Great nesting bowls, wash in dishwasher, pours my pancake batter well. Don't take up too much space. Love the red color.

I love these bowls. I really, really love these bowls.

I have been looking for another set of these bowls forever. I have had the same set in white for many years. I use them to reheat things in the microwave and I also use them to actually cook oatmeal, in addition to using them for mixing. Over the years I have re-heated red sauces in them a few too many times and have stained a red ring in them. It's just unsightly, and I will continue to use them, but I thought that I would never be able to replace them. Lots of companies make nice looking plastic mixing bowls and none of them but these are for microwave use. Believe me, I have stood in the aisles of many stores examining lots of labels. The only slight negative with this set is that the largest bowl is the same size as my original medium, and the medium is the same as my original small, and the small is not much bigger than cereal bowl sized. I like that little size but I also want a bigger one than this set contains. Never satisfied.

Smaller than expected, but I should have paid attention to measurements!

These bowls will come in handy, but even after reading the size, they are smaller than I expected. I have attached pictures comparing them to a 15oz vegetable can, because it would have helped me to realize the size. I only gave 4 stars, because I just unpacked them, so no history yet. Very quick delivery!

Nice set of mixing bowls for the home baker.

My mother had a white set of these years ago and it took me awhile to find them. They are perfect for making pancakes, jello, puddings, mixing eggs, cakes, etc. They look smaller than they actually are and my red ones certainly look smaller than my mothers white ones. You can easily mix a cake in the large bowl. I have used them in the microwave to melt butter and small amounts of chocolate but I would not recommend microwaving for long. Over time my mother's lost the rubber rings on the bottom, one melting in the microwave. She also puts hers in the dishwasher on the top rack, mine is much smaller so I just hand wash. They nest together nicely taking up less space than my bulky glass bowls and are very lightweight.

Excellent value ~

These are my all-time favorite bowls in 5-cups, 7-cups and 10-cups sizes, large enough for most tasks. I've had the large stainless steel set from the local box store and only a couple of those bowls were small enough to be usuable in my kitchen. One of them even ended up as a planter. These little red bowls, on the other hand, are perfectly sized. I threw a bag of popcorn in the microwave the other night and turned around to get a ceramic bowl. Instead, I grabbed one of these red ones. The handle was so convenient for carrying, holding, and stabilizing in my lap that it made me want to buy another set. They are not just for mixing but have a rubber ring on the bottom to keep them from sliding if you are mixing. They are heavy enough to feel sturdy and stable but not too heavy for someone with strength problems. If you have arthritis in your hands, I think you will be pleased with the performance of these bowls. I am.

Easy to handle

I LOVE these bowls! They are super easy to handle, especially if you have any kind of joint issues with your hands. The raised grip is so helpful when mixing anything. I would highly recommend this set of bowls if you are looking for lightweight, easy to use mixing bowls. The only drawback would be that they are not large, and if you are using a recipe that needs to be mixed in a large bowl, this set would not be for you. But...if you just need small to medium size bowls for everyday use, get these...you won't be sorry...I think you'll love them!

Needed these bowls sooner!

I give these sturdy bowls five stars! With my regular bowls I had to hold onto the rim of the bowl with my left hand and stir with my right hand, since I have limited counter space in my kitchenette and have to cook sitting down. I was afraid that the bowl was going to slip from my hand and batter would fly everywhere! (I guess I could have used the bowl in the sink, but this is a little inconvenient!) Using one of these pretty nesting bowls, I put my left index finger through the handle and hold the bowl with the remaining fingers. Since they are microwave oven safe, I can soften or melt a stick of butter or margarine in the bowl if a recipe calls for it. I only wish I had discovered and bought these bowls much sooner! It would have been nice if these bowls had been available in different colors, especially terra cotta!
