Expensive for a simple power block.
If you plan on using the fan on your portable heater, this is a must-have, as the required D-cell batteries will only last for a while. The wire from the block to the plug is flimsy, and you must protect it from damage. It's a bit pricey, however.

Worth the extra money!
This is better than just using batteries when electricity is available! The heater works without electricity and is the reason I bought it. For emergencies like a major power outage caused by a snow storm like the recent one in Buffalo N.Y. Since using it I enjoy having the extra comfort it brings and the fan adapter does make a difference!

Better Heating Better Efficiency! Update: JUNK!
Second Update!!!! Mr Heater replaced the defective item without an issue. NOW, AFTER 4 WEEKS, THE REPLACEMENT FAILED. !!!!!!! JUNK. NEXT TIME I'LL BUY THE KNOCK OFF FOR LESS MONEY. UPDATE!!! Exactly two days after the return window closed at Amazon this adapter stopped working. I thought by buying an original part from Mr Heater it would be a better quality. Do yourself a favor and buy the cheapest one you can find even if it's aftermarket. Because it's not going to last. We have had a Mr Heater Big Buddy for 3 years and have never even tried using the built-in fan before. When I started looking at the 6v adapters for about the same price as a set of d cell batteries, I was ready to take the plunge. There are many knock offs / generic brands out there and they're all about the same price. Then I ran across this one, and for the same amount of money I am getting an original, Mr Heater branded adapter. Sold. It arrived quickly and I plugged it on and luckily the fan on our heater did indeed work. I fired up the heater that evening and all I can say is, WOW! The fan sends the heat out into the room creating a more even and comfortable heat source. And the biggest difference we noticed was when we used the heater on the lowest setting. It kept the room very comfortable. Down side? There's a fan running creating a bit of white noise the was never there before. We'll gladly trade the small amount of noise for the increased efficiency and comfort created by this small inexpensive adapter.

Great $ to BTU/hr Ratio
A must have for the Big Buddy heater. Though the heater is a fantastic addition to my garage/man-cave/dog house, it was TRULY Better with the fan running. By moving the air around you certainly get the best efffect of the fantastic heat that this "system" puts out, while being extremely efficient. I do not find the advertised rate of runnig this heater to be an exageration. Fantastic Big Buddy "System". Purchase the 12 ft, quick disconnect hose, move the tanks outside, free up floor space, and purchase the power source for the fan, and you will have a high quality, reliable, economical, portable heating system. Worth every $, in my opinion.

Make sure your heater has an AC option
While this product is high quality, it is not compatible with the heater that Amazon suggested on its website. I had to return the unit wasting both the sellers money and my time.

The post that goes into the heater is too short and keeps popping out.
I had to modify to use by trimming back some of the plastic holder. I needed it NOW so sending back wasn't an option. I also duct taped it to the back of the heater to keep it in place. It works now but not like $50 adapter should.

Shipping was fast.
Ok so i had got big buddy from Canadian tire. And ordered plug as i was buying big buddy.. but once i got home.. to my surprise big buddy in Canada at that time did not come with fan. So plug was sent back.. sad day.. i really wanted that heater..

Better than running on batteries
Good product, does what it’s supposed to do, gives the fan more power than just running on batteries.
