You need the app for calibration.
These gloves nail it!!!! I've been through several brands, from cheap Chinese (bial, ect) to name brands (Milwaukee) I work in a negative 10°f freezer for a living, and these gloves WORK!!! They do exactly what they claim. They regulate, and KEEP my hands warm. None of the other brands I've used over the years would keep my hands warm even on the highest setting ( a supposed/claimed 135°f ) which then would die after a couple hours with my hands still cold as f***. On top of that the previous brands I've used ( including Milwaukee red lithium! ) Felt apart within less than 4 months. I operate a forklift with a decent amount of manual labor, but nothing really abrasive to my hands, hense my extreme disappointment. Especially when I paid well over $200 for the Milwaukee red lithium that didn't keep my hands very warm on the highest setting that then deteriorated physically in less than 4 months. The batteries in these mechanix lasted all day! ( Hands warm as f***!! ) The only reason for the 4 stars is I haven't had the time to see how they hold up physically. I will update my review when I've had the time to put them to the test. Until then I'm beyond impressed. For now.

prototype quality gloves. NOT warm when fail, SLOW CS.
12/16/22 update. I called early Monday morning and I was told that I'd here by the end of the day about replacements before they go through the normal warranty process. it is now Friday and I just got an email asking me to print out a label box them in a specific size box and mail them for diagnostics. it asked me to please mail them within 30 days. it's a Friday there's a snow storm, in the holidays are approaching. they said that if they can't figure out what's wrong they then send my gloves to clim8 themselves for them to diagnose. all of this is before I get either the same pair sent back to me or a new pair if climate can't fix them either. so then I also have a product that has failed and it may be reworked pretty nicely but they have to rip open the seams and stuff I don't know if they put a new liner in they're not giving me a lot of detailed answers. I specifically asked if they can ask the diagnostics team be it technicians or engineers whether having the leashes on the back of the glove where some of the wiring is would be a weak spot and if they think it'll remain a problem and she will ask them that question but she will not let them respond until after they have received gloves & tried to see whats wrong. I think it'll be mid January at the absolute earliest that I get my gloves back and I worry it could be mid-February. my gloves started having problems a couple weeks before I actually contacted them. supposedly they are extending the warranty even for people who got them "last season", but I don't love when they want me to trust words instead of writing. I think they are extremely capable and they're going to end up figuring this out but I think they should send me a new pair while they're repairing the old pair. I'll note that I specifically offered to pay as a deposit or something so that they know that I'm not just running off with the gloves and that they're not getting their old pair back and they'll see it's not in any way shape or form abused. their other gloves even the ones rated for cold apparently they're not at all suitable for temperatures below 30 or 40 degrees for an email that I was asking about backup gloves thinking for if there was a problem once they sent me the new pair. I wish it was more like teamwork instead of 'we'll keep them half of the season & let you know'. *sigh* supposedly a lot of people's gloves work. supposedly they are bought both by workers and people doing things like walking their dogs but I'm not sure if she took that that literally versus just people who have cold fingers. I do think eventually they'll come up with a way to protect the cable in the back of the hand if it's coming loose from the battery pack or something if a soldering connection is pulled and they don't have a good enough strain relief or isolation, whatever. she suggested at this time of year people must be extra patient. I only 50% degree when I plop this much money on my gloves. I don't expect a lot of customer service on anything low cost but I sort of expected better customer service on these. so if you're buying this as the dream Christmas present I think it's still a maybe but buyer beware. I would suggest having a backup pair of gloves or at least an over glove to wind and waterproof before you are in really cold conditions because when they are not heating even though your fingers are below 65°, that's a bit on the dangerous side very quickly. I've only used on foot near my home and in the car where I have heat that works. old title warm fingers, auto off at choice of temp. hand sensing. update, the finger length gets right when grasping things (using loppers). I am having some auto-off issues i need to contact support about. I expect it will be okay though, and these things are gold comfort wise! way better than mittens. specific note that the charger light comes on when the batteries are plugged in... as if charging. even if the power surge protector strip is turned off. lol. odder, was the light turned green after being "plugged in" with no power all night. i hate contacting c.s. but this is too important not to. used my phone more successfully with gloves on. Its just key not to have to unplug each time for me.. its a tiny headphone jack style plug, little bend radius protection, little leverage. my expectations will change within a year or two as for the acceptability of that. but aince they focused on tenp regulation, thats acceptable to start. - you do need an app + you dont have to have the app open nor phone with you to use! * I take my right glove off often for the dogs, thats why its battery is going faster. -- I am tired I am using voice to text for parts of this review, so I wanted to put it on here before I lost interest cuz I know a lot of other people will be looking for reviews just as I was so bear with me for the lack of writing structure or organization. I've inserted a few things but I probably only made it less organized. but hey it's got some info and that's what's most important until enough people own these and write reviews. + temp rapidly read inside each glove, temp regulation program in gloves so phone doesn't need to be with you once your settings are set. when outdoor temps in upper 40's or 50's i thought 69°inimum setting was a little too warm for me. I used to keep my house at that, but now set at 67. That is colder than many prefer, *but* i do get cold, and I can & do get cold fingers and feet. my last gloves were not cutting it -before- i bought these. and two versions of gloves that sell for $80 didn't either. pre-frosts. I don't yet have heat for boots, but I just bought some boots meant for arctic workers, so should suffice for my often minimal extertion in the cold as a nearing midfle age skinny lady. But now that its started to get below freezing it doesn't feel too warm. In this fall weather, I've used them at least 10x without needing to charge the batteries. (as in, i have only charged upon the delivery so far) - I can feel the wires on one knuckle in left hand and one finger on right when donning, or thinking about analyzing them, as they were reviewless at time of purchase. I'm new to a climate thats not tropical or barely sub tropical. i'm not far from Canada. I may not remember to make little review adjustments, but if anything major i will. the biggest negative I've found is that driving with them, when the heat is on, the little light is on, and isnt nice at night for visibility. on the other hand, i like every little glow for visibility to other cars when walking small dogs in the dark. but for road use, i will probably have to break out a sharpie to keep the light down when driving on dark roads. its blue, pretty, and subtle otherwise. electrical tape'd work, but figure sharpie may block enough adhesive free. I don't like that these aren't made to be machine washed, so I will want like a nose wipe or something on a sleeve or something that I can tuck over the glove. as I think over to my neighbors with younger children who are wiping their noses with their gloves cuz they can wash them. reality isn't always pretty. I would not wear a thick or plush fleece liner with these fitwise, buying my normal mens glove size (m) (L) in womens - but not mechanix's as their womens gloves run short in length per reviews, and i had good dexterity in my mens work gloves. but maybe I can find a thin liner glove that's literally meant to line another to keep it clean instead of to also give warmth. i let a contractor try em on after one was talking about Florida. I think there is a smidge more length than i expected compared to my old work gloves. but i don't think they still make my pair. when my skin was severely dry i noticed it not working my phones screen on 2 occasions. but ive checked a bunch more times and it works. so i think it was my forgetting to use a little moisturizer. oh, and for my personal fit, i feel like theres too much room between the poi

Not as warm as everyone claims
Bought these gloves for when I walk my dog in winter. At -15 degrees Celsius, they couldn’t keep up and my fingers were getting a bit cold. Looked at the app and the heat was full on but the inside glove temp was getting close to 4 degrees Celcius. A little disappointed for these expensive gloves and all the good reviews people are leaving.
