Good for kids at certain early stage
I have taught tennis to kids and adults alike before, but always with normal balls. With my 6 and 8 year old kids starting out, I found these balls...nice reviews and supposedly approved and certified for kids use, so I thought what the heck. Out of the bag I found these balls meet the descriptions - bigger and softer. Definitely no air in them! With my thumb I can squeeze the ball flat! The kids love to play them in the house throwing at each other! On the court, with younger kids playing for the first time, I always just toss the balls. These none-bouncy balls are very hard for me to toss them to get a decent bounce. In order for the balls to arrive in front of them at the waist level, I either have to toss harder (line drive), or toss higher than usual and bounce near them. That usually will "scare" the kids enough to back up. So I wouldn't say these balls are good for true beginning kids. I think the regular pressure-less balls are better to feed by hand. However, I tried on kids that have gotten the fundamentals down enough where I can feed the balls over the net with my racquet for better results. The balls are hit with enough force that they have horizontal velocity. But these balls have so little air in them, even an advanced player like me had to assert a lot more strength to get the ball over the net (without exaggerated heights) let alone kids. Once kids can hit the ball consistently, it's important for them to get the feel how the ball realistically travel. As a long time tennis instructor, I learned to "neutralize" the bounce of regular balls for beginners by "slicing" a bit to reduce speed and bounce. So these balls don't help . But the size of the ball is definitely an advantage. So overall, I see these balls being great for instructions during a specific time period where a kid is learning to play the game. If the child is active in learning and learning at a good pace, then I see the useful of these balls for only 5 to 10 sessions before ready for regular size pressureless balls. For a tennis instructor, these are great as they can be used in a specific learning phase of each kid. For pro-shop these balls are a no brainer as items to stock for rental. For individual buying them for private use, it's value is debatable.

NOT AS GOOD AS WILSON
My son has moved up from the red balls to the orange ones. For the red balls, we were using the Penn QST 36 so this review is in comparison to that ball as well as the Wilson Orange Dot which his coach uses. When these arrived, I was pretty excited to get on the court and start practicing with these new balls. However before getting to the court, I noticed a couple issues. 1) This ball seems slightly smaller than the red Penn's that we were using. 2) The bounce only seems slightly more than the red Penn's and not what it should be for an orange ball. These balls will do if in a pinch, but there are better ones out there.

Wonderful teaching tool for kids
I've played tennis for more than 20 years. When my son was ready to start, these balls make it much easier than the new Penn or Wilson tennis that I generally play with. There's less bounce to them, which gives him time to learn how to respond to the ball. I remember teaching children with very old used balls to get the same effect. Now he takes lessons at the local public center and they use these balls as well for the children (8-12y/o). Reading the other reviews, I had no problem with the way they arrived. They are round, bounce perfectly like other tennis balls, but have less of a kick to them, which is great for beginners. Highly recommended for new players.

Not as 'bouncy' as the Penns.
These balls don't bounce as well as their Penn counterparts. We ended up having to return them, unfortunately. I was excited about having them in 'Subscribe and Save', but they just didn't get the job done. Too bad.

My dogs favorite ball.
My dog LOVES these damn balls. She doesn’t like regular tennis balls because she is a bit of a chewer and they are just too hard. With these she can gnaw on them and she loves chasing them and ripping them to shreds. Definitely the only kind of ball she likes. Good deal and will continue to buy often because she does fly through them.

Bought for ME, a big kid
I am in my 50's and have a grandson age 7 that is winning local tennis competitions. I decided it was time I try to play some tennis since it is great exercise and fun. I quickly discovered that the regular balls are too fast for me. I can barely hit them and don't have good control. I also have some problems with my wrist and the hard (regular) balls kind of ricochette that energy through my wrist, arm, and then up my shoulder. These balls make tennis a lot more fun for me. I can SEE the balls since they are so bright. I can HIT the balls since they don't come at me so ridiculously fast. The balls don't hurt me (since they are softer) to hit or get hit by them. I don't know if I'll ever have a reason to switch. These provide plenty of challenge and make playing fun. I'd say they are for kids of all ages!
