Fun, has design flaws
This is really fun! It is the first puzzle ball I have ever had like this and it's really great! I got it to help improve hand-eye coordination for myself. The marble doesn't always stay on the track when it should, sometimes it gets stuck in places it shouldn't, and some of the components stick making the marble fall off track.

Meh.
Ball doesn’t stay on the track no matter how careful you are, really poor design which is almost impossible to use. Son messed with it for a few hours and got bored and now it’s just a dust collector. Disappointed.

Fun distraction
Love this thing. I keep it on my desk at work for my coworkers and I to play with when we need a break. It's fun and a nice distraction when work gets stressful and we just need a break.

Dang this is tough!
Bought it for myself, er, I mean my 8 year old girls! We have yet to legitimately make it half way through! This is a fun but frustrating game. I like that it has "practice" entries staged throughout the path which helps my emotional stability. My only concern is out of the box it warns of the delicate structures and shell. This doesn't instill confidence that it will hold up to an accidental drop or my fury! Good luck if you get this. No seriously, good luck!

Frequently stuck marble necessitates force that can break ball
**Update: I contacted Spin Master, the seller of the maze ball, about the problem, and they offered to replace it! Excellent customer service. I'd rate the product 4.5 stars if I could, since the ball does get a little stuck, but since they're giving me another chance, I'm happy to round up.** Original review: Got this for my 11-year-old son, but the whole family loves playing with it, including my husband and me and our 20-year-old daughter. It's a challenge even for adults (the farthest any of us have gotten in a week is challenge 35 out of 125), but not so hard that my 11-year-old has gotten discouraged yet. The reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that the little metal ball frequently gets caught in narrow spaces between parts of the maze and the plastic sphere. There's a sticker on it that says "Due to Epic's sculptural nature, please handle with care," but you have to bump it with your hand to get the ball unstuck, and the last time it got stuck, nothing but a pretty firm bump would get it unstuck, and then the plastic sphere cracked and a little piece of it fell in! Dang it! I was surprised how thin the plastic sphere was and frustrated that the way the maze ball was designed (with the ball getting stuck so frequently) prevents us from handling it with as much care as we would otherwise. NOTE: The picture shows the ball after I accidentally rolled it off the kitchen counter onto the linoleum floor after the initial break. The original piece that fell out was much smaller, about 1 inch by 1/2 inch.

Great game - confusing which colour you will receive
There's two versions of this Perplexus Epic game being sold by Amazon, at two different prices. Its utterly confusing and they keep switching the images around from listing to listing. One is the blue/light grey version, and the other is purple and yellow. Both are the 'Epic' and have the exact same 125 puzzles though so at least there's that. I'm guessing Spinmaster has brought out an updated version, but its unclear which is the 'new' one - reviews on what was the purple one the other day suggest its thinner plastic/cheaper construction so I'd guess that's the newer version (all the images have now swapped round on the Amazon listings so who knows). I ordered one off the purple listing as it was cheaper, and still received a blue/light grey one. The one that was the blue/light grey more expensive one now has the purple one as its picture and vice-versa. Mystifying stuff, and seems a bit of a lottery which one you will receive - also impossible to tell which reviews apply to which colour version - I'm now unsure if I got the one with thinner plastic which had the ball get stuck in places as some reviews suggested. :S Anyway, we got this for our 8 year old son, he's played around with friends Perplexus puzzles from about the age of 6 so figured I'd get him his own. Aside from the confusion over which colour version you're going to get, this is a good game. Its kept him occupied for hours trying to solve the puzzles. So far with the blue/light grey one, we've not had the ball get stuck, and the plastic seems pretty robust. The toy itself I'd happily recommend to other parents, its nice to see our son do something that improves his problem solving, patience and motor skills and doesn't involve his little brain being sucked out by Youtube ;) If you're looking for a gift for a kid of probably 6-7+ then they'll love this and it'll keep them busy for hours - but it will depend on the kid a bit. Our youngest is 5 and has had a few goes with this that ended quickly with tears and frustration, whereas his older brother (8) loves it and will sit quietly for ages trying to solve it. Highly recommended - but just be prepared to not necessarily get the colour version you were expecting!

Intricate, challenging, beautiful.
We bought this for a friend / roommate. It soon became a toy for the whole "family". Currently sitting on the centre of the main table, it gets used everyday as we exchange scores (given by the numbers of segments conveniently written on it). It's been a few weeks now, and yet no one reached the end. Each advances is oddly satisfying. Not too hard, yet hard enough for it to be a meaningful achievement. Probably worth the investment, especially if you have people to share it with. Of course it gets dirty fast with so many hands playing, but a simple Kleenex will get it from getting too foggy easily. It also comes with a little circular stand in order to keep it as a weird art deco piece of non-euclidean architecture. We'll probably tire of it someday... but not yet. As far as entertainment goes, it is certainly worth its price.

Awesome gift!
This was bought for an 8 year old boy…..but it seems the entire family wants to try it. It’s hard, and will take many, many, many tries to even get part way through the maze. Awesome toy….great value….well made….giftable to an adult too!
