Nice chest pack
Very nice pack for the money. It seems very well made. It would be nice if the front compartment would lay flat to give you a better work area. Also it could use a strap between the neck and back strap to keep pressure off your neck.

This is a nice chest pack, with enough room to keep everything I need for an afternoon of fishing. It is light, fits well. However the zipper pull connection to the slide is open on one side, allowing tippet to easily get hung up in the slide. This happened several times as I was examining my fly, and the wind would blow the tippet across my chest pack. Because of the way the opening is slanted, it goes in much easier than it comes out. Otherwise, this is would be a great chest pack.

Great design but falling apart
I really like this bag a lot. It is great to be able to stand in the middle of a river and have everything i need in front of me. I used to have to walk over to the bank and take my pack off and go through it to get out what i need. The only thing i hate is that is tearing after inly having it 4 months. Update: i emailed the allen company and they told me i had to pay for shipping and they would look at it and decide if it was my fault or theirs. It was theirs. It had bad seams. Very good customer service. It took them a little longer than i wanted to get it back but i have a new bag now so yay! I had 3 stars but now i have changed it to 4 because of the trouble i had to go through

This thing has been an excellent addition to my wadefishing arsenal. I believe I've used it in some situations that further justify its quality, saltwater being one of those situations. With any metal, saltwater is always a potential problem. The zippers on this bag have held up excellent. It's also the perfect size to carry multiple lures and other items, yet not too big or bulky. I'm able to sling it to one side or to the back. The shoulder strap will in fact dig a little if you put too much in the bag, as weight becomes an issue. But that is purely about being comfortable. The bag itself has held up to the added weight. The design is well thought out also, as you can actually work out of the bag and use it as a platform of sorts when tying on new lures, etc. This is definitely worth the money for wade fishing.

Nice large chest pack to hold everything you need.
Great chest pack if you want the pack that will carry most everything you need. This is a large pack that replaced my fully loaded vest. I use to hold two large fly boxes, 1 small fly box, pliers, extra tippet and line and still have plenty of room for more. D- ring on neck strap is perfect for attaching a net, I used a magnetic release to quickly detach my net. Great for anyone that doesn't want the old school vest and wants a large pack to carry most everything you would need on the river or lake for a day of fishing. Well made and comfortable to wear just be aware that it is large so if you want something compact this is not the pack for you.

So far really do like the function and storage ability of this size. Can be used for a great option and tried it a few times for front storage while hiking. Will try it for fishing and hunting next. Can hold a multitude of items binoculars, maps, snacks, concealment, etc. Could use a drink holder outside pocket would be great. The biggest issue is that wish it was a double over the shoulder strap like a back pack would be instead in the back of the neck holding all the weight. Maybe with some Molle/Pals webbing. They are already far ahead of any other front chest pack.

Received this yesterday in good order. Shipping was fast and packaging was also very good. Now on to the vest pack. This Allen vest is perfect. I spent a lot of time researching for a vest I could use to carry only what I really need for fly fishing in a compact pack. Now that I have seen and held it first time, I think I can also go with taking a lot more for situations (trips) that may require other stuff. I see it as a tween size.The quality is very good and has 6 pockets of good size to carry almost any fly fishing items you may want to carry. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this vest to anyone. For half the price of big name brands this is a super deal.

Practical item. Loads of storage for stuff. Fits well over thick jackets when it's wet and cold. When warmer adjustable to fit then too. Easily changed . Comfortable to wear . Great product .
