Not perfect.
I had a pinhole leak in a water tube made of hard yet flexible plastic (PEX or similar) and tried this out to repair it instead of replacing the entire tube. The water managed to creep out from under the tape and leak through it. The tape did however perfectly bond to itself, just not the tubing.

Best that I've used.
Having used silicone tape bought at hardware and building supply stores, I was never too happy with the outcome. Some repairs were good, most were so-so. I had a persistent leak on the supply line to a bathtub and was tired of fixing it, so decided to check alternatives.The 4.5 star rating on this product made me decide to try it. It worked beautifully. It was thicker than the store bought tape so I could wrap it tighter. No more leak (for now). Only one disappointment...I am used to extra quick delivery from Amazon sources ( almost every item beat the posted arrival time), and this took a week to arrive. To be honest, there was no "one day" shipment option available and Amazon did state that the provider normally will ship in 4 to 5 days...which they did. However an item designed for "emergency repair", it should have had the "next day" option.

Does not work on hose leaks
I tried to wrap a leak in a hose, but it just leaked around the tape. It did work, however on a leaky faucet connection - I just cannot detach the hose now.

It Works!
When we turned on the hose a couple of weeks back, we discovered that it had a split, creating a lovely spray of water - which didn't get the winter's grime rinsed off the patio. I found this and ordered it; it worked! We wiped the hose clean with a soft rag (a sock with a hole in it), located the split without turning on the hose, and wrapped this around the hose. Simply pull the paper back from a little bit of the hose, and press the end against the hose, starting about an inch away from the end of the split. Then pull it pretty tightly while wrapping around the hose, removing a couple of inches of paper at a time. Overlap the wraps by half of the width of the tape, and continue to an inch past where the split ends. It's only been a couple of weeks, but, so far, so good! And it beats buying a new hose and having to get the old one taken away on "cleanup days"!

Fixed a leak that caulking just would not do.
Wrap and Repair silicone tape is basically thin silicone in the form of a tape. It's almost like a thick rubber band, that you stretch and apply around anything that you want to seal together. The tape itself doesn't have any adhesive on it, but the stretch and circling around itself causes the tape to self stick to what you need to do. It would be best used to wrap around an object. You basically stretch it to twice it's length, and circle it around what you need to repair or wrap. I don't think one can simply apply it flat to anything. I have used it around my work place. I had a plumbing leak that couldn't get sealed with silicone caulk, so I decided to wrap the tubing around with this. Leak gone. Later I applied it to some connectors that would not seems to stay together. another problem solved. I don't know how long the hold is going to last, but I am really glad to have this.

Says it can be used to patch a garden hose, it can NOT.
I purchased this product t because I have a pinhole in my garden hose and this said it could fix that. I have a higher end 50ft hose so it was a lot cheaper to go this route if it worked rather than replacing the hose. I was very careful as to follow the instructions perfectly, I even let it sit for a few days, one afternoon in the sun, hoping that would help solidify the seal. It didn't work whatsoever, it didn't even slow the leak down. The water is just coming out of the side of the tape now instead, and I wrapped it about 5 or 6 inches farther down from the hole on both sides and even double layered it like the instructions said. It's very disappointing because usually 3M products work better than most others, but this one was a complete failure. Looks like it would work well for other reasons, but don't bother trying to patch a garden hose with this, you will just be throwing money away.

Worked when nothing else would
So many attempts with other products before trying this one. They all failed at stopping a leak on hundred year old pipes we couldn’t get replaced (pandemic and all…). I hoped but didn’t think anything would solve our problem, but this did! Amazon! Many months later at this point and not one issue. We bought more to keep in our house “emergency supplies”. Highly recommended.

Works great!
I used this to repair a hole in one of the hoses of my garden irrigation system. So far so good. It went on easily and has been working leak free for a few months now.
