Best volleyball ever
Packaging needs to be better. Deflated ball in a plastic bag, thrown into a box. The volleyball itself is perfect. Real leather, indoor use only.

Looks and feels great
I got this gold volleyball for my display at a tournament, and it looks great, got a lot of compliments on it and even people asked if I was selling these. Highly recommend. Great buy.

Favorte of my volleyballs. Excellent game ball.
I have over 30 volleyballs in my ball bag. This is the team’s favorite leather ball. They have started to show some wear, but I think that is because they were hit against a not so smooth (painted cinder block wall). We now only use them for play. We use the synthetic balls to warm up with.

Cant find a better value on a 5W-Gold Tachikara, just give the leather time to stretch!
Decided to post a review since someone else just left a one-star review. I ordered this ball because it was the least expensive of the 5W Gold series and because my son is half Mexican. Tachikara makes a lot of cheap balls, but the 5W Golds are the best ones. These are the official leather game balls we used to use in high school. For some reason, this version is considerably less expensive than the all white ball and other color patterns. I was concerned I would receive an inferior ball, like one of those cheaper composite leather Tachikara balls, but it is the real deal. Now these balls have a dual bladder so you have to be careful to pinch it properly when inserting the needle. I followed the instructions (as did the other reviewer, it would seem) when I filled the ball, yet when I picked it up the next day it seemed to have lost some air. I again inflated the ball and yet again the following day it seemed to be a little low on air. At this point, I thought I got a bad one and would have to return it, but it wasn't missing as much air the second time as it was the first time, so I decided to fill it one more time. That was two weeks ago and the ball as held air perfectly since. I would therefore chalk this up to the stretching of the leather. So my advice to anyone who thinks they have a defective ball is to fill it a couple of times before giving up. Amazon has a lenient return policy so you can always return it within 30 days if it still won't hold air. I'll be keeping mine, however. Great value on a terrific ball for young players who aren't ready for the firmer Mikasa MVA200 or Molton 5000 balls that are more popular with adult players.

Don't bother for new players. Great for experienced players
I bought several balls for my Rec league all male ~25 year old team. Wal-mart brand = horrible. Feels like a rock. I have thrown this one away. This was the first one I bought, and led me to find others. Random other ball = fine, but not completely spherical This ball (Tachikara sv5w....) Tachikara No Sting - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TPNDEU/ref=oh_details_o09_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The 'No Sting' one was $15, and everyone I played with preferred it. ( I didn't tell them it was essentially made for 12 yr old girls) As for an actual review of this one I can't provide much of a review because we always play with the other... Which everyone prefers. ________________________________________________________________________________________ 2 year review: July 2016 I'm changing this from a 4 to a 5 star review. Since my previous review I've been actively playing quite a bit of volleyball and I have some more insight. I do still support my claim that if you have completely new players, then this ball is not needed. If you're just wanting something physically to hit with new players, potentially outside, find something else, don't bother spending the extra money. Don't bring that other ball I recommended to pick up with people who know what they are doing though... If you want to play an actual game, this is a really great ball which is respected by a lot of actual players. As a setter I actually prefer the Molten 'Flistatec' ball these days. The molten has a lot more grip initially. The Tachikara kinda has to be broken in whereas the Molten starts in its prime and quickly degrades. So the Tachikara probably has more longevity for its 'peak' playing, but really it's just preference. If you've really never seen either of these two balls before, find where they do indoor pick-up around you, and likely you will find both balls so you can try them out before you buy. https://www.amazon.com/Molten-FLISTATEC-Volleyball-Official-White/dp/B0063NDCGW/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

Good ball
Ball is well made. My group consists of recreational players only. Feedback from half of the group was that the ball felt 'too light'. I voted to use the Tachikara, but we ended up playing with our previous purple/yellow Mikasa

Great ball.

Great volleyball, panels have issue lifting.
Love these balls but sometime the panels in the corner lift and can peel. Easily fixed with rubber cement to stick down the corners that peel but for new balls this shouldn’t happen.

Great ball
Great volleyball. Inflated and was ready to go. It was not hard on the arms like other balls you need to break in first.
