Excellent, but make sure it's right for your application
This product did just what it is supposed to do. At first it appeared to be too soft, but proved to seal very well. However, the surface of the strip can stick to certain materials. It is not adhesive. But oddly, can cling like syran wrap when compressed against certain surfaces. We put this around our entire door frame, and within hours could no longer pull the door open. The weatherstrip was adhered as intended to the door frame, but then also adhered to the door. This is probably limited to surfaces that are metal or have a glossy finish - our door is metal with a gloss paint. Ultimately, I had to put all my energy into pulling on the door to get it open - like foot on the wall, two hands on the door handle, and putting my back into it. It was stuck around the whole perimeter of the door. We thought we would have to call someone to help push from the outside. In the end the weatherstrip ripped into shreds because of this, so we just pulled the rest down and trashed it. It's a good product, but make sure it doesn't stick to both surfaces as a test before sealing up your whole door. Perhaps thickness is the major issue for us, we did have to press the door closed as the tape was just slightly too thick for the gap.

Needs better adhesive on it.
I bought this tape to help fill a couple of gaps in a door and a window. This foam tape came as advertised and works okay so far. Prepare/clean the surface you're attaching this to. The adhesive on the sticky side isn't sticky enough and dirt or other matter will make it worse. I recommend a tiny bead of glue to help secure it to the surface you're using it on even if it is clean. On the sides of the door jamb, it has started to come off already. I used a bit of glue to help it along, so we'll see how that goes. I also applied a strip of tape to the bottom of a window. The tape started to come off before I was even able to close it the first time. I replaced it and closed the window on it to help set the adhesive. It didn't work. I had to use a bead of glue on this section. As for the effectiveness of the product, the tape works pretty good. It was able to close the gap in the door jamb to keep drafts out. The window I used it on no longer has a draft. The foam works well to compress and fill in tiny gaps when the window is shut. If the adhesive was a bit better, it'd be a five star. As it is, with a bit of added glue, the product works pretty good so far. *Some products I receive for free or at a discount price in exchange for an honest review. Most items I personally purchase. This particular item was a personal purchase.

Did I just get punked...
I have to admit... I am really confused here. I buy a lot of home improvement items on Amazon and never have a problem with them but this was just comically bad. The confusion arises because no one else seems to have had a problem! I followed the instructions to a tee (not all that difficult, stick it on, pull the paper backing off), closed the door and went on with my business. About 3 hours later when I opened the door to leave my doorway was a foam spiderweb. Parts of the side without adhesive had magically stuck to the door, parts of the sticky side stayed in place... it was so ridiculous looking that I left it that way for day just for laughs. It should be known that there were no temperature fluctuations that could have contributed to this; inside the condo was a constant 74 degrees and the common tiled hallway outside was 76. Anyway, the next day when I pulled the foam/tape off figuring for $5 who really cares if it didn't work, the side that had stuck to the door pulled the paint off with it!!! Now I'm pretty irritated. The previous rubber stripping is gone, the hallway sounds louder than ever and my door is missing chunks of paint. I don't know if the product itself is to blame for this, which is the ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. I will say the side without adhesive didn't feel sticky, at least not more-so than foam tends to. So I guess I would just say try it out yourself, maybe you'll get the same stellar results as everybody else maybe you'll end up as utterly dumbfounded as me.

Easy to put up. Hard to close the door!
I bought this because I could see light and feel a draft along all sides of my apartment door. Other than energy saving, this also means that bugs can easily crawl in. I installed it in about 10 minutes including cleaning the surface to prep it. The adhesive isn't really sticky feeling so I thought it was going to come off easily but it's still holding fine a month later. Never had problems with it like other reviewers but I imagine if you keep unsticking and resticking it will not hold. The only trouble was closing the door after. The first time I didn't think it would close at all. I had to lean against it hard to deadbolt it. It got much easier after a few days but I still need to pull on the knob while locking the deadbolt with my key. But that's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Helps if you're trying to block noise coming in through the apartment door edges
This is the same review as the other size of M-D Building products closed cell foam tape, because I used a combination of the two to seal the door edges. I live in NYC. The neighbors (and their kids) were driving me nuts, because the hallway is all stone and tile. Every little sound echoes, never mind when a group of 10 kids is running up and down the hallway screaming. Cue closed cell foam tape. Figured I'd give it a shot, didn't cost that much, might help. And it did. It didn't block all sound (not what I was expecting), but it did cut down on noise volume coming into the apartment from outside by at least 50%. Which takes a bit of the edge off those screaming kids I mentioned. Or the little bastitch that hangs around outside my door bouncing his ball again and again. Hmmm... maybe some superglue and tacks will take care of that one...

Works Okay
Works relatively well, not as sticky as I would hope and a bit tricky to get to stay on. But it is good density. I did clean the windows first and let them dry but it still didn't stick to some areas, especially after it got damp outside. It also will not stick over old paint which I cannot scrape off as I'm a renter. It did help block out the heat and rain after I reinforced it with some tape. I used around my air conditioner and to seal off old broken windows my landlord wouldn't fix.

Not sticky
The adhesive is so poor that when ai unrolled it to cut pieces the waxed paper strip stuck to the nonadhesive side by static alone. Ridiculous.

barely does the job
The foam tape is not sticky enough and it comes off really easily.... any product from Homedepot will work better.

adhesive is not good
The adhesive is weak and the strip would move and come off. Would not recommend this.

Fantastic for stopping the draft that was coming through our door.
Works great! Sticks very well to our existing weather stripping, gave it that extra layer that our door needed to stop the draft.
