The reel that made me fall in love with baitcasting.
This is the best under $100 baitcaster out there. I love how solid the construction is and the retrieve and drag is smooth. One of the problem I had with previous baitcaster is it's hard to fine tune heavier weights. But tuning the Fuego is easy. I can cast further than my spinning tackle which surprised me. So far I have yet to get a bird nest. I never imagine I would prefer baitcasting over spinny but now I do. I think it's important to get a quality reel. I highly recommend Daiwa Fuego CT. Get the left handed version if u are used to spinning tackle and retrieving with left hand. The transition feels very natural. Update: After two years of use, what I learn is the fuego bearings are not meant for saltwater usage. But you can still use it for saltwater if you clean and oil the bearings after use. Make sure to rince the reel with freshwater and then take the reel apart to dry the internal gears to prevent corrision. Make sure to grease the gears and drag symtem lightly to prevent before reassembling. If you don't like to do maintenance often I recommend replacing the stock bearings with either hybrid ceramic bearings or full ceramic bearings. That will essentially make the fuego saltwater reel. Anyways I still use the fuego and it's as smooth as the first time I use it. If you know how to care for it it will last many years. I recently upgraded to Daiwa Tatula 100 and 200. The T wing system is awesome.

Seems like a great Reel, but picture and description a little misleading
I will be using this reel for the first time on my upcoming vacation. It seems like a well made reel. It turns smoothly and seems tight and well made. Small and compact but strong enough to catch fish. The only negative so far is the actual description. The picture shows a right handed real and I was really surprised when I received a left handed reel. In going back and reading the description again, there is nothing that says there is a choice of left or right. Very disappointing. I don't have time to send it back before I leave, so I will try to use it left handed.

Best $72 plus tax ever spent on a reel!
So I first order the Piscifun Phantom baitcast reel and it turned out to be junk. So I returned and ordered this Daiwa Fuego CT, left hand, 6:3:1. I must say this is one sweet reel, I have fished with it several times, it is flawless and glass smooth. I have been using Lews super duty reels and really like them, they are very rugged and very well built for about $180. This Daiwa feels smoother, cast farther for me, and fit and finish are top notch for sub-$100. I am very happy with with this purchase, don't be afraid to give this reel a try. Edit: 5/10/18, I have used this reel exclusively for several months now and it is holding up very well. I have caught large mouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. Largest fish on this reel is 4-5 lbs. The drag is pretty darn good for price paid, reel is still silky smooth and cast great. Thought I would take a few minutes and give a real usage update. Hope this helps someone. Thanks

Easy Set Up
Out of all my reels, the Fuego is the most forgiving of them all. Before setting a reel up loose , I always see of I can get them set up for a decent no-thumb cast without the pain of a dreaded birdsnest. This is really important on days when you have no choice but to make casts into the wind. With this reel, it's possible to make longish casts with the brake set fairly tight, which is a real treat. As a bonus, this is a great reel for folks new to baitcasters. It's that easy.

Good but not silky smooth
So far, reel has performed very well. Casts far. The only thing is that it isn't quite silky smooth like I expected. The handle seems to turn and has a spot where I get a little more resistance. For an entry-level baitcaster, though, pretty solid.

Smooth casting, amazing reel!
I am new to baitcasters this year. I have tried kastking, quantum, abu garcia, and this one. I would trade all my others in to buy another one. The first cast out, I could tell the difference. It is so smooth, casts far (can't imagine if how far it'll go if I back off the brakes and tension), and forgiving. If you are going to get one reel, get this one. It is worth it!

A superb reel; best bang for the buck out there!
2nd one after having such great experience with the first unit. Still birdsnet once in a while but that’s user error more than this reel. I’ve tried others under $100 and I’m sold this is the best performing and quality made sub $100 reel available. I’ll probably pick up another one when it’s time to add a new rod to the arsenal. I don’t see the need to spend more unless perhaps you’re fishing daily, and don’t see the need for the T-wing Tatula at an additional cost - this is essentially the Tatula minus T-wing. Get one; you won’t regret the value of its performance and quality!

Great reels
I have two of these reels one 6.3 and 8.1. There on 7' diawa airdx rods heavy moderate. 8.1 I use for heavy cover ,frogs top water with 17lb mono and the 6.3 for anything from crank/jerk/swimjigs/ to dropshot. There smooth lightweight and the cast like a tatula. No backlash and no movement when setting the hook in deep. I love these lil babies.. I fish alot and I recommend it to all levels of fishing. I have some very high end reels and these work just as good for a cheaper price.
