...is written inside the cover flap of this beautifully presented bone china serving bowl. It comes in a bright salmon and tangerine box which is perfect for gifting. The bowl is beautiful with both shine and translucence. It has raised silver "stitching" around the rim but I would say they look more like dots than stitches. Gorgeous either way and adds just the right amount of visual interest. It has subtle elegance and its simplistic design lends itself to complementing almost any dining set. At the time of this review the retail price was around $230 with a sale price of $112. Much of the price is due to the brand name but it is also bone china which means the content includes animal bones. I tried to find the sourcing to determine if the bones were ethically sourced but was unable to find that information from a quick search. I would say that if your intended recipient is vegan, you should know that person's stance on bone china before gifting or do a little more sourcing research on your own first.

This Kate Spade New York Union Street Serving Bowl did not disappoint me in the aesthetics department, as it is very gorgeous! The black banding with the platinum accents shine on this serving bowl, and add a beautiful, finishing touch to it that's flawless and chic. There's raised dots or "stitches" around it to accentuate the black and platinum details, and it adds a subtle sophistication to the bowl as a whole. If there was any complaints I would have about this serving bowl, it would simply be the actual price for just one - but being as this is a Kate Spade item with platinum on it, I'm guessing this is just a branding thing that some people are willing to pay for. It certainly looks very high end, and this is a product made by Lenox - a very well-known, albeit expensive, durable brand that creates dishes that last and last. The quality is superb on this one. This bowl came very well-packaged in a pink Kate Spade box that is readily giftable. If you're getting this as a wedding or housewarming present, most of the work has been done for you - it's nice enough to put a bow on it and call it done! Overall, it's an amazingly beautiful, upscale serving bowl, but you're also going to pay dearly for it at the current pricing. That said, it certainly stands out and will surely impress any and all that have the pleasure of seeing and using it. Very lovely - two thumbs up!

Nice design

Okay, I’m going to preface this with I am super cheap. The price of this bowl means that if I hadn’t gotten it through Vine, I never would have ordered it for myself. That said it’s a nice bowl. It’s well packaged in a pink Kate Spade box and plenty of bubble wrap and tissue paper (our delivery guy usually slides boxes from down the hall and somehow this arrived in one piece). It’s a nice heavy quality piece. The detailing is well done and looks nice. You can definitely tell that it is not from a $50 dish set. For most people it’s probably the kind of dish you break out for family at the holidays and don’t use daily. If money is no issues and/or you’re a big Kate Spade fan? You won’t be disappointed. It’s the kind of dish you’d hand down eventually.

This is a five star item for many reasons. The main thing i love about this quality dish from the trusted Kate Spade company is it is not too detailed so as to assure that it matches with any china collection. I am am fan of bone china for the safety of no residual chemicals ever emitting form it making it super safe but also for its transparent qualities. I was able to shine a mag light in it and saw the beam go right through. Bone chine should be able to pass light through it and you should be able to see through it holding it up to a bright light source. The design around the rim of the bowl is a classic black with white spacing. This bowl looks like it could of been from any age making it very traditional in a solid color way. There is a gloss to the entire bowl that allows it to stand out even though it is mostly white. I placed this in a china cabinet and found it displays nice in the center. I have looked into other bowls similar to this in the Kate Spade catalog and there were other neat bowls that were similar but for me had too much design all over the bowl. This solid white color design is definitely more to my taste. This works well as a serving dish because of the bottom part that acts like a stand so as to hold the contents firmly inside the bowl. I am super happy with this perfect serving bowl and highly recommend it.
