Comal for traditional tortillas
Perfect combined with the 10.5 inch Victoria Tortilla Press. Together, good for the kitchen and good for a gift as well. Comes pre-seasoned, but I still applied avocado oil lightly to entire surface and baked it to give a very good seasoning. Being flat, it takes little room on a shelf.

Finally, something I can't burn and ruin on the stove.
Even though maintenance is quite different than any of my other pots and pans. I really needed a griddle to cook some tortillas. My sister bought one nonstick, that I actually walked away while I let it heat up. I come back to find the black nonstick lifted from the griddle because of the heat. It was permanently ruined so I bought this cast iron one and can proudly say I will no longer go back to nonstick pans. This pan is so awesome it will probably outlive me lol

Surprisingly Great!
I gave a family heirloom, cast-iron skillet to my son. Then I needed a replacement, fast. The "heirloom" I gave away was so perfectly seasoned. How would I replace that? Well... I honestly did not need to "season" this one! I used it, just washed once, right away, and have done so ever since. Roti, crepes, tortillas, whatever. This was surprisingly a great purchase. I do recommend. I really do!

I use all the time on my electric stove.
I really missed heating tortillas from my previous house where we had a gas stove. But this pan does the trick. Takes a few minutes to heat up on the electric stove but works perfect.

Great comal from Colombia
Very sturdy and it looks like more a cast iron pan than a Mexican comal, easier to find at least here in Texas. This exactly why I picked up this one, because it is heavy and it perfectly spread heat uniformly. I made tortilla de maiz Azul yesterday and they cooked like a charm. Very happy. The cleaning is easy, but not for dish washers addicts as it is cast iron so it would rust. Dry it immediately for the same reason. I always put a layer of avocado oil before storage to avoid rust as it is humid where I live. At such a low price this comal is a win win and especially because its diameter allows you to make also French crepes, YES!

Sticky Pan
I initially thought this would be a good, reliable griddle pan - I read the instructions and how to treat it before first use. At first the top surface stayed good; even though I cleaned it as instructed, quickly chappatis started sticking to the top surface and when trying to clean the surface it has lost its black coating...very quickly. Even the underside has started showing rusty iron! The pan itself is quite heavy (& may affect weaker wrists) and the handle become too hot to handle because it is small and not very high above the top surface - heat flows beneath the handle too! I had to purchase an insulated handle cover just so I could pick up the hot pan. Sadly a disappointing product.

Amazing quality
Its works just great.. i had changes many griddles in the past as all the other nob stick griddles keeps deforming on glass top electric cook top. This one stays sturdy .. and also cooks well and fast at low heat. So far so good.

Not idea for making chapatis
I bought this pan primarily for making chapatis as I wanted to switch from normal pans to iron skillet. But I am not happy with how the chapatis turn out. seems like they don't get cooked properly, come out as dry and not nice tasting. Haven''t tried for anything else yet.

Hands down!
Hands down the Victoria pan is the best cast iron pan ever! I bought the 10” and I will be buying the 12”. Easy to clean. NOTE important to never let it soak in water, it’ll rust and that’s normal, it’s cast iron! Once clean and dry, dab with a bit of olive oil or other cooking oil and it will keep its shine. Highly recommend this pan.

Quick and delicious crepes!
We have been struggling to own a proper griddle to make quick pan cakes, dosas and wheat tortillas (Chapatis) as our coil stove automatically reduces heat after a certain temperature as part of some safety measures. With this griddle, the Cooking time reduced by more than 90% as the heat distribution is quick and even plus the food tastes delicious too. The downside is that the handle gets heated up so better to hold it with mittens. It needs good care but it's simple too(Comes with instructions). Just wash like any utensil, clean the surface with a cloth and apply oil thereafter. Iron griddles are far better than those non-stick pans for our health so a bit of maintenance is totally worth it.
