Solid, will last for decades
I have always found Oneida to be a quality brand and this flatware proves that is still true. Each piece has a comfortable weight and you do not have to worry about them bending. They are solid, but not heavy. A couple of things to note: I gave them four stars and not five because the photos make it look like the handles are rounded. If you examined the photos VERY closely you might have noticed they look flat in just one photo. Only the butter knives are rounded; the teaspoon, soup spoon, salad fork and dinners forks all have a slight curve in the handle top and are flat in the back. For this reason I posted a photo of the soup spoon on its side - you can see it is not rounded, and I know some people prefer to grip a full-round handle. In the other photo, I wanted to highlight that the soup spoons are really huge. They are almost pushing serving spoon size! Overall, I think these are a good value.

Great quality, really big size!
This 20 pack of utensils is such a great quality. They're nice and thick, so they're really hard to bend and won't get damaged easily. They look like a high priced set, shiny, and will be great to use for an important dinner. I cleaned them and let them sit dry and there were no water spots on any of the utensils. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the size of the larger fork and larger spoon. They're over 3" long, not counting the handle, so those two seem more like serving utensils rather than eating utensils. The spoon is way too large to fit in someone's mouth. The smaller size utensils are more like normal size bigger ones. Even though the larger spoons and forks are really big, I really like this set a lot. I love the high quality look and feel of the utensils, they can make a difference at an important dinner. This set is definitely worth buying no matter if they're for everyday or occasional use.

Lithe Design / A Bit Thin in the Grip
This is a nice lithe design with good heft to it. I'm not keen on the pronounced Oneida stamping on the underside of the fork. I like the asymmetrical design of the knife, flatter on the rear (underside?) than on the front, it makes it easier to hold while retaining a very rounded look. I would have liked a more rounded profile to the fork and spoons but that is a matter of preference. My main objection is that it comes in a bit thin in my grip so that it's more pressure on the edge of my fingers than I like.

Premium eatin' weapons
Oneida B1044020Al21 Karlek 20 Piece Everyday Flatware Set, Service For 4 The silverware comes boxed in an attractive retail package that is composed of dark colors so that the attractive silver finish on the stainless steel eaten’ weapons shine up bright and pretty. The individual pieces have a representative of the set wired onto the front of the box, with the balance inside the back of the package all wrapped in plastic bags. On this particular set, the handles of the silverware are unadorned, polished mostly flat surface with the Oneida mark stamped into the back. If you look very carefully, you can also see a Vietnam marking as well, I presume that is the country of manufacture. Each of these pieces are quite lightweight, but heavy enough so that you can feel this is quality service ware. All of the pieces are polished smooth to a hygiene mirror finish, even though some of the display pieces on the front showed small amounts of wear from being in the package, I'm willing to bet that would polish out quite easily. Looking at the knife, it has a bit of serration on one side for 3/4 of its surface, so I'm sure that would aid in cutting meat and such while eating. The soup spoon is wide enough to gather a decent amount to consume, and yet small enuff. It'll fit inside your mouth. One thing we did notice when loading the dishwasher with these, is that, especially with the spoons, the handle is narrow enough that it goes right through the grid in the silverware holder cup. You'll just have to be careful to put their head down, or position it so it won't fall through the grid. All in all, this is a premium set of eating weapons.

I Need More
I love the silverware! It is plain. Not too simple, not too fancy. I love the weight of it. I don’t like silverware that is very light. It wears very well. I plan on getting another set or two!

High quality
When "reviewing" this sort of product, there's an objective, quality-specific facet, and an esthetic facet. As far as quality, these are very solid in quality. Far from tableware stamped from flat plate and bent into shape, these are nicely made, solid, and sturdy ware. So, then, the esthetic aspects. You can judge from the pictures whether you think these are attractive. I find them visually so. It is true that the fork and soup spoon are on the large side, and this very well may be a positive for some. I find the salad fork to be a very useful size. I do really like the knives, in terms of elegance as well as balance, function, and comfort. So, the downside. The forks and spoons feel a little light in the handle and heavy in the business end. The end of the handle is, as you can see, cut off in a sharp angle. The corners of the end of the handles dig into my hand while I am using them. They are not sharp sharp, but they feel sharp in the hand. So, there's the other side. Can't fault them for quality or style, but I am glad I tried them before I sprung for a full set of these for everyday use. YMMV.
