Smell issue & O'Neill's disingenuous method of dealing with it
Here is the e-mail that my wife was forced to send O'Neill: "I have used O'Neill wetsuits for my children since 2015. We were very pleased with our first purchase the summer of 2015 - quality workmanship, attractive design, and most importantly, it kept our daughter warm and protected her from the sun. This year, on June 1st, I ordered two more O'Neill Reactor toddler wetsuits (one for my daughter, and one for my son) from Amazon. We used them for the first time on June 4th. The suits absolutely smell, to the point of it almost being overwhelming once wet. The odor transfers onto anything it touches - skin, clothes, etc - and fills whatever room you're keeping the wetsuit in. It resembles marijuana and skunk. It is NOT the normal smell of neoprene. I called your customer service department on June 6th to ask for help in getting rid of the smell. They advised that I send it to the O'Neill repair center so that the wetsuits can be replaced. They advised that we not do a replacement via Amazon because O'Neill "does not know" how Amazon is processing the return of wetsuits with the smell problem, and we could merely end up with two more smelly suits. Today I mailed the suits to the repair center via UPS for a whopping $27.36 ($22.36 for regular ground shipping, and $5 for a box). Here is what bothers me so much about this entire thing. O'Neill CLEARLY knows about the smell issue. Looking at Amazon reviews for the toddler Reactor, it is obvious that people started to complain about it roughly in 2016. And when I called in for help, the customer service rep knew what I was talking about and immediately offered a replacement. So why on earth are you still selling faulty products on Amazon? It's completely disingenuous. They should have all been pulled months ago and replaced with wetsuits without this manufacturing defect. But you didn't pull them, and now a) only those customers with enough wherewithal to call O'Neill directly will receive replacements, b) you're forcing us to spend outrageous sums on shipping in order to procure the replacements, and c) my kids are going to lose at least two weeks of swimming during the height of summer while we wait for this to be remedied. I can accept that manufacturing problems arise. I CANNOT, however, accept O'Neill's total lack of transparency and concern about their products and their customers. You make one of the best toddler wetsuits on the market (when it doesn't smell like a marijuana-smoking skunk, that is). However, next summer, when we are again on the market for larger wetsuits for our growing kids, I will very seriously consider not ordering from O'Neill. I will also be posting this entire e-mail in my Amazon review, as well."

Size chart pretty accurate. In between sizes? Definately go up regardless of build . Performance exceeded expexctations.
Daughter is thin and was on the top spectrum for size 4. Some measurements make her a 4, some a 6. Ordered size 4 and a size 6 worrying the 6 would be too loose and not seal properly. WRONG. Couldn't get legs into the 4 to try on. Seems to be made for thin kids. Size 6 seals up REAL tight. She's 49.5 inches tall, 53lbs, 21" waist, 22.5" chest. Tested immediately in our cooold community pool. Sealed well and kept her warm. Let her swim and jump in repeatedly for 20 mins. When she got out her lower legs were cold and had goose bumps but the rest of her was warm. Dry underneath. Worked beyond our expectations. The minus - Smell made the towel she used to dry off and the entire bathroom smell like a tire shop. We hung in shower to dry and the drops of water dripping off suit were a berry color like the suit. There should be better dye or rinsed somehow by manufacturer to aid in color running and smell.

Fits skinny toddler
This was the only wetsuit that fit my itty bitty daughter properly. She is 22 months old, weighs 24.8 lbs, 33.25 inches tall, and her torso is about 15 inches long. I ordered a size 1 and it fits her great! Bought it for swimming lessons at the YMCA . Even though the pool is indoor and 80 degrees, it was still too cold for her in just a bathing suit. I tried this wetsuit over her bathing suit and it worked great-- she wasn't cold in the pool! I ordered a few other wetsuits to try on because I wasn't sure of size and fit---Hyperflex size 2 was too baggy on her and there was a gap in the leg and arm openings. Ivation size 2 had small gaps in the arm and leg openings and the torso part was a little short---I could get it on my daughter, but it was a stretch to get it on her shoulders so it possibly wouldn't have even fit her the whole summer if she grows at all. The skunk smell is very powerful as other reviewers have noted. Sadly, the smell does not seem to fade away no matter how much you let this suit air out.

Smells Like A Skunk
I ordered this hoping that the reviews on Amazon were wrong and that the company had corrected this stench situation. Out of the box, the suit smelled bad but after washing and wearing in the water, it was unbearable. It smelled like my child had been sprayed by a skunk and caused people at the community pool to look at us like we were gross. I have reached out to O'Neill and it still covered by the warranty. It is a bit odd that the company is aware of the issue but waits for consumers to contact them to resolve it. We were assured that there is no hazard or danger presented by this (other than having people look at you weird).

Best purchase I’ve made on Amazon so far!
This is the 3rd O’Neill toddler wetsuit I have purchased for my son. He gets cold even in the 90 degree heated pool, but this really helps him out! Super cute and durable! Also love not having to worry about his shoulders, back, stomach getting sunburned due to the protection the wetsuit provides. We used his first O’Neil wetsuit anywhere from 1-7 days a week for 2 years. He could still be using it now, but the bottom was piling from sitting and it was beginning to fade...so I decided to replace with size 2 (he’s 3.5 years old and 30 pounds), but it was still really big on him so I bought another size 1 and kept size 2 for next year. I couldn’t be happier with this product and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with a youngster that gets cold easily.

High quality wetsuit! But size 3 and size 4 are almost identical in size - size 4 was actually a little tighter than size 3
Excellent high-quality wetsuit - size 3 fit my - 42"H x 39lb kid perfectly with slightly enough room through the torso / length wise / to last him another year. The strange thing is that the size 4 was actually too tight on him and virtually the same size as the 3. Had to return the size 4. This wetsuit is designed for slender children. The wetsuit dries very quickly and keeps him very warm during swim class in an outdoor pool. He absolutely loves this wetsuit and doesn't want to take it off. Took off one star because the size 4 should have been bigger.

High quality made swim suit
Best swim suit I got for my girl. It gives her the agility and confidence she needs during swim classes. The neck region of the suit appears rather tight fit. Need to be careful when aiding my girl with the zip ending at the neck region.
