It works great and good value.

I must say the product works great but it does have a chemical smell to it when you first open it. I think because it is sealed when made and does not breathe until you open it. After awhile it seemed to go away. All good. Carry on….

Great alternative to Office Depot Tape.

Works exactly the same as the tape I used to buy from Office Depot, but at a fraction of the cost. Great Value for my work-at-home mail order business.

Perfect for Moving Boxes!

This is the second time I have purchased this item! I love the extra wide tape! We used it on our moving boxes and had great adhesion. The boxes that we packed with this tape survived a cross country move. The thickness of the tape was also assuring while closing up the boxes. To be honest, I know there is cheaper tape out there but I feel with this amazon Basics tape you use less because of its extra wide coverage and durability. I was using more lengths of the cheaper tape and going over multiple areas of the moving boxes because the cheaper tape was too narrow and thinner. So, cost benefit wise, this tape is worth it.

Doesn't fit handheld dispensers

Good quality, adheres well to a variety of materials. As other reviewers have stated, this does not fit in standard handheld packaging tape dispensers. Had to purchase a large tabletop dispenser to use with these rolls. I use thermal labels, and this tape fades the thermal print until it has almost completely disappeared - so if you use a thermal printer, don't put this tape over your printing! I have never notived another tape magically dissolve my labels like this. Otherwise, good tape for the price.

Best bargain packing tape I've ever purchased

I have to admit, I'm used to buying 3M or Scotch tape for packaging. It's just what was always available but saw the low, low price of this AmazonBasics tape and thought what do I have to lose. Amazon is GREAT about returns (as long as it's within the 30 days) and this tape seems to be 1/10th of what I was paying for the name brand. -you get ALOT of tape: If you're looking at this review, you already know what a bargain this is per yard compared to the competitors. I've included a picture so you can see how much tape it is on the dispenser (also my reading glasses as a frame of reference for size). -great adhesion/strong tape: I'm about to move and needed tape for all those dishpack and other heavy boxes. This seals up the boxes really well, seems strong (I'll update the review if things fall apart after the review but doubtful as you can kind of tell if the tape is weak when it comes off the reel - no it isn't reinforced like some but I don't think I need those reinforced threadings on some) -dispenses perfectly off of the reel: I've had a few brands that did not dispense well. It would tear midway so you were left w/half the width of the tape and had to manually go back to the beginning to untear the rest. I'm not explaining this as well as I want to but it's when the full width of the tape does not dispense but instead tears in half width wise. I've taped up a lot of boxes and this has not occurred I've read some reviews where people state that there was some excess adhesive that ended up outside of the box. This hasn't happened yet but I will say that I did feel there was more adhesive on this tape than others. I like it as I think it adds to adhesion (once the tape is on, it does not move or want to peel off). Perhaps they reformulated the adhesive quality of this tape but for me, it worked perfectly. Superior tape product, fabulous (beyond competitive) price. I would say I would repurchase but I think this may be a lifetime supply for me!

Very good tape, as long as price is decent.

I bought a few packs of these and have been impressed by the thickness and quality. However, I got them for just £3.78 for a pack of 6 and I bought I think 8 packs in total. But since I bought them in April 2021, the price has gone up and has stayed up, currently over £13 for 6 rolls which is far too expensive and I wouldn't buy again for any higher than, say, £6. So in summary, good quality, quite sticky, thick and quite quiet when unrolling, but price is far too high. Sort it out Amazon - ridiculously expensive for a 'basics' product! Rating reflects quality, but it would be far lower if based on price.

Great for boxes, don't let it touch anything else

I'm so upset about this tape. I used it for a recent move, great for the cardboard boxes, no problem there. But I also used it to tape drawers and doors shut, and when I took it off after less than 2 months in storage, it often took varnish off the furniture with it. I used it to tape bundles of tools and bathroom rails etc together and it has left a thick glue residue on everything that's impossible to get off. I have not even managed to get it off with Goo Gone from the US which is supposed to get anything like that off. Pretty amazed that amazon would let something like that through quality control.

Generally good value

For a six roll pack, each pack with approximately 100 meters of tape, for around ten to twelve pounds it's thankfully good value. Positives - There's a lot of tape. It has very good adhesion to cardboard and paper, the tape is thicker than standard packaging tape. It's far stronger than regular packaging tape, hard to tear by hand. Negatives - Has poor adhesion to pallet wrap, tape literally peeled off hours later. Wrapping smaller items can be tricky as the thickness doesn't allow for much contortion. Overall, for the right price it's definitely worth it for parcel wrapping and general use.

Brilliant quality tape - a real bargain!

Until now I've been getting my tape from a popular online auction site, but recently the quality had been going down whilst the price goes up. Over to Amazon then, and I thought I've give their Basics tape a go, and boy am I glad I did as it's brilliant. This is really good quality tape with great adhesion and it's really really strong - forget the flimsy rubbish stuff on the market, this stuff is really heavy duty - so much so that it can be hard to tear with your teeth so it works best on a tape gun (or at least have scissors handy in case you struggle!). I'll certainly be giving Amazon's other Basics packaging stuff a go, and I hope their brown packing tape is as good as this stuff. I'll certainly be going back to Amazon for my tape in future, this is top quality.
