Good hardware.

I use these hinges to hang a cafe door. The installation was very straightforward. The instructions were very thorough. It's been several months since I installed them, and they work great.

Good hinges. They work, if you know what you are doing, follow directions and have enough intuitiveness to figure things out. Be sure you know how these things mount before you buy. I saw bad reviews where people blame the hinge for their own ignorance. One review I saw on the finish was hilarious. How anyone could think you could buy solid brass hinges like this for $25 a pair is beyond me...but that's the general public for you! These are not for the low skilled person who can barely turn a screwdriver. You need some mechanical ability to install and make these function correctly. Only 4 stars because I have no idea the longevity of these things under proper used and installation conditions. I am using them in an outside application...NOT what these are made for, but I knew that up front, and wanted to test drive the idea before spending the serious bucks real Bonner hinges cost. The plated finish does start to deteriorate quickly outdoors but the hinges are still working fine after 6 months of spring and summer rain and heat. Of course I immediately and repeatedly spray(ed) them with silicone lubricant spray...like I said, you need to know what you are doing...

Superior American-made quality, well worth the extra cost

Pictures can be deceiving. Yes you ou can find similar-looking hardware on Amazonor eBay for half the price. I say, don't bother. I had used them. But the springs failed, the pins kept falling out, and they develop a lot of play so that the doors did not hang straight. As soon as these arrived I could tell at their weight, the gauge of the metal and the lack of any wobble that I found what I had been looking for. They do a great job holding up my swinging doors and I do not expect them to fail, ever.

Good

These are good hingers, the V127 3" double acting from National Hardware. I think they could improve on the pin that holds the spring tension, but a small nail does fine when you lose the original. It's a good idea to spray them with a light oil every couple of months to keep them from rusting too much. Still working well after 9 months...

-I thought it would be nice for my screened porch so my dog could go in and out,but the wind always blew the doors open one way or another. There's nothing like a latch and a stop. Wasted my money.

Swinging Door Hignes

Great product, great price. I needed to create a screen door that the dog could open by himself. I looked for swinging door hinges in stores and on line. The price for the two pack with NH was less than that of one hinge at other places. The quality is exactly the same. Since I have ordered with Amazon in the past, I knew it was a place I could trust.
