This came from the recommendation for my salomon boots. Brand new boots. Ok absorbing on the GT, my mesh shoes absorb the spray much better.

Works great
Recommended by my work boot makers. Water repellency seems awesome. Cleans old shoes and restores water resistance as advertised. Awesome! No one wants to stay in wet shoes.

This is a repeat purchase!!!
Do some serious hiking - Used this combo on my boots many times (they’ve done about 300 miles in 2 years) - really keeps them waterproof and keeps your feet dry after a day’s hike in the snow or rain. Also use the shell proofing product you put in washing machine to restore rainproof outer ware - that works too Boots and waterproofs take a beating - the outer ware more so from constant rolling it up and stuffing in your backpack / this product extends their useful functionality Great product range

Great company. Hopefully great product.
Have used mostly the Nixwax fabric products for years, so wanted to try this out. Hopefully I did it right first rain coming up even if it just slows down the amount of water getting thru I'll be happy. All my boots are ten or more years old so just being cheap and trying to add a few more years to them. Since all the other Niklas products work so well at waterproofing can't see this not working.

Applicator is poor
I didnt feel that this had much affect on my boots and shoes, plus the applicator is a little hard to use. I will try another brand and a different way of applying the waterproofed next time.

Great product
I wanted to try it for a while and after doing what it said on the info on the product it works great. I used it on one pair of Scarpa Delta shoes (leather), and 3 pairs of Redback shoes (My own and my kids. leather or suede not really sure). I went hiking with my Scarpa and even after a day hike it kept its water repellent. Highly recommended product.

Waterproof.
Easy to follow instructions and the applicator works well. I left my boots out to dry after I had applied the cleaner and water proofer. Go figure it rained on the boots because I forgot about them (it never rains in SoCal, right), when I remembered the boots were out there drying the next morning the rain water was all beaded up on the leather. Ok the boots were wet inside but only where the rain had got inside not through the leather.

The solution works, the packaging does not.
(Edited comment: the bottle of cleaner I recieved was not a simple spray bottle as in the picture here. Mine has a silly quarter sized sponge without much sponge and the seal thing I mention, it does not work well at all) The products seems to do the job. I have an issue with the applicator of the cleaner product. It barely works at all. After breaking the seal which requires a rather hard push down until you hear a "crack" sound it does not flow out at all, it requires a continual and forceful push down on the boot to get enough solution to clean and little ridiculous sponge on the top of the bottle applicator is indeed ridiculously ineffective and tiny. The solution seemed to clean adequately and the sealer works so I gave them a 3, but if you can't use the cleaner purchased with the 2 of them because of the packaging, then it negates the functionality of the cleaner and since you need to clean the shoes/boots prior to weatherproofing it negates the buying the two together, which I definitely will not do again.

The Cleaner Bottle Broke and just poured everywhere
Usually these are amazing. I previously had bottles with the sponge cleaning attachment which were good, the brush addition to these new bottles is great. Unfortunately the red stopper fell out so there is not control of the cleaning fluid coming out, so I have gone through it really quickly.

Being this is Amazon.ca I assume we all drive dog sled to work and club seals in our spare time... Now this review is for YOU avid seal clubber!!! I work on roofs and all kinds of fun environments all summer and winter!! Putting docks in, ripping out beaver dams, hunting, I'd be what you call lumbersexual... I'm very hard on work boots as you would expect... I wear "KEEN" boots.. All synthetic, Kevlar toe and shank.. Dry quick, light weight blah blah... When you first get new boots clean them with the cleaner!!! Whatever is on them doesn't like the waterproofing spray... Even mink oil won't take quite right... Now throw the cleaner away! Then sock the waterproof spray to them.. Thin coats but SEVERAL thin coats... As you beat them up wipe them down with water and dish detergent... Don't use the cleaner again it will take the waterproof off!! Mild soap, close up the holes with epoxy and sock the waterproof to them again! Dry feet year round! Not sure what's in it, but if there was "crack" for dry feet we found it!

Cleans well, did not waterproof to my expectations.
used on my arcteryx Aerios FL GTX after 5 hiking trips. apart from the hiking scuffs, the cleaner did very well (dirt, mud, sand). On the other hand, the waterproofing agent did not restore the gore-tex to anywhere near the what it was. Let me be honest, faucet water was running off, but the settled water drops were quickly being absorbed into the side fabric.

Does The Job
None of these water repellent and protective products is ever perfect. They always have a greasiness or stain or something, But t's for shoes. Be too fussy and you should act in Sex and the City. These are for outdoor, non-fashion, practical hikers and runners. The stuff works. Can be pricey, so watch the cost.
