Works great but very slow response time
For a unit that has all the functions this one has, it is a great buy! I would recommend it to anyone who has the patience to wait for the accurate response. It takes time for the meter to display the correct reading. If you are impatient you may not get the final (correct) display information. The display changes over time as it adjust for accuracy. It would be better if it did not display any value other than 'processing' while calculating the results. But it appears to be very accurate. The time delay does make continuity checking difficult. I would have only rated it 3 stars for that reason. However, given all its functionality, that set back is not as much of an issue! I'd say buy it and deal with the delay! For the price it is a no brainer!

Almost...
Just a couple of notes... The orange cover is rubberized and protects the green plastic meter. You purchase additional/different leads - lookup Extech TL809 and you can see the different lead kits that are available. The backlight doesn't stay on when you turn it no. You have to press and hold the button for a few seconds for the light to come on, and while it's on you can press and hold it for a few sends to turn it off (all good). Unfortunately once you turn on the backlight it will automatically turn off after 15 seconds (disappointing). For some (annoying to me) reason, the unit beeps for each click as you rotate the dial to different functions. You can hear and feel the click so I don't know why it needs to beep too. Some have reported that it doesn't have a beep for a continuity tester, however it does have one. You have to select the correct mode (using the LPF/M button) to hear the beep. It comes with a CD with the Users Guide in a PDF file (it also comes with a pre-printed Users Guide). Extech has their own web site.

This is a great meter for the price
This is a great meter for the price, and a significant upgrade from the EX330. However, there are a few issues... - The test leads that came with it were not very good. I recommend getting theExtech TL809 Electronic Test Lead Kit as well. - The knob, if not placed directly in a detent, can cause a short and drain the batteries. The meter was not damaged, but this could cause major problems if someone decides to use rechargeable batteries.

Get what you pay for or a little less
I left my beloved Simpson 260 in the office of a client over Thanksgiving weekend. The place was broken into and my 38 year old Simpson was part of their booty. That meter had survived 38 years of near constant travel--all 50 states, most of Europe and a good deal of Middle East and some of Asia. I am old school and OLD, so that meter was ideal. Go digital, everyone said. Fluke is great, but over priced they said. So I purchased perhaps the slowest multimeter in the universe. Yeah, it has lots of features for the $. About 1/3 the cost of a similar Fluke. It works, but it is sooooo sloooooow. I started doubting myself when testing it out. Why no reading? Oh, go get a snack or a drink and then you might see the digits. Of course that is a stretch, but this much is true, the time to read either voltage or resistance in real life WORK situations is indeed slow. I expected some slow compared to the analog Simpson. But, on a major check out, it grew tiresome waiting on the meter EVERY point. The more "bench" stuff, cap, and resistor testing is nice and a bit slow. To me, it was less of an issue in those modes. Side by side with an old GW//Instek bench DMM, the accuracy was right on the money. Backlight is a real issue. Have to turn it on....and have not found how to keep it on for any length of time. Big issue for some of what I need it for. Menu structure and keystrokes seem ok. Not the most intuitive, but then I am used to an analog meter. So I can accept some learning curve. Still on $75---not throw away, but not great value. For occasional use, it should be just fine. But there is, I have learned, a reason you see real Pros using Fluke. I try not to be swayed by a brand, but based on my early use of this unit, I can see why a pro would be disgusted with it in about 5 minutes. Again, you get what you pay for and if you are a limited user and have a tight budget it does offer a lot of features for the price. That reminded me that selecting tools is not just specs and $ to balance---you have to think about how you will use the equipment. Slow and no backlight (no always on for backlight) have colored my view of the unit. Perhaps that says more about my failure to research and test then it does about the meter or manufacturer. Not gonna send it back. It just might be the tuition I have had to pay to find what will serve me like my old Simpson did.

Very close to a Fluke (Update: Can it be always trusted ? Not sure anymore...)
Well built. Provides accurate, consistent, stable and fast measurements. Nice LCD display. The function diaI is robust (not flimsy like many DMMs). Hope it will stay reliable over time. UPDATE (2022-02-03): On two unrelated events, the multimeter provided inconsistent measurements while using the resistance scale. For example, I was expecting less than a couple of ohms on a disconnected 10-foot copper wire (20AWG) but the measurement was about 80ohms. What? I therefore checked all my measurement connections many times (disconnect, reconnect), cleaned the probes, moved the wire around, turned OFF and ON the multimeter. I was still getting about 80ohms !!! I then left for 2 minutes and when I came back the multimeter was displaying 0.6ohms as it should be. I then tried to provoke the bad reading again without success. As I already said, this type of incorrect measurement happened to me at least twice recently.

Extremely Happy Customer. Very accurate.
Very happy with this instrument. Very responsive and fast for measurements. Capacitance and resistance are on upon testing with 0.01% capacitors and resistors. Only had to give the probe tips a clean with fine grit sandpaper and a wipe with rubbing alcohol in order to have a quick latching continuity function. Feels very solid with a very nice and thick rubber casing and nice build quality. The probes are also good for their insulation and overall quality. There is also a nice click on the range selector switch that makes it hard to be in the wrong range. Overall, love the instrument and would recommend it 100%.

Very good DMM for the workbench
This is a very good and reliable DMM for the workbench. It also features a low impedance (LoZ) measure of voltage. I use it a lot with my other DMMs (Fluke, Reed, etc.). It provides consistent readings. The case is well designed (very good grip, metal screw and metal anchor for the battery holder, easily accessible fuse), and the circuitry is also designed to last (as well as to endure some bad treatments). I take good care of my measuring instruments, but unfortunately after a few weeks of normal use the plastic housing of the 10A post had fallen into pieces. Quite a pity. But, upon being informed of the defect, EXTECH customer experience manager promptly offered to replace the unit. I received the new unit today, and it is in excellent condition. I am now totally satisfied with this DMM.

Prima impressione
