I want to smell this way 24/7
You will not regret buying this lotion. I have Oribe everything. I have their Shampoo, Conditioner, Hairspray, Body and Hair Oil, Body wash, Lotion, Hand lotion, and perfume. I've also purchased numerous other hair products like texture spray, texture creams, etc. I will not use any other product. It will not leave your hair feeling greasy, will not feel a build up on your scalp like a lot of other products leave. The scent smells like money.

Love the product, hate the pump bottle
First, the good news: this is a fantastic body lotion. It’s Oribe, so you know it’s going to smell great and last forever. I only gave this iteration 3 stars because of the horrible idea of putting this super thick lotion in a pump-style bottle. This used to come in a lidded jar, so you could scoop out as much or as little as you’d like. With this pump jar, you will notice that when you use almost 3/4 of the product…that the lotion is too thick to dispense. You’re stuck turning the bottle over and dispensing the remaining product by hand. All of this to say that I hope Oribe brings back the original packaging.

Overpriced - Lackluster "moisturizing" and nothing-special smell
So...bottom line is I did not like this product. I've heard so much about Oribe, about how luxurious and unique and "special" the products and the smells are. I was also looking for a more elegant, less "in your face" replacement for the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, which is a fun spring and (definitely) summer scented, super moisturizing cream, but can be a bit much sometimes, especially if you want to layer other fragrances/signature scents as well. So I researched and researched and looked at top ten lists across various fashion and beauty blogs, magazines, etc., and decided to give this product a go after hearing and reading so much about it. It's a no for me for multiple reasons. (1) Not elegant. Now, let me unpack that. For the price, and for how much Oribe's products' reputation precedes it, I was underwhelmed. This is a plastic container, and not a cute one at that. It just does not "look" or say luxury. (And Oribe is supposed to be a luxury product, right?) So without even opening it up and trying it, that's a negative in my book. (First impressions and all.) Not sure what the reviewer who talked about how elegant the packaging was actually received in hand. (2) Does not moisturize any more so than a (WAY) cheaper Palmer's lotion, Shea Moisture lotion, Jergen's, Cetaphil, Vanicream, or (shock, gasp) my beloved bum bum cream. So, $65 for a moisturizer lotion that doesn't really....moisturize? Another negative. (3) The smell. Oh, where to begin here? There is nothing special about this scent. Let me repeat: NOTHING SPECIAL. It definitely doesn't catch my attention or hold it like my other (beloved) cream, and worse, smells like about a dozen other way less expensive drugstore brand options. As a matter of fact, not only does it not smell special, it doesn't smell more expensive than other brands. So that's three strikes for me. If I'm paying that for basically a lotion, it better sing to me. As a matter of fact, it should serenade me morning and night. And after searching and returning (thanks, Amazon prime!) several lotions, guess where I landed? Back to my favorite moisturizing cream in all the land. I now have a new found respect for it. Sorry, Oribe. I was rather hoping you would be The One.

Had a reaction to something
It’s got a pretty heavy fragrance & made me sneeze & I got kind of itchy. Gave it away.

Received used product
I believe this was a customer return—edges of box seams and flaps bent and worn down to base white paper. Bottle contents appear to be partially used.

Great moisturizer, Typical Oribe Quality (and Price)
If you know Oribe, you know three things about the brand: 1) it smells amazing, 2) it's good quality, and 3) it's very expensive. It is definitely a luxury product but there is a reason for it- there products work. I am mostly a fan of theirs due to the hair care products but after trying the body wash and now this lotion, I am a believer that whatever they touch turns to gold. Do I think this lotion is worth $60? Not really, there are others that perform just as well (or better) for less. However, this is still a very high quality product that works. It's not greasy and it moisturized my parched skin extremely well. It also has the signature fragrance but I found it to be more subtle than I expected. That is likely a good thing so it doesn't interfere with other fragrance. Overall, this is a great moisturizer that is a definite treat. I think it's a bit hard to justify the price point but for Oribe fans or those obsessed with the fragrance or just want a special treat, this is a good option.

Nuanced Citrusy Signature Scent, Gender Neutral But Leans More Feminine, Rich NonGreasy Moisture
This Oribe Cote d'Azur Restorative Body Creme is a highly fragranced and luxurious cream with Oribe’s signature scent that’s found in many of their products. I enjoy the scent and have used products with it such as the Côte d'Azur Replenishing Body Wash and Cote d'Azur Eau de Parfum. To me, this has an initial fresh and uplifting citrusy scent, but it’s sophisticated in that it evolves to a warmer, nuanced fruity-floral scent with hints of powder and spice. While it smells modern and rather clean, this scent does have depth and warmth from woody base notes traditionally used in men’s fragrance. The balance is somewhat gender neutral, though it leans a bit more to the feminine side. I enjoy the signature scent in this cream and Oribe’s Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum is a fragrance I already enjoy and wear on occasions when I think fragrance is appropriate (not one to wear perfume daily). The perfume and cream can be worn together for those who enjoy a stronger scent. I prefer applying this body cream as an alternative to the perfume as I don’t go for heavy fragrance and the scent lingers nicely on the skin and is long lasting. This cream has a lovely feel, smooths and absorbs well and is rich enough to moisturize my dry skin without being greasy or oily. Despite sensitivities, this cream hasn’t caused irritation or triggered allergy issues. This lux cream would be a lovely gift alternative or complement to the Oribe perfume. Love it. 5 stars.
