My boys did not like these
I was trying to find a size 1 brown shoe that could be used as part of my kids regular uniform days at school (non-dress). Both my sons wear the same size shoe, but my younger son has feet that are slightly on the wide side, but not wide enough to require a W shoe. He also has two different size feet, so he is very picky about the fit and feel of a pair of shoes. I tried them on him first. He hated these shoes. He is used to Stride Rite, and he said these didn't go up high enough on the back/sides like he was used to. He said the toe area was too tight (no way to fix that even when adjusting lower velcro strap). He refused to wear them even for 5 minutes. So I tried them on my older son, who also wears a size 1. His feet are medium to slightly narrow, so I had hope these would work for him. He hated them too. I don't know if these didn't give as much support as the other shoes the boys are used to or if it was lack of support or what. He couldn't articulate why he hated them - he just insisted they felt wrong and to take them off. I'm certain that buying the next size up would not have helped in my sons' circumstances because the shoes fit (except for toe box on my younger son being a bit narrow). I don't like giving only 2 stars because my kids hated the way these shoes felt, but, unfortunately, I do have to send them back. All kids' feet are different, and I pray that other kids are not as picky about shoes as my kids are, so maybe they will work for your child. I don't know. They are nice looking brown athletic shoes - as nice in person as they are in the picture. They would have worked nice for our uniforms on non-dress days if my kids had liked them.

Great school shoe.
The sneakers look great. I bought them for my 5 yr old who needs all black sneakers for school. They fit small so I had to get a whole size bigger. They are also slightly narrow. My son's only complaint is that they keep his feet hot. I noted that his socks are a bit clammy when he comes home, so not very breathable. School has been in session for 7 weeks now. The sneakers are holding up very well on thr play ground too, the soles are made of heavy duty rubber that isn't wearing away or coming apart; stitched and glued. Here is a picture of the new shoe on the left ( i will keep the smaller size for my 3 yr old) and the shoe he has worn daily for 7 weeks on the right. I like the sneakers and would by again. My 3 yr old has narrower feet so it shouldn't be a problem.

These awesome shoes are super flexible
I have no idea why people have left 2 star reviews...I have been buying Pedipeds since my son learned to walk. These awesome shoes are super flexible, the quality is fantastic and the price very reasonable for what you get. My son is 5, his foot is size 12. The first pair ordered in 12.5-13, his toes were touching the ends already. We returned it and bought the 13-13.5 size, put the extra insole they provide you with and they fit PERFECTLY. When his feet grow more, we will just take out the extra insole and I won't have to buy another pair of shoes right away. He also doesn't like his feet to get hot, we live in the desert and the last 2 days were 115* and 117* degrees. He wore the shoes at school all day and loved that they didn't make his feet hot and felt so good when running also. FYI, I know it's not easy to find great shoes as they get older but these are it.

Great shoes, great price, look insanely cute!
My 2 year old has uber fat feet, and can only wear Pedipeds, which is a drag cuz Nike, New Balance, Converse, etc. all make CRAZY CUTE shoes for little guys. Thankfully my wife and I found Pedipeds, as they look just as cute as shoes from the other guys, but they also fit his (adorable) little sausage feet. This particular pair has more of a hiking boot look to them (like tiny Merrells or something), but Pediped also makes sneakers that are totes adorbs. Also very happy with how well these hold up, as he continues to outgrow them LONG before they fall apart, or even really get dirty. Can't go wrong with Pedipeds, and we'll keep buying them until my poor little guy grows into his (incredibly cute) sasquatch feet. :)

Quality
I appreciate how well-made this shoe is. I purchased this brand because my child had horrible flat feet and hypronation. I did find that there's not a whole lot of arch support but the shoe does seems to correct the stance and give support where it's needed.

Love the shoe but meant for older toddlers
I purchased these for my 14 month old who has been walking since 10 months and now running. I think these shoes are meant for older toddlers as the sole is very heavy and stiff. I'll continue to purchase the Grip n Go versions until my son is about 2 or 3. The Pediped website indicated their Flex line is for confident walkers so I thought my son fit the profile.

These are our favorite indestructible school shoes
These are our favorite indestructible school shoes.... By now I have a collection of various sizes from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. The fit is a little tight (adjustable by adding or removing the insole) but once you get it right, you just go up in size as your child grows. Very versatile.

Ugly but a workhorse
I hate how these look - but countless reviews advised that they are sturdy and supportive while being lightweight and flexible. Perfect for a growing toddler. I have to agree, they really are designed with the child's best interests at heart. They come with additional inserts to get the best fit possible.

These are SO worth the money! Put them on my son for the first time today and he was so comfy in them and they seem super durable. I bought a size 8 even though he is not quite a 71/2, but with the added insole they fit perfectly. They are very flexible, with a heel cushion and the reinforced toe is really quite tough. The best part is they're vegan!

Great for little ones with high instep and/or wide feet!!!!
My 4 year old son has a high instep and a wide foot, I used to find it very difficult to find shoes that do not hurt his feet. After being recommended Pediped shoes, my little boy has never had any problems since. I bought these for his school shoes when he starts in reception this year. He finds them easy to put on himself and do the Velcro up and has been wearing them already without any problems. Although these shoes are expensive, hence the 4 star rating, you get what you pay for. I would rather have the peace of mind that he will be comfortable in them & I won't have the consequence of sore blistered feet to manage. Be advised that you need to find out which Pediped shoe is suitable for wide feet before you buy, as some Pediped shoes do come up a little narrow. Luckily these don't. I bought my son a size 11 even though he is a size 10 at present, I have used the insole that comes with them to take them down to the 10 size, so he gets more use out of them. So your value for money goes a little further with them. These are a winner with my son and my self.

Not for use in damp Conditions
I purchased two pairs in October 2015, for my twin 7 year olds. They fit well and both boys said they felt good to walk in. I live in the south west of the Republic of Ireland and the shoes were worn for school only. One pair was replaced before the end of the first month as the rubber toe guard came unstuck. Now the material on the upper is peeling off on both shoes and they have many white patches which let in moisture. Also, on a damp day they are very very slippy and both boys regularly slip and fall when playing. All in all not a good purchase for me. It appears they do not function well in damp conditions and in NW Europe they are not quite the rugged autumn / winter shoe as marketed,

Good quality shoes.Fit true to size.My boy has quite wide feet..and these are very comfortable.Great tread too..flexible but grippy. Insoles well padded so very comfy. The leather is supple but thick..and wears really well..he has been wearing these at school for 3 months..and they don't have a scuff anywhere.
