Poor quality. Zipper broke after two uses. Great idea, though.
The zipper on the second large compartment broke after only two uses. My third business trip came after the 30-day return window, and I haven't found any other exchange options. I'm thinking the company either regularly makes shoddy products or has poor QAQC. If you're willing to risk $80 on what may end up being a use-twice-then-toss rental, go for it. (Great bag otherwise. The only other negative: it wasn't as comfy as I'd have liked for walking.) As for a review of the bag itself, aside from that: Why I ordered one: I travel a fair amount for work and was looking for a bag that would double as an elegant carry-on and would also be comfortable for walking between conference sites in cities. I have larger bags but wanted something for traveling light with just the essentials, but big enough for a few files, my computer cords and phone chargers. The backpack idea with urban style seemed perfect. Looks: I'm not really into patent faux reptile skin accents, but that part doesn't dominate. Black neutral works, not too bulky, not delicate either, pretty rectangular in silhouette. Not particularly beautiful, but nothing obnoxious about it. Function: Good balance of space, separate compartments for order, and keeping it sleek. I was happy with the overall arrangement, and could foresee lots of use out of it, and thought it would be great for keeping things well organized while traveling. Too bad it didn't live up to its potential. (The water bottle pocket is too shallow and will only hold small bottles. Great for the conference hand-outs, but not ideal for regular-sized reusable bottles.) Comfort: it wasn't as comfortable as I expected for walking; shoulders hurt after a while. I'm not weak, but I am on the smaller side, so perhaps it would work well for others. (Would be great if someone designed an urban laptop pack with an optional hipbelt designed to look like a neutral wide leather belt that would go with everything. Hipbelts do wonders for taking strain of your shoulders, and I try to walk whenever possible. Would be nice not to have to carry one of those REI hiker backpacks if you want comfort. I use those enough on the trails.) Quality: The outer zipper broke during my third trip with it (not laptop compartment, but second large compartment). There was no pressure on the zipper, no forcing. The bag was not overfull in terms of volume or weight. Had a laptop and a few files in it. I set the bag down and went to unzip it and noticed that the zipped sides had come apart in the middle forming a large opening where it should have been zipped up. Couldn't retrack when I tried to undo the zipper. Totally defunct. As for the quality on other features, I don't know how the rest of the bag would wear, because the broken zipper makes the bag unusable for its intended purpose, so it's been taking up space in my closet.

Finally! No shoulder pain and I don't look like a kid going to summer camp...
Part 1: I have been through dozens of laptop cases and they all have the same problem - you have to carry them in your hand or on one shoulder. This is OK for the first 15 feet, but no good when you're in Terminal A and your flight is about to depart from Terminal E. They hurt, they slide off, etc. Part 2: I've had the same pink backpack for years and it is oh so comfy. I usually get fed up with my laptop case and end up jamming it in the backpack, which makes security checkpoints one of those "snake in a can" experiences where everything flies out of your bag while you dig for your laptop (all while hopping on one bare foot). Also, it is nowhere near professional in appearance. Finally a bag that can pretty much do it all! It looks good, the shoulder straps are comfortable, your laptop is isolated so you just have to unzip and lay the bag flat. There are little mesh pockets for my phone and all my charger cords, a big flat pocket for documents, a clip for keys, and even a weird little stowable meshy pocket that pops out of the side and will hold a small water bottle. Once you're on the plane, this bag fits neatly under the seat in front of you. I carry this and a small wheeled suitcase and I'm ready for high-speed, low-drag business travel action. Note: I carry a small wristlet purse that fits in one of the front zippered pockets, but if you carry a huge hobo bag, no way that sucker is going to fit inside.

Perfect size for smaller women
I am a small person (5'2") and it was a pain trying to find a small laptop backpack that would fit my 15.4" laptop. Most laptop backpacks are HUGE and make me look ridiculous. This backpack was the perfect size, with lots of other compartments and pockets to hold everything I can possibly need. The only concern I have, is that the laptop compartment on the inside is made of this scratchy plastic material. I used to have a Dell Inspiron laptop that has a silver matte surface. The scratchy plastic scruffed up the silver. It was an old laptop that I was going to be replacing soon anyway though, so it wasn't too big of a deal. I didn't want the plastic to scruff up my new laptop, so I took precautions with my new laptop and sewed a microfiber case to put inside the plastic one. The faux-croc accents on this backpack is not really my style, but at least the backpack is black. WAY too many products made for women are pink nowadays, so I'm thankful that this is at least black.

The Perfect Solution
OK. I have had this Mobile edge Backpack for over a year and it is still looking great. I travel 45-50 weeks per year. I have a laptop and all accessories to travel with plus files etc. I had always used a roller bag but began to develop a terrible tendonitis in my elbow from dragging the bag behind me, lifting it into plane overhead compartment and picking up and carrying up and down stairs. I never was much of a backpack fan since they tend to look sporty, slouchy etc and like I might be going camping (which, by the way, you would never catch me doing!). I was also tired of dragging my computer out and replacing at TSA. I researched tons of alternatives. I saw this and that it was made specifically for woment. The straps are positioned differently i think, the are padded and adjustable. Everything fits easily into this little beauty...15" HP laptop, all cords, portable mouse, my GPS and cord, Kindle and recharger, cell phones + chargers, IPod (and charger), pens, glasses, thumbdrive, magazine. The weight is evenly distributed so my shoulders don't get strained. I use a crossbody little purse and I am handsfree! Breeze through security. I can take the stairs for a little excercise since I'm not dragging a behemoth behind me. Tons of compliments and "where did you get that?" I always tell them Mobile Edge(great products) and make sure you check the price on Amazon.com since they usually beat the competition by a long shot.
