My new favorite
I did some research through Cook’s country and this was rated number one after all their testing . It has since become my favorite. It’s handy it’s sharp. It’s stores very nicely in a small space. There is a cover to keep the blades from getting dull. I cook for one most of the time, so having this small alternative works perfectly for me. The handle is easy to grip and gives you good balance when you’re grating cheese. Grating fruits and vegetables works well because it is very nice and sharp. I wouldn’t use it for large amounts, because then I just use my food processor, but for small jobs it’s perfect.

So easy to use
I have been mashing garlic for years. It can be tedious and takes time. This grader is the best thing ever! A clove is graded in seconds ready to use. Cleaning is a breeze. Personally I do not use the plastic to scrape all the garlic off the grader because the plastic absorbs the smell and my kitchen drawer then smells like garlic. I like scraping it with a regular blunt knife which works just fine. But that's just me, I am very sensitive to smells.

Great, but definitely not coarse. More medium or medium-fine.
This is a fantastic quality item, with every bit of the quality of a Microplane, at half the price. The only problem is, it’s definitely not course. It’s at best a medium, or medium-fine. If you’re thinking coarse, as in a shredded hash brown or grated cheese type of coarse, he will be disappointed with this. It is a very thin strip producing an end product that is much more mushy and soft than a true coarse grader would produce. Other than that, five stars.

Works, but not reliable
Works well as a grater. Sharp, ergonomic, efficient. Love it. BUT... in a few months of regular use (and we do put it in the dishwasher, of course), the plastic in the corner nearest the handle started to crack. It gets some pressure when you're grating something like a hard cheese, so it makes sense it would crack there. But... I would hope the designers would have accounted for that. I covered the crack with Sugru. And it hasn't gotten worse after about another year. So it's working fine. I give it 4 stars. 5 for utility. It loses two stars for being less-well-made. It gains one star back because Sugru could fix it.

Easy to use! Easy to clean!
My wife loves her box grater, but it is a pain to clean and takes up a lot of room. This grater is much smaller and is extremely easy to clean. The grater works well and is good quality, like most Oxo products.

Perfect replacement for the old box grater
I've had a bulky, hard-to-use, hard-to-store Kitchen Aid box grater for years. This OXO is perfect for coarse grating and shredding. It's easy to hold, and the curved end lets you rest it across the bowl and grate directly into it. It also works well at a 45-degree angle on a work surface, thanks to the coated curved end. Cleans easily, no little hidden open edges for water to hide in. So far, I've used this to coarse grate/shred hard cheese, a frozen stick of butter, and carrots. I tossed the hated Kitchen Aid grater in the trash.

Doesn't last long without cracking, but excellent customer service - replaced
Edited to add: After writing, I reached out to the company and with no questions asked, they sent out a replacement grater. Added 2 stars back for excellent customer service. I love this brand which made me very disappointed that after 5 months of use the orange part started cracking and breaking off in a few areas. It's sharp and grates well for cheese, but the plastic seems to be cheap. :(

Excellent
I love these. I purchased the yellow at my local store but they didn’t have the orange. I found the orange at Amazon. They are fantastic. Comfortable handles. They are sharp for grating cheese, ginger, garlic or anything else you might be prepping or cooking. I love that they have a cover for storage. They are dishwasher safe. I would recommend top rack because some parts are plastic. I’ve washed them many times and have not seen a speck of rust. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great stuff.
No need for the big box type grater now, this little wonder does my hash browns perfectly, but care must be taken to avoid finger cuts. I suggest welding gloves.

Best Zester/Grater Ever
I love this zester/grater. It definitely puts my old grater to shame. This is an absolute gem for the kitchen. So easy to work with and it zests and grates to perfection. Cleaning is a cinch. The quality is exceptional, very sturdy. If you don’t own one of these trust me you need to!

Woohoo ... it’s fabulous!
To think I’ve struggled ALL THESE YEARS trying to coax the smallest amount of zest from a lemon whilst unbeknown to me, everyone else was finding it a complete and utter doddle. This implement has been a game changer in my kitchen and the joy of finding this hugely efficient utensil has been so immense that I found myself literally searching for recipes which called for platefuls and platefuls of lemon/orange zest ???? Highly recommend.

Victorian torture device
I have never personally owned a grater because I find the traditional tower style incredibly annoying to clean so when I saw this design I thought - wow, maybe I can finally add grated carrots and cheese and such to my regular diet. I have used it twice since it arrived and can confirm it grates extremely well and is very easy to get fully clean after. However. On the first occasion I used it I was a little careless and grated a few (short) finger nails and got a tiny cut or two. So on the second occasion I used it I mentally checked myself to be far more careful and stop before I got near the end of the carrot etc etc and this time I grated off the tip of my index finger. Who needs the tip of their index finger anyway right? RIGHT? Blood, lots of blood everywhere, lots of pain. Can’t reattach it because it’s mixed in with my grated carrot. So glad I bought myself a Victorian torture device.
