Great suspenders
A couple of things. First of all, these things are super comfortable when they are adjusted correctly. I've had them for a year and where them everyday as a framer and I'm guessing they will last for years to come, which puts them miles ahead of every other suspender I've used. That being said, here are a few criticisms and comments. They're leather so they stretch which means you periodically need to adjust them. I like leather, so not a big deal. I'm 6'1" and I'm almost at the shortest setting on the suspenders, so if you're shorter, you might need to buy a leather punch. Also, once they've broken in, the shoulder pads and the back separator move around, which can be annoying while working. I'm going to pop rivet mine in place. Lastly, like all Occidental leather, the color bleeds when they are new, so expect to stain some shirts if you're sweating.

I'm using as suspenders their a little over the top but I carry a lot of weight in my pockets that makes them perfect 4 me but if u want a pair of suspenders probably not 4 u

Worth the investment
These are very high quality. I have been using them for 3 days now and find them a great addition to my tool belt. If you are lean you may need larger belt loops. For me one side is over the wide padded part of my belt. I had a set of larger looped ones that I used.

decent suspenders
I wanted heavy duty rugged suspenders that were all leather with none of that stretchy elastic material. I also wanted them to have a nice appearance and not look like dedicated work suspenders. These were the only ones to fit that criteria for me. The brownish burgundy color is very rich and the chrome buckles and hardware look nice and function well. I had no problem adjusting these suspenders. The range is accommodating from small to large. They can quickly be attached and removed once the loop attachments have been installed on your belt, by using the clasps, for bathroom breaks and such. Four loop attachments are included (one kit). I bought these for casual wear so I removed the heavy shoulder pads. The process is easy. (1) unbuckle both front straps. (2) slide the horizontal chest strap down and off. (3) slide the shoulder pads off. (4) reinstall the chest strap and make up the buckles. Done. You could also slide them off the back by removing the round strap guide (thing) which is how I did it because the chest strap was so tight, I did not think it was supposed to move. It has loosened up some. In the picture the horizontal chest strap appears to be riveted on, but on my suspenders you can slide it and adjust the height. It is tight and requires some force to move, so it does not flop down. I would have actually preferred a chest strap that attached with clamps (clamps that would not scar the leather). That way you could install and remove the chest strap fast, as desired. Mine uses leather loops for attachment. It seems feasible that these loops could loosen as the leather stretches to the point where the strap might fall down, but I could be wrong. They seem a little expensive, but there is nothing really to compare them with. When you actually break these suspenders down into their seperate components there is not a lot to them, but what are you going to do make them yourself (c'mon). They were delivered fast right to my front door by Fed Ex. They can be a little restricting but that is the nature of suspenders. I recently removed the chest strap which makes them a lot more comfortable, but now they have a tendency to migrate down my shoulders a little. They need semi-frequent repositioning. Removing the chest strap would probably not be practical for working applications. As these suspenders break in and soften I can foresee them becoming very comfortable. These are the first pair of suspenders that I have ever owned and I really like them. Everything that It wrote is truthful to Its experierce. This is only Its opinion. Yours may be completely different. If yours is different, It sorry. Ignore It. Taste is subjective. You only live once. Good luck.

I am small of build
5'9", 150#'s, Senior DIY 'er I knocked off the star's, due hassle, mostly attributable to thickness. I learned that the shoulder pads/broader weight distribution pad,s can be 'bent'/'curled' to ease the abrupt interface with the inboard juncture of my bony collar bones. I first used a couple of radius-ed pieces of wood, one over, _the other under, and a one-handed ratcheting quick grip clamp, _to give that area considerable easement. Increasing the easement occasionally over time wanting to let the leather 'adjust' comfortably; Leaving it clamped at least over night. I moved that lead edge quite a bit. Possibly the strap thickness is needed to hold the likely loads, but it makes for considerable difficulty in adjusting the shoulder strap lengths, which I have next to their short limit; Having One more hole left in factory adjustment, then I'll have to punch my own. I wanted quality, rather than buy something twice. This is a substantial piece of gear. I would recommend it, even though I whine about it being a bit over built and difficult to adjust. I am using this w/ a 4 or 5 decades old heavy fabric belted, secured leather pouch, system. The fabric tends to wad; not robust enough on its own, but for what little I'll do, I will likely live w/ that, though may figure some sort of band-aid remedy, or break done and spend the cost of the leather belt and a couple of bags to go with it. The pads are 2-11/16 wide, 8-1/4" long, 1/4" thick (a doubled eighth); top quality leather.

Finally found 'em!
Have been looking for a quality set of either suspenders for years and finally found them! I took the shoulder pads and sternum strap off and wear these daily now. Get several compliments a month about them.

Some good info.
If you are of short stature like myself (5’6) expect to add a few holes and cut off access strap. I don’t love that I have to cut off 8 inches of extra strap after my $200 suspenders, but you Gotta do what you Gotta do. And if you’re buying this, You probably have the tools to make the holes. ie drill and bit. Other then that then that. Just beautiful. … also, leather will bleed the first few times you wear it so you’re going to get red dye on your shoulders the first couple weeks. No white shirts.

Well crafted work suspenders
Sturdy, simple and well made work suspenders. I’m using it with a Zakco tool belt and it fits perfectly. Now I can carry more heavy tools, drivers, etc. without loosing my working pants! ;0) After twelve days of work 10 hours a day, I’m very pleased with them. They are confortable and I didn’t have sore shoulders. The shoulder straps should have had more holes. I had to make a few more and I had to cut the extra strap unfortunately. I don’t use the chest strap but I’m sure it is useful for other people. Great product.

Very uncomfortable
Figured id try out some work suspenders for my tool belt and ended up buying these ones..I found them to be extremely uncomfortable and eventually ended up with a rash on my shoulder. They dont work well for overhead work as they keep slidding and the shoulder straps start to rub. They have no give which of course being leather so i found them to be extremely tough to use for many hours they prevented my shoulders from extending properly so my neck and middle back were sore at the end of the day..They should have the ability to flex a bit if you have to do overhead work..I didnt like them wouldnt recommend this style.

Well made
Sturdy, stiff leather will always soften to perfection while soft leather will weaken with time, let me tell you this is a once in a lifetime purchase as this leather is superb! Beautiful, strong and well designed for ease of use these work suspenders will hold up to decades of on the job wear and heavy tools. The shoulder straps are adjustable but could have had more holes to adjust even further, I used my leather punch to get the right fit for my body Overall very worthwhile purchase

Best value out there
I have an occidental belt and my hips/ back are screaming at me in pain at the end of the week. Since I bought these suspenders, they have relieved me completely of any pain. They're amazing and worth every penny. I'm never dissapointed with occidentals products. Sure, they're pricey but occidental is a one-time purchase. You can abuse them to hell and they'll last you your entire life. They're also beautiful
