Favors the metric system or the left-handed

It's so difficult to get the right product if you don't physically handle it. This looks fine but it's essentially left-handed for those who want to use standard units. I apologize to those who like the metric system but I need this to measure in inches and it's essentially left-handed if you're going to do that because of the way the tape unrolls. If youre left handed then the inches are on top and the centimeters are on bottom of the tape as it unfolds. It's fine and it will work but I definitely would have purchased something else if I would have known that. But there's just no way to know until you're holding it. You'll see! Buy this if your left handed or need it for the metric system measurements.

It starts over the inch tally with every foot. It's better to have total inches denoted.

Great

Used to measure the proper fiber optics lengths in a datacenter overhead fiber trays. It is one of the best tools ever used at the Datacenter. No more wasting time estimating lengths just to be wrong and having to run it twice.

Nice smaller tape

Bought this when I was measuring out my property and couldn't figure out where I had stored my 200 footer. This product is bright colored, light weight and compact compared to my larger one. In my opinion, the quality is on par with the name brands. The difference is, it has a plastic loop end on the tape which I don't expect to cause any problems if treated properly. It has metal tape guides and the tape itself is bright and easy to read. Unless you use it every day under harsh conditions it should last for many years. Experience: even the expensive name brands break if abused. I didn't want to spend a lot because I knew the 200 footer was hiding on me somewhere. As it goes, soon as you replace something, the old one shows always shows up. Still love the new Amazon 100 footer and prefer using it as my first choice.. You can't go wrong for the price. A great value.

Its sturdy and long what can i say

This is another great item from amazon basics. I had this in my saved items list for ages and ages tracking price increases as they came and went. I didnt have a massive requirement for one but when the time did come round, the price was good so here we are. The build quality is very good, it seems well made, with all components aligning together well around a fibreglass tape reel. This is perfect for measuring longer distances without the annoying pain of the tape snapping, flexing or instant rewind taking your fingers off (all of which were classic traits of the standard type). The tape aligns well to the unit and is fairly robust and well built in itself. Measurements appear to be correct also. Great product!

Useful measuring tape especially suited for outdoor use

This is a super measuring tape for indoor or outdoor use. We're currently using it for measuring a meadow for fencing and it is standing up to some fairly torrential rain which simply rolls off the tape. The 30m/100' tape is clear to read with imperial measurements to the yellow side and metric to the white underside. Being made from a light and flexible fibreglass, rain rolls off and mud can be rinsed then wiped off before rolling it up via the winding handle. The pointed ground spike is a very welcome touch for single-handed measuring allowing the tape reel to be pushed into the ground and then unwound while the bright orange ensures it is easily visible even at dusk. However, the spike is short so insertion depth is limited or the winding handle prevents it being unwound - a longer spike would have been preferred. On site, it is easy to carry via the silicone-lined carry handle and is lightweight. Throughout, build quality is good and although the casing is plastic rather than metal, it feels tough and isn't a brittle plastic. A good product ideal for indoor or outdoor use in all-weather.

Accurate and easy to read.

This tape is made from some for of plastic for the housing and fibreglass for the tape itself. This means that whilst the tape is strong and durable, the housing will need a bit more care than a metal model. The markings on the tape are easy to read, with metric on one side and inches on the other. The loop on the end of the tape is attached well and seems to be accurate, but is also made of plastic so again will need a bit of care. The handle folds away when not in use and stops the tape from unrolling. Overall this is an accurate and well made tape which should last for a very long time.
