One Cannot Navigate By Lumens Alone!
This is a very good light, but the lumen rating is deceiving. The beam is a mixed beam (not quite flood nor tight focused beam, but a middle road for both). I have a self-contained 1100 lumen light from NiteRider and the beam is tight - and seems (to the eye) to be much brighter than this... but that's becasue the light isn't being diffused like with the Pro 1400. A great lite - for slower & trail riding. If you are on the road or using an e-bike where you will be going over 15 miles an hour, you will want a more focused beam. I use this as my 'low beam' and my helmet mounted light as my main beam. (helmet light is seen in picture mounted next to the Pro 1400 on a hyper-scooter that will go over 45mph).

Really good light
I waited 5 months to do a review on this light and all I can say is how great it is to have a good light when I ride. I do use this light sparingly, meaning it gets used a couple of times a week when it rains and also now that winter is here, it gets a little dark when I get off of work and this light has done me no wrong. ( I've only charged it once since I have had it. The higher beam would need charging more often. ) I've only used it on its low setting because the other settings would literally blind the drivers off the road. It has great distance and the width of the beam is on par because I am always watching out for nails. This has withstood multiple down pours and now that its winter, its handling great. I would buy again definitely!

Amazing headlight
I think NiteRider stopped making this light, and that's a bummer, but I'm really happy that some retailers still have it in stock. This thing is BRIGHT, there's no getting around it. NiteRider's new products do not compare to how awesome this is, and I love the way it looks while mounted to my bike. I've owned some of NiteRiders HID lights in the past that use this same frame mounted battery setup. I loved those lights as well, but I learned to be delicate with the cables and how they're plugged in. If you are ham-fisted while plugging the light or charger into the battery, you will break a wire or connection inside of the cable housing, and the light won't work anymore. Take your time and be precise while lining the plugs up, and these lights will serve you well.

Read the small words, at the highest light setting, battery will only last 2hrs! (when new)
I understand, NR specifies that at the highest output (1400 lumens) battery will only last 2 hours. It is my fault for not understanding the impact of 2 hrs only. I bought the NR lamp because of the advertised quality and overall good ratings. Yesterday I used my light for the first time, jumped from a cheap bike light with high output (1000 lumens). I was left in the dark in the middle of the trail, fortunately I had my good-old-cheap (and now very dependable) light in my helmet . This is not a 5-Star rating review because I didn't buy the light to put it at at lower setting, this will always be used at the highest output, that is the only justification for the price, quality is good but not impressed, they use phillips head screws instead of hex in the headlamp, when clipped in the handlebar base, it shows some play. The NR battery is huge compared to my cheap lamp and it was consumed before at their highest settings. For being a "Pro Race" bike lamp I was not impressed, I expected a huge impact vs my current $15 lamp, the only difference is that the NR spread the light nicely.

Awesome
Had mi newt for many years. Battery would not charge any more. Went from 250 lumens to 1400. I can be seen clearly in daylight. Night time is ridiculous. Ordered cherry bomb to replace my older rear battery powered light. It still works just need more light. Daylight Savings is here so many late rides after work are no problem.

Good quality, long battery life
I've smacked it around alot and had plenty of accidents with it on the bike and it hasn't broken or scratched much, on the 3rd and 4th setting I usually get 3-4 hours out of it, only have to charge it one in three rides usually. I use it in pitch black conditions and it's brighter than the older halogen bulbs on car headlights sometimes. It's a hard sell at 200 bucks but it can be the difference between you seeing something and running it over and going over the bars, or avoiding it entirely

The best bike light to buy
This bike light is very good. It has four different settings and is very bright. If you need the light to last longer you can put it on the lowest setting. It is very affordable and has great features. I like the green bar on top of the light to show how much battery life is left. This is a great light for the price. I have owned many lights over the years, but this is the best.

Very nicely made! Good Quality
I've purchased many items from NiteRider in the past few years and I've always enjoyed their products. The quality is always there. They're a bit pricey, but the product speaks for itself. I'm using this particular light assembly on my mountain bike. In fact, I have a different model (dual headlamp) on my street bike (3600). Excellent beam coverage. I even get high beams from cars if not aimed properly. Very, very bright. Yes, I've purchased other cheaper lights (non NiteRider) but the quality isn't there. They seem to put a lot of thought into their products. Yes, I would definitely recommend NiteRider products to others.

Great light both for commuting and for off-roading
This light really does the trick! I used to right with cheap 200 lumen lights, but as soon as I tried this one, I was blown away by how bright it is! I has certainly allowed me to ride faster both during the summer months and in winter. The lowest setting is all I need with the light reflecting off the snow.
