NO SET SCREW INCLUDED!...
For years I had used a flag pole bracket that was not solid brass, finally I purchased this classic solid Brass Flag Pole Bracket by Home Designs, and National Hardware company. I'm so dismayed to find that this Brass Bracket does not come with the set screw to hold the pole steady!? There is a hole in the bracket holder for the set screw but it is not supplied with their product. I use this bracket on the second floor between two windows off the beach and it can be very windy here. This company obviously knows there should be a set screw as it has a hole's in the bracket for the screw but doesn't supply one? I would return it except I have had it to long before installing it today on "Veterans Day"... JUNK. To dangerous to use above an entrance way on the second floor without a set screw to hold flag pole tight. I would not recommend.

GREAT HOLDER, CHEAP MOUNTING SCREWS
The holder is well made and worth the price. I was puzzled when I saw the "brass" mounting screws that came with the holder starting to rust. Turns out the screws are steel with a cheap plating. For a few cents more the manufacturer could include screws made of solid brass just as the holder is. I'll be replacing the steel screws with brass.

STRONG
We moved out into farmland country this year where the winds get strong. The last flag holder was plastic and was transplanted from our former townhome in the city. We found plastic doesn't hold up out here with the strong winds. Looked at the reviews for quite a while before finding this product with really good reviews regarding strength and wind. Also looked up different metal strengths on a separate site, and found brass was stronger than steel and iron and used on ships because of wind and water resistance. Sold. It's been strongly holding our US flag proudly! update 20130118: Still holding! If you live in an area with high winds, this is what you want holding your flag. Our fiberglass flagpole is still holding strong though it is what I had acquired with the original plastic holder that broke last year. I don't know if I'd recommend wood poles for high wind areas, but this brass flag holder is AWESOME! If only there was a brass flag pole... Update 20150404: Still holding! This was a fantastic purchase! My fiberglass pole is still holding, too, but the decorative plastic top cap is slowly degrading. I do sincerely believe the flag pole brass bracket will outlive me while looking great all the while.

The Cadillac of Flagpole Brackets
This flagpole bracket is the real deal. It's surprisingly heavy and seems really sturdy, and comes with large screws to anchor it in place. The Oil Rubbed bronze finish is a little lighter than I expected - I'd say it skews more towards bronze tones than the deep browns/blacks of many ORB finishes. We like the color, but something to keep in mind if you're trying to match it perfectly with other hardware. This is a little pricier than other options, but I'd say it's 100% worth it for a better looking and better made product.

Bracket keeps coming loose! Can't support the weight of a 3'x5' flag. Design flaw!
Although this feels solid and looks beautiful, its not designed properly to support the weight of a 3'x5' flag through light wind. I bought this flag pole bracket because of all the favorable reviews and the fact that its made of brass. But after a few months of use I noticed the three screws were starting to become loose. I retightened and went on my way. After less than a week I rechecked and sure enough it was loose again. There were no strong windstorms during this time. Just some light gusts here and there. In hindsight, it appears that the three-screw design all on the bottom of the bracket with no screw to support the upper half of the bracket is the cause of the screws coming loose. The weight of the 3'x5' flag combined with light wind were enough to loosen the bracket. To satisfy your curiosity, I used the 3 screws included in the box (not third party screws or old screws found in my garage) and I used an electric DeWalt drill to screw in the screws. Also, one of the three included screws is starting to rust which makes me wonder if the screws aren't actually brass. I have since purchased a different flag pole bracket (1" Diameter Cast Iron Flag Pole Holder. Heavy Duty Flag Bracket). This other one has an "arm" in the upper half of the bracket that allows for a screw to support the upper half of the bracket. I will write a review of this other bracket once more time goes bye and after its been through some more wind gusts. So far, I'm liking the Cast Iron bracket better than this National Hardware bracket.

Looks good.
The polished brass looks great, and it is very robust. I’ll never have buy another one.

Excellent flagpole bracket, poor screws
This is an excellent flagpole bracket and I say this after going through three different ones til I found this one. The bracket itself is extremely sturdy, but the three screws that come with it strip *way* too easily. I would be sure to drill pilot holes prior to installation, use a well-fitting screw bit, drive on high torque or even find some higher grade steel screws that fit the bracket snuggly(the screw cavity is beveled for the supplied screws). Other than this shortcoming, the bracket itself is strong, and with the satin nickel finish, very attractive compared to the flimsy and mundane brackets that often come with flag kits. The other plus in my book is that it has a low installation footprint, roughly 2 square inches, which is handy if youre installing either discretely or in a tight space(I had just a small available area between support struts on a car port).

De buena calidad
Se ve que es una base bastante fuerte y bien hecha , trae sus tornillos incluidos listo para colocarse. Vamos a ver qué pasa con el tiempo.
