It's pretty good, but it will not work for everybody.

I really like how this has clear plastic pockets that let you see the contents within. The plastic is strong as well. It has 24 big pockets and 2 smaller pockets at the top. I also appreciate how this item came with the hooks to install it, many items like this in retail stores do not contain the hooks. The pockets are not that big, however. I am a guy with size 11 shoes so none of my shoes will fit. That is ok, since I already knew that before buying this. I bought this to store other things, especially video game related stuff. The big pockets work great for storing Nintendo Entertainment system cartridges. Three cartridges will fit in each big pocket, meaning you can fit 72 total in the big pockets. They also work good for small controllers (NES, SNES fit nice,even one ps2 controller will fit per pocket, but a n64 controller won't). Make sure you think about where this over the door bag is going to hang. The hooks do not fit great over the top of my door, so my closet door cannot close all the way unless I want to destroy all the paint on the door frame. Before buying, look at the top of your door and see how much open space is there when it is closed. Then check the measurements of the hooks to see if your door will close ok. Another problem with the hooks is that they are not wide enough to fit snugly over the top of my door. LIke, the hooks have a square shape at the top that is supposed to fit over your door, but if your door is too wide, the hooks won't be able to push down snugly on the top of the door, meaning they will sit up higher that the door when attaches by an inch or 2. If you have a skinny door this probably will not be a problem. So, this is a well made product overall, just be pessimistic and realize that there is a good chance it will not fit over your door very well.

A must-have for fiddly bits.

While I'm aware this is -meant- for shoes, I use it for just about everything but. The one I ordered is currently hanging on the back of one of the nursery doors and it holds all sorts of little fiddly pieces of baby paraphernalia that I need close by, but don't always have to have right on the changing table or out in the open. It easily holds extra tubes of destine, bulb syringes, nail files and clippers, extra batteries, etc. The top two extra wide pockets are perfect for our shot record booklets and the "caring for your newborn" book that most doctors offices give out around here that has medicine dosage information in it and all that good stuff. As far as the quality of the plastic, it seems sturdy enough to last for a while. The clips on the top of the door do not slip and dig into the door frame as a few others we've had have done. It also hangs flat right out of the box, so that's a plus. Also, I haven't noticed any of the weird chemical plastic smells that you get with some of the shoe organizers you order. Of course, I can't attest to how it works as intended - for shoe organization - but I don't see why it wouldn't be perfect for that, as well. We'll be getting another for our pantry soon.

Does what it should & should hold up well

I'm currently using this over-the-door shoe organizer/storage rack to corral mitten, scarves, and hats during this winter season. The pockets are plenty large enough to hold one of each item, for mittens it holds a pair, whether child or adult sized. I plan on swapping the winter gear with spring summer items (sunscreen, sun glasses, flip flops, smaller outside toy items like bubbles, etc) when the time comes. I am very happy with the quality and size of this organizer. The only issue I have with it are the over-the-door hooks. I was hoping I could use them over one of my outside doors but the doors are just too wide. Instead, for the moment it is hanging over a stormdoor between my kitchen and mudroom. It's not an issue worth rating it with less stars because ulitmately it's meant for the thinner doors on the inside of your home. I could probably fashion the hooks in a way to make it work but I think what I will do instead is use some of those stick-on/removeable hooks at the top of one of the doors and hang it that way. Since I bought two of them, I'm glad that the grommets at the top are plenty large enough for that. I should be able to hang the second one whereever I need it when I get around to it.

Very Happy

We bought two of these, wasn't sure what to expect or if we'd like, never bought anything like this before. We recently moved into a much smaller house, and space, or in our case lack thereof, is a major problem. We both have tons of shoes. some of mine I found room in my closet, but we have so many more shoes to put somewhere, what to do.? I read the reviews & some said a man's size 10 would fit, and some said they wouldnt fit, so couldnt wait to find out, (husband is size 10 1/2). We hung one in the laundry room, and the other in my bathroom. He uses the one in the laundry, and all his size 10 1/2 dress shoes fit nicely. His athletics don't fit in there as many reviews stated, just too bulky, but mainly he needed somewhere for all his dress shoes. I have several pairs of those really thick sketchers toning athletics, and i'm size 7, it's a tight fit, but i got those stuffed in just enough to hold, granted the shoe isn't down very far into the pocket, but they stay in there. Very pleased. Also using the top little pockets for misc items which come in so handy. Just what we needed~ Very satisfied.
