Runs Small
Perhaps this is meant to be very tight. But for a six year old, it is just too small. I will try wish a size 8 to fit my "skinny" 6 year old. Otherwise, this looks great, so I know someone's kid will love it.

Great UV protection but inconsistent sizing.
The quality of O’Neill UV protection shirts is great…but the consistency of their sizing is not so great. Both shirts are size 12. The pink (Watermelon) shirt fits like a size 12, but the green (Seaglass) shirt fits like a size 10 or smaller.

Great for kids
Got them for the kids (10 and 11) for summer pool time as it gets wicked hot out and we want to avoid sunburns. Both also use them under their Gi's for karate and jiu jitsu = double win. Would buy again.

Perfect Fit!
My 7 year old daughter is 45" tall and 43 pounds. (short and skinny for her age). Based on the measurements of the O'Neill rash guard, we ordered a size 4 for her. It fits her perfect! It is skin tight, just like it is supposed to be. It rides up a tiny bit at the waist in the water, but I just make sure she has sunscreen on there or is wearing a one piece bathing suit under the swim shirt. The neck hole is rather small and a parent has to help her put it on and off because of this issue, but if the neck hole was any bigger, there would be a big gap around her neck, needing more sunscreen! But the shirt is a GREAT fit, perfect sizing according to the size charts and I would definitely buy this product again. We have a blue size 6 for her brother (49" tall, 58 pounds) and it just finished it's second swimming season. It is now pilly across the front and getting really thin, though still protects from the sun. The pills are probably from getting in and out of the pool. It also balloons up in the water when it's wet now, but I don't think that is bad for lasting two whole summer seasons in the chlorine. I care for them by rinsing them on a gentle no soap rinse in my washing machine (by themselves) and then I lay them flat to dry. We are very pleased with this product and would definitely buy again! The only other experience I have with long sleeve rash guards are from lands end, and O'Neill fits way better. Land's End's are looser from the get go, which is not appropriate for a rash guard.

Not a third chance.
My original purchase was for a size 12 youth for my 9 year old grandson. He had picked this out after a long search to have just the right look. He was very excited when the package arrived. He immediately put it on or tried to but he couldn't get it all the way on. His normal size is an 8 so I thought he could use this for at least 2 years. I immediately ordered the size 16 youth and decided to keep the size 12 because it fit my 4 year old grandson very well. The size 16 arrived he again was disappointed with the fit. It was on but too tight in the arms and up around the shoulders. He wore it about 15 minutes and needed help getting it off. My grandson is 86lbs and plays Baseball ,basketball, soccer. He is always involved with a lot of activity . He is fit and healthy. What he liked about it was the color and design. The material seems to be of good quality. but the sizing is way off. I rated this item low only because of the sizing.

Sizing a bit strange.
I thought I was buying a size to fit my average sized 10 year old son. So I ordered a little larger and ordered youth 12, will it barely fits my daughter who just turned 8. She is thin and athletic so there is no way it should be tight on her.

Works as described but one small issue
My 4 year old has very fair skin and easily gets sunburn. We were about to go on a 7 day caribbean cruise and we knew she'd need a long sleeve shirt to swim in. She loves blue so the color was a big hit. Overall it fit very well and worked perfect. Not a single burn on her neck or arms. She never complained about wearing it as she said it was "comfy" but the neck hole is very small. Getting it on and off is a bit of a chore and took a few tries to find a way of getting it on her with her crying as the neck hole is seriously small. After a weeks usage every day in the pool and ocean water it still looks good but best of all no sunburn. She is 4 and we ordered the size 4. As i said fit was perfect but the neck hole. My daughter is a bit on the small side so if your son/daughter is on the bigger size you would be better off ordering a size larger.

Check size
Sizing issue... Skin tight OK but short! UK 14 for slim, average height lad of 13years.. Not suitable. Product lovely if you can get correct fit.

Buena calidad
Muy buena calidad, había leído comentarios que viene muy reducida, mi hijo tiene 12 años así que compré la talla 14 y le quedo perfecta, mi hijo es delgado y no muy alto
