DON'T FOLLOW THE TEMPLATE

As other have said, do not follow the template. I'm adding an image to show the template that I made for myself vs. the one that was included in the box. As you can see, the template is much too wide. I'm hoping the image in addition to everyone else's warnings will help people avoid putting extra holes in their wall. This would be extra annoying for someone who put the anchors in first. If someone wants to create their own template, here's one way: get piece of paper, fold it (important) evenly down the center so you still have 11.5 inches ("hotdog style"). Put the paper towel holder on the paper as if assembled with both circles barely touching the top. Make sure the part where it connects is aligned and straight, then sketch the two circles. Measure to the center of the circle and put a vertical line straight down. You can level the paper then use the level to sketch the line if you want to go overboard like I did, but you can probably just eyeball the vertical line. Then measure from the top to the center of the first hole on the top. Important: the bottom hole is not the same distance from the top one. It doesn't matter whether you get the measurement tot the first hole 100% perfect, but it is important it's in the center of the circle and that both marks are the same distance from the top. Then remove one of the brackets from the back. Center your mark on the top hole, then mark the bottom hole in the center of the bottom hole twice. You can either outline this circle and cut it out, or you can just use something sharp and pointy to poke through a dot you make. Mark the dots and drill your pilot holes or drywall anchor holes. If you're using drywall anchors, consider getting some wide-threaded screws meant for hanging things on drywall or at least a better/easier-to-use drywall anchor. If you're putting this into drywall, definitely make a smaller hole than indicated by the instructions. Pilot holes should be at least as wide as the width of the screw without the threads, and (obviously) not wider than the screw with the threads. Once installed, I really like the product. It looks good, and more importantly it's incredibly easy to change. We use Charmin extra strong (because soft toilet paper that flakes off is terrible) and there's plenty of room. It feels sturdy and is easy to clean. No complaints yet on the actual product once installed. I can't understand why Moen hasn't fixed the template problem yet. This would probably be one of the highest-rated paper towel holders on Amazon if they were paying any attention. It makes me think there is not a lot of feedback coming from customers that makes it to the people who need it, which doesn't give me a lot of trust in Moen as a company. It's concerning enough that I might go with a different brand for faucets and other trim in the future.

The pivoting toilet paper holder is great. Very easy to use, and would buy again.

Great TP holders - read reviews before installing!

I bought two of these to replace the single ended TP holders. The rolls kept falling out of the single ended L shaped ones and they were easy to come off the wall as my kids kept playing with it as if they were a joystick! The style of these Moens matched what I wanted. Plus the simple TP loading approach seemed like a good idea. So I went for it. I had read the reviews about the template being about 1/4” off. (Many Many) Thanks to all who mentioned that. I took the precaution to measure and adjust the drilling point by approx. 1/4”. In fact I kinda eyeballed it. See the pic of my template showing where I drilled one set of holes (on the circle rather than in center which was about 1/4” less than the full width). After I installed it, I loaded a Charmin Mega Roll to see how it would fit. It touches the circular base of the two ends. But not too bad. The TP rolled out easy without need to tug. See pic. Two thumbs up!! Only four stars due to the template being slightly off. I would like to give it 4.5 stars :) Glad I bought two. Tomorrow I will tackle the other bathroom. I wish there were a trick to easily tightening the set screws at the bottom with the Allen wrench that came with it. With the tight room below and the angle it is slowwwww to do it 50-60 degrees at a time. BTW I did not use the crappy anchors that came with the set. I bought some solid metal hollow wall anchors which I am really glad I did. They worked like a charm and I strongly recommend them.

Perfect replacement

Our builder installed the same towel holder but it was scratched in a few places. I was very happy to find a replacement for it…without scratches.

Good but be prepared, it's sized larger than average

Installed this and in order to do so I had to drill new holes, luckily the round mounting parts hide the old holes so I didn't have to patch the cabinet. If you're going into drywall this likely wouldn't be a problem. But the holder is wider than most standard ones. I didn't have a problem getting even larger rolls onto it once installed though. Pretty nice to not have to mess with spring loaded plastic fiddly bits when changing rolls

Modern look, Mounts securely, Pivoting design is great

Have owned this for 4 months. Easy to install. Mounts securely (no more unwanted twisting like our previous single post holder) and seems to accommodate large rolls. Love the pivoting design even more than I anticipated - not that changing a toilet paper roll is all that much effort, but this makes it so fast and I like that there’s no parts to accidentally drop in the process. The modern design of this Moen collection is very nice. Most of our bathroom features fixtures from another high-end brand’s collection, but I selected this one from Moen to coordinate since we didn’t want the single-post holder that went with the rest of our fixtures. Life is too short to be constantly realigning a toilet paper holder. (I’m not saying that all single post holders have issues with rotating, but our last ones did and we didn’t want to take a chance this time around.) Glad we went with this one.

Great Product

I included a picture because I saw several comments about the instructions being off. I followed it exactly and it worked well for me. The swivel piece hits about halfway so adjusting your measurements by more than 1/8 inch might cause it to not fall into the right spot. Love that it's a swivel too.

Perfect for pooping paper

This is a fantastic toilet paper holder. Nice and solid it is easy to install...I'm no Bob Villa and I got it installed -- level and lined up -- in less than an hour! This is way better than other holders that either have a spring roll that pops out and flies across the room when you are mid-job, or one of those fancy European ones that has a little bump to keep the roll from falling off. It never works and again, mid-job, you have to reach over and try to pick up the roll when you'd rather be taking care of business. No ifs, ands - this is perfect for your butts.

With the template that was included, it was very easy to install. I never want to go back to the old method of changing the toilet paper. This lift-up method is quick and efficient.
