Big Help

The instructions told me to install one screw, then put the soap dish in the wall, then install the 2nd screw. I didn't do that. I started both screws, but just barely - then put the soap dish in the hole, then positioned it, then tightened both screws. That way, I avoided what I thought would be difficult: getting the 2nd screw started once the assembly was in the hole. Altogether, it worked pretty well. Hardest part was installing the spring to the brace. That takes some strength and dexterity.

Just what I needed

This was needed to install the Moen 2575 Contemporary Recessed Toilet Paper Holder, Chrome holder I ordered. It works well.

A good concept that has been poorly engineered

I purchased this item thinking it’s a quick and easy solution to installing a recessed toilet roll holder without having to build a custom wood backing. The instructions were either missing or unclear. It turns out the spring is intended to press against whatever backing is already in place. The slits visible in the bracket are supposed to be for screwing the bracket to a backing using two screws supplied. Using two more screws the toilet roll holder is then fastened to the bracket using the same slits. A good idea but it has these disadvantages: It is flimsy, The slits get damaged and deformed easily, The spring does not provide uniform pressure across the width of the bracket. I ended up using 2 X 4 lumber and a piece of wood sanded down to specifications to build a custom backing that is both solid and allows for a flush installation.

It is flexible and works for all recessed toilet paper holders. the spring let you position it and stay while you work.

Not the best design

Not the best design for a device that must exert constant pressure on the toilet paper holder. It's also difficult to position in the interior wall after making a hole in the sheetrock.
