Happy with replacement part but not with snowblower

Filled the bill perfectly. Briggs made a big design mistake that is made to fail. A leg broke off on my Toro Snowblower. This one got me going again. Happy with replacement part but not with snowblower.

Good price for this direct replacement.

Good price for this direct replacement. Installation is ok if you know what you're doing. 20-30 minutes The part, itself, is perfect...the installation is made faster if you have the right tools. I use a 1/4 gearwrench and a 10mm rachet bit to access that difficult bolt. Good luck!

Part fit perfectly and Worked 1st time. No Modification on Toro Power Clear Snow Blower Model 221QE

The bottom bolt for the starter motor mount is difficult to install. The snow blower case must be completely removed to access the bolts for removal and reinstallation.

Needs .006 inch Shims (bolt mounting offset)!!!!!! NOT SUPPLIED

Unit doesn't align to work properly so requires some kind of shims to off-set the base when mount to the snow blower chassis. One can try a sacrificial feeler gage and cut small shims . Then mount to the motor with a piece of thread to hold in place as try to mount it via the bolt holes. The starter button is just a simple switch (no rectifier circuit), but is sealed so couldn't really replace that alone. Old starter had wear on the teeth. MECHANIC SAYS ONE IS BETTER OFF JUST TRYING TO USE A RECOIL PULL STARTER and forget teh pain in... starter (electric).

Alignment

Didn't like replacement starter not aligning proper out of box. Hits flywheel, bends gear shaft on starter breaking internal housing thereby rendering useless after only 3 starts. Had to use washers under starter to get proper alignment to flywheel. Now works great, smooth, instant start and very quiet.

Product was as advertised

The product came as advertised and fit like a glove, and preformed as I expected. I tested the starter which was an exact match to the one I took out, and it did the job. I hope that when I put the Toro CCR3650 back in service it will continue to operate as well.

Works Well if installed Properly

Got this for my Toro 521 snowblower (Model No. 38584). Installing it was somewhat of a nightmare because of the way the Toro is made. However, it started up my snowblower pretty quickly this past season. I have only had it for one season, so I don't know how long it will last, though.

Original part Briggs and Stratton

Expensive but is doing the job . Original part. Installed and turned on . Like a breeze! Made in China but the quality standards are much higher than "no name" products. Highly recommended. It did work for two starts. Today , February 7th , the starter did not turn on. It did try , once , twice to rotate but did not engage , then crashed. I will dismantle it and see if there is any warranty left. Pictures will follow. Amazon replaced the defective one right away. Thank you Amazon. It looks like to old one was having some electrical trouble . Good service!

Terrible product

This motor breaks and ceases to work after one or two starts. Has been used once in Dec, 2022 installed in the spring of 2022 and not used until now. Not startingagain.

High Quality OEM

OEM quality part, three prong replaces the old two prong cord so can use any extension cord with it. Bolted right in and work like a charm again!
