Prob better than a bike for Scoomuters!!
I live only a mile or two from my workplace but have been driving my car back and forth recently because I have to come home on my 30-40 min lunch break to walk my dog. I used to love walking or biking to work before I got my dog, but my bike broke down and when I looked into getting a new bike, a good quality one seemed so expensive, like close to $1000!!. Plus I would get sweaty biking to work, struggling up small hills, and could never wear skirts if I was biking. I hated using my car for 2 round trips a day for such a short distance, so I researched "adult" scooters and this one seemed like the best! It was SO easy to "unbox" and assemble, I would almost say no real assembly required, it was so minimal, basically just unfold and snap into place! My main fears/concerns before purchasing the scooter were 1) How fast could I really go and at what effort/sweatiness level would that require?/How would it compare to biking or walking for effort level vs. speed/efficiency? 2) How manuverable would it be on sidewalks and around turns for me as a total newbie? 3) How safely could I brake and slow down with the rear fender brake, esp since there are a few moderate hills on my route? I will say this, all my concerns/fears are at ease after trying it out!! I do think it is important to wear sturdy shoes. If you are commuting (I hate to say scoomuting) to work, it would prob be best to wear tennis shoes on the scooter and change into you work shoes once you get there unless you can wear relatively sturdy shoes to work anyway. 1) On my route with a few small up and down hills, I found it very easy to make the trip in a faster pace than prob even biking, and it's very easy to coast at a relatively high speed without continually kicking as long as you're not going up a slope. Up a slight slope you're going to be kicking more. Flat or down a slight hill it's effortless and you glide! I have a few sections of short but slightly steeper uphill, and for those I just walk the scooter cause it's easier and less effort. 2) For manuerverability, I would say it is very easy to turn and feel safe about it, even for me just starting out. Dips in sidewalks between driveways, bumps in asphalt, just be a little careful til you get the feel for it, but it was very able to handle the bumps with the large wheels! 3) Lastly, the braking... for sure you cannot stop this thing as quickly as you could a bike with hand brakes, that is for sure. For me it was easy to go down a relatively steep neighborhood downhill and just hold the rear fender brake down to slow my speed (though it could not actually stop the scooter's momentum), and then just step off when I needed to because in my case it was a stop sign and turn at the bottom of the hill. In an "emergency braking" situation like a squirrel runs into your path, it's gonna be harder to stop short quickly, but for your own safety the good news is that it's very easy to slow your speed by tapping/planting your free foot on the ground repeatedly, and/or just hop off the scooter. It felt very safe to me even on downhills or in situations where the brake didn't feel effective enough, just to tap/plant my foot to help brake and slow the speed quickly. I think if anything, since it's not an electric scooter, you will prob never be in a position where you can't just stop or slow your speed under your own power once you realize that you can use your free foot to slow down or hop off (and therefore quickly come to a stop). Overall, I feel very safe and comfortable riding this scooter, and for my situation it seems like a better non-car commuter option than a bike, unless you already like biking for longer distances.

Necessary Evil
I've debated getting a scooter for a while since storing a bike isn't really possible where I live... and all of the collapsible models all tend to suck no matter where I look in person and online. Price was no object and an electric variation was considered but no matter who manufactured it, there'd always be a good number of people complaining about firmware issues, lock-ups, piss-poor battery life or straight up false advertising. The Razor A6 caught my attention due to a high score and many reviews raving about it being the best thing ever invented since air conditioning. There aren't any complex parts, no mystery, no assem... actually, there's a wee bit of fooling with the handlebars but anyone with an IQ above room temperature can stick them in the slots. Mine in particular was a return and methinks it was due to a slight deviation with the handles and front wheel. It was a maybe 10° to the left with the handle straight but it was sorted out in 30 seconds with a 5mm (I think) Allen wrench. If yours looks a little off just loosen it, re-align the wheel perpendicular to the handles and re-tighten, no rocket science involved. In fact, there's an online PDF with a few photos on how to correct some known errors with these scooters. Currently I'm mastering the art of staying balanced while in ...slow... motion... which is harder than it sounds. On smooth ground it's all fine and dandy but if it's anything other than perfect you'll have a bad time. The parking lots in my area are FULL of cracks, uneven crumbly bits, holes/craters and are often made of that half-arsed pebble texture so it's a bumpy and dangerous ride. The vibration is something I can get used to since my summer car has very stiff suspension and as a result I feel every imperfection on the road. No biggie on the scooter for lack of super smooth riding though springs would've been a nice addition for a few extra dollars. The deduction in one star is caused by something minor ~ everything sticks to this darn thing *all over* the place. Dirt gets on the wheels on anything so I can accept that. I've done s'loads of yard/farm work in my younger years so it's expected from wheelbarrows to tractors. This scooter will collect every blade of grass, flower, weed, seed, and whatever those little yellow seeds are from super tall grass. If you plan on keeping this unit outside for storage then fine, all the more power to you, but anyone who needs to bring it inside you'll have to park/fold it on newspaper or hose it off. There's no learning curve to getting a good feel for this thing even if a scooter was not a part of your childhood. Since I was too gosh-darn fat and mom was on a shoestring budget, I didn't have one. Now, 32 years later, I finally get one to enjoy. Now if only I can master the art of making turns while sailing through parking lots with more craters than the moon. Even if I was wearing protective gear it wouldn't ease the subconscious fear of falling over and breaking something. Let me just say the fact I wasn't killed in my younger years is nothing short of a miracle.

Solid push scooter
This is a solid scooter that will fit most adult. I am 6ft, 155lbs and it did not feel small. Solid build. I would recommend oiling the latch to make it easier to fold. I would recommend.

Top of the line
We do not drive in a car on our sabbath so we scoot. All 6 of us. Together. This is one of the best scooters out there. Most common brand is prob Razor and they have a scooter that's $129 that's prob pretty comparable but if they are similar in sturdiness, speed and smoothness why pay more. It comes down to preference. I would say for adults this is prob the largest one with the most foot space. We just ordered our second. I would absolutely recommend.

Quick and easy transport
I bought this as a quick transport around town and to bring on vacations so I don't have to use my car. This was a Used item listed in very good condition. It was in great condition when I got it, I didn't find anything cosmetically wrong. I did have to readjust the front wheel alignment with the handlebars, and the fork was a little loose too. Luckily I've worked on bikes before and had tools to correct it. The website and instructions had all the info how to do it also. I'm 6 feet tall and the handlebar height is comfortable. I'm even able to get both feet on sideways when I'm coasting, like on a skateboard. I added a cheap bike headlight and it's useful at night. For a little over $100 it was worth it for what I want to use it for, and is compact to store and bring on vacation.

Good stuff!
Quality product for the price. Really well built. It rides smoothly on pavement and it does not rattle. Only small issue will be the handle bar grips. Don’t think they’ll last long but I might be wrong. Overall it’s good stuff! Really satisfied.
