they will be so out of style. This is a great suggestion for that neutral timeless look. I love the texture on them so much. That texture combined with the platinum look scallops make just a lovely setting. I also love that these don't feel so dainty that you think they will chip easily. They feel sturdy while having that graceful, elegant look. I love this pattern and it's a definite recommend that you won't regret a decade from now and that you can pass on.

Simple yet Elegant

This is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a simple yet elegant 5 piece place setting. This set as well as Kate Spade’s other place sets are on the expensive meter. This set is an example of a classic never ending style for both families and single bachelors. Just gorgeous! I plan to mix and match all of our place settings at the table with different Kate Spade settings. I love the simplicity of the look which will never go out of style. You also receive a registration card where you can register and if in the future you break a piece, you get it replaced with 50% off.

One of my favorite KS sets

I absolutely love the simplicity of this design. It goes with so many different themes. It also reminds me of an old vintage set that my parents had. So lovely :)

Formal look

White does not have to be formal, but this one is because the silver ring around the plates has a rounded design and a little wider than just a line. Adorable set, too bad each set is only for one person. Even the handle on the cup has a little design. You will definitely feel special eating on these plates. Terrific set.

Gorgeous in person!

I wasn't expecting these plates to have so much texture on them. These plates are even more beautiful and person you just talked to see them for yourself. They are white and have a gold ring around them (comes in a set of 5). These are actually dishwasher safe and that's a major plus for me!
