Perfect for Beach
This was very easy to open up a d pack away. I definitely recommend practicing closing it a few times inside before using it outdoors. It pops up fast (1 second) with no installation, which is exactly what I wanted. It has a screened window inside you can open and is big enough for two people to comfortably lay next to each other. A child under 37" can easily stand directly in the middle of the tent. Great for the beach or a park. It is too big for fitting in a suitcase.

HUGE, easy to use POP UP shade!
I did a LOT of research before committing to a pop-up shade. For some reason these things, no matter who makes them or how big they are, cost a small fortune. They're the same technology and maybe twice the materials as the $10 pop-up shades for your car windows, so I imagine the manufacturers of these things are filthy rich. Anyway, moving on. I wanted something that would POP up easily, fit my three kids and all of our gear, and give us adequate shade from the Arizona sun during various t-ball games, river outings, etc. This one by Picnic Time seemed like the clear winner, so i took the plunge and payed Amazon the exorbitant fee for this thing, EVEN THOUGH all the reviews said it was nearly impossible to close and put away. I figured, hey, I have a college degree and youtube, how hard can it be? So here's the deal: If you try to fold this thing up left to your own devices and logic you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO. At all. I promise. But, do a quick search on youtube (http://youtu.be/p1ISW-pwUXs) and you will find out that it's SO SIMPLE to close up! Honestly! The only problem is that I swear the man in the videos must be 7 feet tall and 300 pounds because when HE closes his Manta Shelter down it looks like a tiny doll version of what I have. I'm only 5'4" and it is a challenge to say the least to get my tiny t-rex arms maneuvered around it. But after a few practice runs closing it up at home I am now an expert. It is durable, and in my opinion quite spacious. Myself and my three kids use it regularly and we can ALL fit inside. Imagine three kids swarming all around inside with towels, shoes, sunglasses and sandwiches, falling all over each other and pretending very badly to get along. All of that fits inside this shade! My husband can fit too if we sit and make a little room, and he is over 6" tall. Usually he wanders off though, mostly to avoid the chaos that is our life, which has nothing to do with this product at all. So, save your pennies, watch the videos on youtube, practice a couple times, and then you too can say, "Bring on the horrible, scorching summer fun, Picnic Time Manta Pop-up Shelter!"

Pros and Cons....you decide
PROS: 1. Pops open instantly without any assembly. 2. Wanted one that is smaller than most sun shelters - this is - it's good for one, a bit cozy for two. 3. Very lightweight overall. CONS: 1. As the reviews say, not easy to fold back up, especially for one person - especially if there's wind. May be hard to close for a person who is small or does not have arm strength. Watch the YouTube video before you decide. 2. It does shade and you are comfortable - but the sun is not completely obscured. The fabric is thin enough that laying down and looking up, seeing the sun through the fabric was making us squint. (Red colored shelter.) One person said they used a towel over the shelter to block out the sun (that kind of defeats the purpose). 3. Closed up, this is a big flat pancake with a body strap. This past weekend was mildly windy and the pancake caught the wind and blew all around my body like a kite while we were carrying everything down to the beach. 4. The shelter comes with several plastic cords and stakes (tent stakes). The tent stakes are ridiculously short (around 7 inches). In order to really anchor something like this in sand the stakes would need to be 12 inches or preferably longer. Next time I will take nylon stuff sacks and fill them with sand and put them inside to weigh the shelter down - that will work but it's going to take up room. Would I buy again? No. I really like the shape and size of the shelter itself, but the cons outweigh the pros.

It worked very well for us.
Worked well this past week on a FL beach. Big enough for my childrn to lay in it. Plenty big enough to create a safe place for our stuff (not as easy for someone to walk by and grab something without taking the time to reach into the tent). Sets up in half a second. It folds up and goes into the bag in less than 20 seconds with some practice. PRACTICE before you take it to the beach. There are YouTube videos. Even if you can't "get it right" the first time, it will still collapse into a flat disc (too big for the bag) that will fit in the trunk of your car. It is strong enough to not bounce around in the typical FL beach breeeze last week. Stormy weather would make it shake and lean. It was thè perfect size for our car's overstuffed trunk. What it was not was the shelter we witnessed another family attempt to setup which was willowy and complicated. Their shelter wobbled and blew all over when none of the other kinds of shelters we saw were having the same trouble. They never could get that "other brand" to go up and stay up. That one included a bug net and roof. To be fair their shelter required good sand tent stakes and they did not have any. Lastly if you think you are going to need stakes to get this shelter to stay put on an especially windybeach - buy some proper beach stakes. The simple bent wire stakes included won't grip the sand. It does allow fowo of the very low beach chairs which position your bum a couple of inches above the sand.

Hard to fold and repack
Pops out without issue just as it states but I had a hard time folding it to put away getting it to fit back into the bag it came out of was just about impossible for me

Poor materials
Looks good, is big and that pop up system is awesome!..but, again, I don't understand why would you, as a manufacturer, not making it with reliable materials(that are not neither that expensive)and make this product a good thing and create a good fan base clients that would vouch for the brand and back up the heck out of it!..is simply bad materials and poor manufacturing, the seams we're opening up the first day just with action of the pop up. Unfortunately will not last long

Easy fun
I absolutely adore this pop-up tent. It's made my summer so much better! I use it in my front yard, and it takes seconds to set up and take down. I had to watch a video on how to take it down since the instructions are a little confusing, but after that, it's great. I love the little window in the back, if there's a wind it's nice to open it up and make it feel like it won't take off. It's great that this product was available to us Canadians, since it's difficult to find where it ships to Canada. I appreciate that this colourway was affordable and not marked up 60% like many other items usually exclusive to the states.

Thin material low quality.
We ordered this product to use at the beach. When it arrived we opened it in our yard to find that it had a rip along one of the seams. We ordered a replacement and when this one arrived there was a hole where the stitching had not been completed correctly. We were excited about the size and shape but ultimately returned it due to low quality and poor craftsmanship.

GROS COUP DE COEUR
Nous avons acheter cette tente afin que notre 8 mois aie un endroit extérieur, à l’ombre, où jouer. Nous l’avons installé dans la cour extérieure et wow! Bonnes dimensions, belle qualité et super facile d’utilisation. Si on se fit sur les directives fournies sur comment le fermer, super facile de le ranger. Je recommande 100%

Terrific little shelter
I love this little shelter. It pops up in a second. It is very lightweight, to take to the beach or park. The kids love to open it up in the house to play in- they like to play Lego in it, and it is really easy to pick up the Lego on the nylon floor. Bonus! We did have to watch a few you tube videos, to learn how to fold it up, and practice , but now I can do it myself easily. Love it!! I'm getting another one for my other grandchildren.
