Perfect for different sized birds!

The media could not be loaded. We already had a different style of feeder and noticed bigger birds couldn’t sit on it as well, so we bought this type and now we get all types of birds! These two blue jays visit daily along with several other kinds of birds and I love watching them. Highly recommend!

Works Well

I removed hanging wire and glued wine corks to corners to use as a ground feeder for the birds outdoors. It works well.

The birds love it!

We hang this feeder below a bird feeder to catch the seeds that the birds flick around. Now we have birds on both feeders with no mess on the ground to attract rodents. Terrific! birds love it unfortunately pigeons too...

The media could not be loaded. 5 star for the first 2 weeks. Neat design. Attracts birds, easy to clean. I had to downgrade my rating because not because it also attracts squirrels for that we found a solution: we apply oil to the pole...fun to see them as they jump on the pole but slide down... the biggest problem and we couldn't find a solution for that this tray is also the favorite hangout for pigeons. (I have 5 other feeders) Before you say pigeons are birds too let me say they are pests. They come in big groups. They make a nest and don't intend to leave. (Fyi 4 birds can make a nest at the same time and 10 others would not be too far away). They are greedy as well. They chase away the more "enjoyable" nice birds. They even discourage Blue Jays... If there is a solution for pigeon-problem I'm interested to learn about it. Thanking you in advance for it.

A Feeder to Keep all the Birds Happy

This is a wonderful quality platform feeder. I wanted something for the balcony of my apartment and so I removed the hanging wires once it arrived to use on table (kept them in the future if I need them). It was bigger than I thought (I hadn't fully read the description) but worked out absolutely perfectly as I was able to lay out a variety of food. Yes with the tiny food like sunflower seeds out of the shell, you might lose a tiny amount from the bottom but nothing serious. Maybe more of a problem if hung and swinging around. Easy to remove tray for cleaning. I've had Cardinals, Bluejays and chickadees thus far. It is a really great quality and a reasonable price for a platform feeder. I absolutely love it!

Cedar, large, terrific deal

I buy this type of feeder from bird stores for 3-4× the price. Mind you, mine is a recycled plastic, highly durable with a strong rust proof bottom. This cedar box is large, the wood is well crafted with no warps or gaps. The tray is a bit warped and not a flush fit, but it can be bent back down a bit. When the food is in, it's no big deal. They don't care. Good luck removing the mesh as stated. Unlikely. The two hanging chords are not connected at the top, but the two loops can hook on the bird pole hook easily. I add a cover over it for protection from the elements. The cord is longer than most, which leaves it exposed to more elements and makes doves too happy. But it isn't a big deal. It really is a great value and I recommend it for sure. Cannot be mounted on a pole, for hanging only.

Perfect for Hanging, OK for Install on top of a 4x4 Post...

We wanted to separate the blue jays from the rest of the birds that frequent our main feeder... the Jays just make a mess as they dig for the specific seeds they want. So we bought this and installed it on a second 4x4 post and put the sunflower seeds there... and altered the mix in our regular feeder. It is reasonably priced, shipped quickly, and is a decent quality. The only downside when installing on top of a 4x4 post is that I found the two cross pieces to be a bit soft when I screwed them to the top of the post. Hoping it lasts but won't be surprised if it doesn't. I acknowledge that I am using the product in a way other than it was intended. :) Recommended.
