Quick and easy
We had the cartridge fail in our old sink faucet & did not want to replace the whole thing, as we have a renovation planned for the spring. A part search found this unit, which was delivered 36 hours later, dropped into place in 60 seconds and works better than I ever recall the faucet before. The action is smooth and it holds wherever you leave it, whereas the old cartridge had worn down to basically on or off. I hate doing plumbing work, and this was about as easy as could be. * If you damage the plastic retaining nut when removing the old cartridge, be sure to order the brass replacement that's attached to this unit's listing. It's about $15, but will last forever, so long as you put a little grease on the threads so it doesn't seize with time.

Fits 974-570 but careful with the gaskets! And get new retaining ring.
In the product description, it says that this 974-035 is a replacement for the discontinued 974-570. The older 974-570 is on the left. Note the slightly different shape of the holes. At first, when I installed the new 974-035, it leaked, and I wrote a negative review, now retracted! You have to be careful that the old gasket is fully removed from the faucet with the old cartridge. (The new gasket is the black rubber in the picture on the right.) You also have to fuss with the seating a bit, because of the difference in shape. Also, if you still have the old plastic retaining ring, you probably chewed it up getting the old cartridge out. Get the new brass replacement for the retaining ring (available on Amazon), it makes a big difference.

Pfister 9740350 Genesis 26 Series Cartridge Sub Assembly
Our Pfister "The Marielle" Kitchen Faucet, purchased in 2003, needed a new Cartridge but the original (#974-074) has been discontinued and the 9740350 is supposed to be the replacement. BUT....it doesn't fit because the lower diameter is about 1/16" larger than the original. I called Pfister and they said the 9740350 is the correct one and the only one available. I started searching around for the original and finally found one at my local Ace Hardware that is the exact duplicate. Installed and the faucet is back to working again.

Easy to Install & Good Replacement
Our older faucet began to leak and they don't make the exact same cartridge anymore, but Pfister listed this as the replacement. We liked the features of our faucet and it is in good condition, so this was a great way to keep what we liked and get the functionality back. It only took about 30 minutes to install the new cartridge and everything works great and there are no more leaks. In fact, the faucet is easier to turn on and adjust, as the mechanism in the new cartridge seems to glide more easily.

Who likes drips?
Product was much cheaper then found locally, delivered quickly and in original packaging. This was an exact replacement for the original which had lasted 26 year! Very easily installed with nothing but hand tools in about 15 minutes. It would be even quicker if I had to do it again. Good deal.

Does the trick for a few years
I can count on the sink to leak out the back every 3 years. Makes a big puddle in the middle of the night. I have gone thru 2 of them over the last 9 years and just recently replaced the faucet.

Good replacement part
Good replacement part. Only downside is that it is so smooth in operation that the weight of the handle lowers the handle and turns off the water when it is being used on low floor

Works, but backwards. . .
I have an old Price Pfister bathroom sink faucet that takes a 974-505 cartridge, which isn't made anymore. Price Pfister says this 974-035 is the replacement cartridge. This cartridge does fit correctly, and it does work. However, two things: (1) Be careful when you are tightening the plastic nut that goes directly over the cartridge. You must get it tight so the cartridge doesn't leak. But because that nut is plastic, you have to be careful to not damage the threads on the outside of the nut. Those outside threads are needed to put on the metal collar that goes on before re-installing the handle. (2) Depending on your faucet, your hot/cold may be reversed. Normally, cold is to the right, and hot is to the left (at least in the USA). The cartridge goes in only one way, and after install I now have hot on the right, and cold on the left. Annoying, but at least it's working.

The cartridge assembly was not exactly like the original one removed which had a washer for the entire base of the cartridge but it still fits and works perfectly, no more leaks. https://www.amazon.com/Pfister-Single-Ceramic-Cartridge-974-505/dp/B005E0M8TW/ref=sr_1_29?qid=1561520784&refinements=p_89%3APfister&s=kitchen-bath&sr=1-29 was the original, but this seems to work better, cheaper and quick shipping.

Hot and Cold now reversed!
I installed this product on the recommendation of Pfister but now the Hot and Cold positions are reversed (Hot to the right, Cold to the left)
