Versatility and Value
I am a fan of Victoria Cast Iron skillets, they offer excellent quality at a surprisingly low price. The comfortable handle and relatively smooth finish make for an enjoyable cooking experience right out of the box. Although the factory seasoning is decent, I'd recommend some additional seasoning and cooking fatty foods initially to enhance the skillet's non-stick quality. The last I bought was the 8 in skillet. The skillet has been versatile in my kitchen, performing well for various tasks such as searing steaks, toasting, cooking eggs, and even baking bread. I find the 8-inch version to be perfect for single-person use due to its maneuverability. For those cooking for a family, the 12-inch version may be more suitable given its larger cooking surface, although it is significantly heavier. I'd also add taht even the smaller 8-in and the 6-in have great heat retention. I also own the Dutch Oven, which has been equally impressive. It's perfect for a variety of dishes, from baking to slow-cooking beans, and transitions seamlessly between the stove and the oven. It is also great for frying large amounts of food since it retains heat so well. I highly recommend the Victoria Cast Iron for its outstanding performance, versatility, and excellent value.

Finally a keeper?
I’ve been through at least 5 cast iron skillets in about 10 years including Lodge, Smithey, and a couple vintage ones. They’ve been smooth, they’ve been rough, they’ve been American/French/Chinese made, they’ve been seasoned by the manufacturer, they've been seasoned by me… and every. single. one. got taken to Goodwill because 1) they never acquired nonstickiness and 2) the seasoning wouldn’t stay put. And yes, I’ve done the elaborate rituals, smoked out my kitchen, turned my oven into a kiln, used beeswax and vegetable oil and lard and no soap and soap and no water and water and whispered the ancient incantations to no avail. Seasoning flaked off, eggs stuck, rust spots appeared even after thorough reseasoning, and eventually I switched to enameled cast iron. But when Victoria popped up on the Gram, I had this nagging “maybe just one more try…” and I’m so glad I did. Here’s why: 1. The factory seasoning is excellent; I’ve cooked everything from eggs to scallops to baked goods without much issue which I NEVER could say about my previous pans, some of which required stripping & seasoning. The frittata in the pictures when from stovetop to oven and came out easily with minimal sticking. 2. The pan is flat on the bottom which is great if you have a ceramic cooktop like me. 3. The handle is curved and stays cool(er) relative to other skillets. I’d still pickup an oven mitt or sleeve, but I can slide it around on the stove without burning myself. 4. Second handle and pour spouts - a lot of “premium” skillets costing over $150 don’t have these! 5. It seems to heat more evenly than either my Lodge or my Staub pans… I don’t get hot spots or scorching. 6. And yes, I wash mine gently in soapy water, then oil it per Victoria’s instructions with *no damage* to the seasoning. In terms of price per feature and minimal fuss, this is the best all around cast iron skillet I’ve used and I actually look forward to throwing different recipes at it. Hopefully this stays in my kitchen for years to come.

Works on induction stove, but only non-stick with butter
I’ve been using this pan for a few months now and I like it, the only thing is that my egg will stick if I use olive oil or vegetable oil and it is only non stick if I use butter. This has been consistent so I thought I’d come here and leave this information for others. It also takes a few uses to become non stick like other cast iron pans. It works great on my induction stove. Hope that helps.

Perfect for everyday family cooking!
I purchased this item in 2021. It was excellent then and has only improved. I use this skillet at least 5 times a week. The heavy cast iron gives great heat distribution and retention and the two handles makes it easy to handle. The bottom is flat and hasn’t warped at all. The factory seasoning was adequate, but more textured than I prefer. I immediately added 3 coats of seasoning with vegetable shortening to smooth it out a bit. I wash it with water and add a little soap when necessary, but not often. I dry well and store it in the oven between uses with a light coat of oil. It takes a tiny bit more care than my stainless steel cookware, but the cooking experience is far superior. The size is perfect for cooking for a family of 7. We have a gas stove with an elongated center burner that is an ideal size, but it works well on the larger round burners as well. 100% recommend this to anyone who needs a larger cast iron skillet!

Just what I wanted
This pan holds a lot. It is well made and holds the heat well, very evenly. The coating is great- no need to season it. It is washable for easy clean-up. There is no downside- except of course it is heavier than a steel pan. I get a great sear on my steaks, then lower the temp a bit to finish the cooking. Better than a gas barbeque, I think! You can put this in the oven to finish a steak, as some do, but I start with a room-temperature steak and do it on the stovetop. I like my steaks medium rare, and this works out great! Very happy with this pan. Cheaper than the better-known brand, but just as good if not better.

Outstanding
After moving to a house that did not have a gas stove we missed cooking with our cast iron pans. Our new home came with an ultra modern inductive stove and we found our old cast iron wouldn't work properly because of a ridge around the bottom of the pans. We saw this pan online and sure enough its made for induction stove tops. So nice to be able to use cast iron again and the induction top gets the temp setting perfect every time. Love this pan!

12" skillet is Heirloom Quality. More costly (over x2@$47) than entry level but perhaps worth it.
I got the 12" skillet for $47. It's an heirloom quality piece of cast iron compared to what else is available on the market. This will likely be a piece you want to keep for the rest of your life or hundreds of years if you live that long in the future or potentially pass on as a family heirloom if you have children. The specially nice features are what they advertise, the long handle and the big pour spouts. Though the long handle can be a pain in the oven when used as bake-ware and also for storage efficiency it's still nice. The casting quality is also nice and the the seasoning is pretty good though a little fragile to scrapes. This makes it a good everyday pan if you are only cooking with one and have space in the kitchen. If you are using multiple pans at once, specially in the oven then multiple copies of this might not be space efficient. Cooking with up to two 12" skillet on the stove or one (per tier) in the oven this is great. Three or over 12" skillet and you might want a more space efficient Lodge or Lodge clone with a shorter handle. That or take a look at the Victoria 13" with the double handles instead but it's fairly expensive right now. This isn't cheap (at least here in Canada, though it's $30~ USD on Amazon.com and they briefly had a new model 12" on sale for $15.50 which is now unavailable.), the entry level stuff here is currently $20~ for a "Kichly" 12" skillet. That's what I'd recommend on a budget due to price if you are just testing cast iron cookware to learn about it and want to save money and aren't really sure if you are going to keep it. This one at this price is for people who have money to spare on something new and fun or really love cast iron already and want to collect it or to spend a lifetime cooking in and caring for this beauty. Other comparable pieces are usually more expensive, often more than double just like this is more than double the entry level price. The next cheapest comparable pieces (from pictures at least) are probably Ikea's 11" or 13" Vardagen cast iron skillets though it's not a direct comparison since they are an inch off either way. All that said I hope they lower the price rather than raise it to bring affordable quality to the masses. In cast iron cook with lots of oil and to clean it you can brush it out with your fingers and leave the grease in the pan without washing it to continue seasoning it. Just pour out any excess, spread the oil around and store upside down to prevent dust or hair settling in it. Then it will help season the next time heated. Even the long handle gets hot, always use oven mitts! Further minimize contact time cause it cooks good!

Just the job
I have been meaning to buy some black iron skillets for some time now to use on the Weber Kettle Grill and indoors. I started with the 8 inch, which is a handy size for smaller portions. On receiving mine the seasoning looked good but just to make sure I give it a further 10 coats in the oven. I have just made a bacon sandwich, the pan did not stick and the bacon was the crispiest I have had. Clean up was a breeze, I just poured in some boiling water whilst the pan was still warm and agitated with a basting brush. It was clean in no time, wiped out with a paper towel and put away for the next time. I intend to get the 10 and 12 inch. The shipping cost to the UK is reasonable considering the weight of these items. On the down side, having looked at the medium and the large size pans over the period of a week the price has been up and down like a yo yo. One day they are £20 to £21 and then up to near £30 and then down then up. ??? I have now got the 10 inch too. The pan is lovely and smooth, slightly smoother than the 8 inch but the seasoning on this one was a lot less finished. The 8 inch came jet black but the 10 inch was very much silver/ grey. However, that was not an issue as I have completed the seasoning myself and it is good to go.

I liked this cast iron skillet
I liked this cast iron skillet, the size is however super small, so only small batches can be cooked in a time, like one egg. This needs to be really seasoned well else things will start sticking fast like any iron skillet.

Very rough casting, nice pan after you grind the interior smooth
I have a large collection of Cast iron, this is pretty typical of your run of the mill cast iron. It came rough cast and pre-seasoned. The casting was so rough as to need grinding to smooth out the interior of the pan. After smoothing and re-seasoning, it had become a very nice pan, in fact, one of my favorites. Alas, it was on the top shelf of the outdoor kitchen of my camper, along with another 10" cast iron pan. Both pans fell from a height of 8 feet (after returning from a camping trip, where the pans shifted position and fell out onto a concrete driveway) This Victoria pan is now missing it's handle as a result, but the other pan fared no damage at all. Could be the way the pan landed, or maybe a flaw in the casting, or... Final say, loved this pan (after smooting the rough casting) handles were nicer than some of my other pans, overall, very nice cast pan.

Excellent quality cast Iron pan
Sturdy, well made and a joy to use once seasoned correctly. The ergonomically curved handle helps much more so than the flat handles of other cast iron pans. But be warned, this is a heavy brute and not for those with weak wrists! The additional grab handle helps in moving the pan around. Great quality and provides a superb surface for cooking all manner of things including the best steaks you will cook. Would 100% recommend and shipping didn't take too long either considering it was not UK stock!
