Perfect Replacement for my 2004 Glastron GX 185

I only used the new lens and it clipped into the existing light so I can't comment on wiring the new light to the boat.

Hot incandescent bulb and bad water proofing

It has 18 gauge wire. Copper dipped into tin makes it solid instead of stranded. Bulb is incandescent and gets hot. Tons of holes in bottom. Does not come with gasket. You will need to apply alot of sealant around the base. And silicone between the plastic and metal of light housing.

Better then factory !! Great fit !!

This is MUCH BETTER then the factory installed Atwood light that came installed on my 2012 Monterey 204FS. My original light had gotten crushed under a bulkhead top finishing board while tying up during at very low tide. It was all plastic and really didn't fill the teardrop shaped space in the bow. The Perko is much better made and fills the space perfectly. It has a full metal chrome top (base and lense are plastic). It looks great and has a very bright light. Installation was pretty easy for most "do it yourselfers" but a couple of things to note. This uses a 2 screw mount and my old one was 3. Of course none of the holes lined up so I had to drill new ones. It DOES NOT come with screws. While I could I have used the old ones I used new stainless just to be sure I had a good bite in the new holes. I filled the old holes and new holes with marine silicone caulk before installing. The other key item is the 2 lead wires coming out of the light are stranded BUT fully soldered below the outer jacket/insulation. The wires in the boat were plain stranded wire. I would HIGHLY recommend you have a soldering iron available to insure a full secure connection. Having shrink wrap to cover the connection would be a bonus but good quality electrical tape will also work. I HIGHLY recommend this light.

Great Light...

Replaced my cracked, worn out light with this one. Bulb was included, so I kept my old bulb as a spare. Light is just as advertised and I'm a happy boater att night!

Wish it was LED

I will would have given this product five stars instead of four if it used LED bulbs. But it is not use LED bulbs, which seems antiquated in this day and age When LED bulbs are now the standard.

Worked perfectly but . . .

I wish it came with the quick connect fitting but I guess that's specific to each manufacturer. As a result, I had to splice the wires and spray it with sealant.
